Jessie J: Rita Ora must be honest with The Voice contestants

Jessie J says Rita Ora must be honest with ‘The Voice’ contestants if she wants to be a good judge.

The 26-year-old singer was a judge on the BBC One talent show for two series before quitting to focus on her music career and she’s now spoken about her opinion of new judge Rita.

Quizzed on what her advice would be, Jessie exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Just be honest with them [the contestants]. She’s been around the world and she’s done a lot.

"She’s worked very hard in the last few years and I know she knows how emotionally exhausting it is and how much you have to work for it.

"And just enjoy it too. Just be yourself because it’s worked for her so far. And dress up because you’re the only girl. You’ve got to be that diva. Be the woman and enjoy it."

Jessie also admitted that her role as a mentor on ‘The Voice’ meant she’d had to put her music career on the back burner.

She explained: "I think that I definitely learned my lesson. As I saw in everything in life, you only learn when you do it, especially when you’re in the public eye.

"You can’t test anything without doing it. And so I’ve learned my lesson which is why I’m no longer on the Voice while I’m releasing an album because it was very time consuming."

Jessie J’s new album ‘Sweet Talker’ is released today (13.10.14), featuring her latest single ‘Burnin’ Up’.
