Cheryl Fernandez-Versini defends Chloe Jasmine

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has spoken out to defend the "vulnerable" and "misunderstood" Chloe Jasmine.

The ‘X Factor’ judge has blasted Twitter trolls for the hurtful comments they’ve made about one of the contestants from her girls category on the ITV talent show.

Chloe has been unpopular with some viewers after a video of her auditioning for the show in 2006 without her posh accent emerged, followed by a number of saucy pictures of her modelling risqué underwear.

But, according to the Daily Star newspaper, Cheryl has defended her saying: "Chloe is actually very misunderstood.

"She’s actually very, very vulnerable and soft on the inside. It’s a bit of a front you see sometimes. I worked with her a lot this week on getting up there [on stage] and enjoying herself.

"She’s won her place here and she should stand up there like she deserves it."

Meanwhile, the ‘Only Human’ singer has confessed she suffered a "wake-up call" when another of her acts, Stephanie Nala, was in the bottom two on the show last night (12.10.14) after failing to impress with her rendition of Bread’s ‘Everything I Own’ during Saturday’s (11.10.14) live show.

Cheryl told ‘The Xtra Factor’: "We need to do a lot of her work on her, definitely on her self-belief, but also choosing.

"She’s got a very delicate voice so you have to choose the correct song for Steph.

"She’s one of those artists that’s so distinctive [that] if you get it wrong, you really get it wrong.

"It’s a good wake-up call for me and her."
