Laura Carmichael hates the "fiddly" period costumes she wears for ‘Downton Abbey’.
The 28-year-old actress, who plays Lady Edith in the ITV period drama, has admitted that she can’t stand intricate costumes that her character has to wear.
When asked if she hates the wardrobe for Lady Edith, she told Radio Times magazine: "Yeah, yeah, a lot. Maybe because you keep having to be fiddled with and sewn in. They move your necklace and sew it into the neckline or the hem while you’re carrying on a conversation."
Laura then revealed that at one point, the costumes actually prohibited her from going to the toilet.
She joked: "We tend to be OK now. But there was this annoying moment in the second series where are corsets were attached to our stockings, which was a nightmare.
"The undergarments are a lot better for us now."
