Milla Jovovich told "passing strangers" about her pregnancy before anyone else.
The 38-year-old actress and her husband Paul W.S. Anderson are expecting their second child together and the filmmaker admitted both the 'Resident Evil' star and their daughter Ever, six, couldn't wait to share the happy news.
Talking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Paul shared: "[Ever] is super, super excited. When we told her she ran out into the street and started telling passing strangers. The first person to know [that Milla is pregnant] was one of our neighbours, walking her dog past our house.
"But [Ever] tells absolutely everybody that she meets that her mother is pregnant, she's so proud of her mum and really excited to have a younger sibling. Probably someone to boss around but she's really excited about it."
The director then joked about how his daughter was secretly hoping for a little girl.
He added: "She, of course, would like a little sister to boss around. But she would settle for a little brother if she had to."
Paul admitted that their new arrival will impact his film career, after previously announcing that the filming of 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' will be delayed until next year to accommodate Milla's pregnancy.
The 49-year-old filmmaker added: "The older your family get and the more they get rooted in school, the more that weighs quite heavily on your decisions of, do I want to go away for such a long period of time?"

The 'Diamonds' hitmaker reportedly splashes out on a string of experts, including a dermatologist, tanner and personal eyelash technician, to be available whenever she needs them in order to look good around the clock.
A source said: "Her eyelash expert is on call 24/7. It's not unusual for Rihanna to call at 11pm before a night out.
"She gets laser skin tightening, oxygen facials, photo facials, even the infamous vampire facials. It's not just her face, she gets laser treatments on her body too.
"[From her tanner], she gets her thighs contoured using the airbrush tanning and he's also an expert on highlighting her abs too."
As well as paying the dermatologist £6,000 a week to be on call, £3,000 to her lash expert and £500 a day to the tanner, Rihanna also splurges £1,500 a day having a hair stylist travel the world with her and pays make-up artist Mylah Morales £2,000 a week.
The source added to LOOK magazine: "She has round-the-clock hair experts. Then there's the actual hair. She only wears human hair that has never been processed - her latest look cost about $7,000. It is her most important accessory.
"Rihanna likes to change her make-up with every outfit and sometimes she'll change up to five times. Mylah is always there to help her make-up and wardrobe coordinate."

The 'He's Just Not That Into You' actress is happy to look after four-month-old Oliver when he wakes in the night so her spouse can get so much rest, but the 32-year-old actor would prefer to be up with their little boy.

When asked if she is feeling the fashion heat from Mel and Cheryl, Sarah told BANG Showbiz: "I have to bring my A-game, they're two amazing ladies, if I was just there with four smelly blokes I'd probably be like, 'Can I just roll in wearing this?' But I'm with Cheryl and Mel who are two very stylish girls. For me I love anything that pushes me and makes me want to be the best I can be, whether it's in how I look or how I present or just in life, you know? If you're not making progress then you're pretty much no use."
Sarah insists the Cheryl and Mel have been getting on great during the audition stage of the series, but she thinks they could get more competitive when the live shows kick-off and their fighting for their acts along with other judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
The TV-and-radio presenter - who is presenting this year's MOBO Awards - said: "They're both really nice, really kind girls. It's been nice to see the good vibe between them.
