Phillip Schofield: My daughters keep me ‘current’

Phillip Schofield admits his daughters keep him up-to-date with the latest trends.
The 52-year-old presenter has confessed if it weren't for he and wife Stephanie Lowe's two daughters Molly and Ruby he wouldn't have a clue about modern music.
He shared: "I'm very proud of the fact that my daughters keep me very current. Both of them have great taste in music and play stuff that I maybe haven't heard before.
"I was driving Ruby back to uni [university] and she said, 'You've got to listen to this'. Ruby and her mates discovered it just before it broke - Megan Trainor's 'All About That Bass'.
"As we listened to it ... I can remember I said, oh my God, this is incredible. And I thank Ruby for introducing me to that, way before anybody else!"
The 'This Morning' host also revealed how Coldplay frontman Chris Martin shouted out to him during their set at a concert in Germany.
Speaking to Magic Radio's Christine Bleakley, Phillip explained: "Chris Martin said, 'Ladies and gentlemen, I know we're in Zurich, there's a guy here tonight, you don't know him because he's British, but we know he's watching. So, Phillip Schofield, this one's for you'. And they played 'Yellow' and I'm looking at the girls and Steph, my wife, going, 'What did he just say? What did he just say?' That was one of those brilliant moments."

Ken Morley removed from Celebrity Big Brother for using ‘offensive language’

Ken Morley was removed from the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house for using "offensive language".
The former 'Coronation Street' star had already received a formal warning for the language he used in scenes aired over the weekend.
He was called to the diary house immediately after describing a row he had with Frank Bruno, where he used a racist term.
In a discussion with Keith Chegwin, he recalled the conversation he had with Frank, where he told the boxing legend: "Hello, Lord Fauntleroy here - turn down your n***** rhythms."
The events had been building up over the weekend, but appeared to come to a head after fellow contestant Cami Li confronted Ken for his behaviour.
He responded by telling her: "The reason why we're here - they have trawled America and England to bring us together, [to bring] psychological warfare [to the show]."
He was also confronted by Nadia Sawalha for the lewd comments he made about some of the women in the 'CBB' house but stood by his remarks, explaining: "Those girls are some of the best-looking women I've seen; they've got fabulous bodies ...
"What is wrong with a man looking at the best-looking asses in the world?"
A statement released earlier announcing Ken's departure read: "Ken Morley has been removed from the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house for using unacceptable and offensive language following his formal warning."
Ken was up for eviction against Alexander and 'Ex on the Beach' beauty Chloe Goodman in the public vote but after he was kicked out of the house, Tuesday's (13.01.15) eviction has now been cancelled.
The statement continued: "Tuesday's eviction is now cancelled and lines are now closed. Anyone who has already voted will be able to apply for a full refund and details will be available on the 'Big Brother' website within 24 hours."

Ken Morley removed from Celebrity Big Brother house

Ken Morley has been removed from the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house.
The former 'Coronation Street' star has been asked to leave the Channel 5 reality show house after receiving a formal warning from Big Brother for using unacceptable language in scenes aired over the weekend.
The official statement about his departure reads: "Ken Morley has been removed from the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house for using unacceptable and offensive language following his formal warning."
The announcement comes after 'Criticize' hitmaker Alexander O'Neal's wife Cynthia branded the 71-year-old actor a "disgusting, despicable racist" for calling her husband a "big fat negro".
She said: "This man is not stupid, this man is ignorant. Those words would not come out of someone's mouth unless they were racist."
Ken had been put up for eviction by a number of his housemates and was set to go up against Alexander and 'Ex on the Beach' beauty Chloe Goodman in the public vote but after being kicked out of the house Tuesday's (13.01.15) eviction has now been cancelled.
The statement continued: "Tuesday's eviction is now cancelled and lines are now closed. Anyone who has already voted will be able to apply for a full refund and details will be available on the 'Big Brother' website within 24 hours."
The controversial star - who was also warned about a number of lewd comments he made about the women in the house - is the second celebrity to be removed from the house since the show kicked off last week.
Jeremy Jackson, 34 - who is best known for playing Hobie Buchannon in 'Baywatch' - was forced to leave following an incident in which he is alleged to have groped Chloe, 21.

Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston for The Night Manager

Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston are to star in 'The Night Manager'.
The 55-year-old actor and the 'Thor' star will take on the lead roles in the upcoming six-part series based on John le Carré's espionage novel of the same name, which is to be directed by Susanne Bier.
Hugh said: "I loved The Night Manager when it was published, and for more than 20 years have yearned to see it realized on screen. I am now thrilled and honoured to have the frontest of front row seats. All the moving parts are finely machined - we just have to not mess it up."
The project - which is to be co-produced by BBC One, The Ink Factory and AMC - will be the first TV adaptation of a le Carré novel for over 20 years and will bring together love, loss and revenge in a complex story of crime.
The drama will follow former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Hiddleston) as he navigates the hidden secrets of Whitehall and Washington, where an unholy alliance operates between the intelligence community and secret arms trade.
In order to infiltrate the inner circle of lethal arms dealer Richard Onslow Roper (Laurie), Pine will be forced to become a criminal himself.
Tom said of the challenging role: "Jonathan Pine is a thrilling prospect ... The most mysterious and complex kind of British hero. It's an honour and a privilege to work with such truly impeccable collaborators as Hugh Laurie and Susanne Bier in bringing this to screen."
Filming on 'The Night Manager' is set to begin later this year.

Steve McDonald blames himself for crash

Coronation Street's Steve McDonald will blame himself for a dramatic mini-bus crash after being diagnosed with depression.
The taxi-driver, played by actor Simon Gregson, is in such a "dark place" that he will force himself to take responsibility for the crash caused by a couple of boy racers that will leave one of the ITV soap's characters fighting for their life.
Speaking about the aftermath of the crash, Simon said: "He feels terrible but again rather than arguing that it wasn't his fault, it was the idiots in the car, he hasn't got it in him to fight back and so he just takes it.
"He is in such a dark place he think everything is his fault anyway now he has something to take responsibility for, something major he is blaming himself for."
However, the 40-year-old actor admits the accident may bring him and ex-girlfriend Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) closer together, as he finally works up the courage to confess what he's been going through.
He explained: "It starts with the fact that he walked away from everybody [in the accident] but then he blurts out that he has been diagnosed as having depression and that he has been feeling bad for a long time.
"She is very upset about it. Her thoughts change and she realises it wasn't her and this is the turning point for them to start rebuilding their relationship."
Meanwhile, Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn has revealed the crash will be the catalyst for a number of dramatic storylines.
He said: "Everyone involved in filming these dramatic episodes is very proud of the end results. The stunt is breathtaking and is real edge of the seat stuff.
"But, in the spirit of great storytelling, the crash itself is just the start of the drama and will have far reaching effects for all the people involved in the coming months."

Alexander O’Neal’s wife wants Ken Morley removed from CBB house

Alexander O'Neal's wife has called for Ken Morley to be removed from the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house.
The 'Criticize' hitmaker's wife Cynthia has branded the former 'Coronation Street' actor a "disgusting, despicable racist" and called for him to be kicked off the Channel 5 reality show after he referred to her husband as a "big fat Negro".
She said: "I can't believe the choice of words. It's disgusting, it's despicable, it's something that should never come out of anyone's mouth any more."
Cynthia also insisted Ken's claims he was simply joking are irrelevant as she sees that kind of language as completely unacceptable.
She continued: "This man is not stupid, this man is ignorant. Those words would not come out of someone's mouth unless they were racist."
Ken was given a formal warning by Big Brother following the incident with Alexander and was also told off for a number of comments he made about several women in the house and could now be face being evicted if his bad behaviour continues.
Cynthia told The Sun newspaper: "How much lower can you go? He insulted the black race to the fullest extent, I think it's appalling."
Ken was put up for eviction by his fellow housemates on the weekend and will now face the public vote along with Alexander and 'Ex on the Beach' star Chloe Goodman.
Alexander's wife added: "If Alex is voted off and Ken isn't, I think there will be an explosion in London over racism."
Meanwhile, 'Baywatch' star Jeremy Jackson was removed from the house on the weekend after he allegedly groped Chloe in the toilet.

John Altman to quit acting for music

John Altman wants to become a full time rock star.
The 'EastEnders' actor released a cover of Iggy Pop's 'Wild One' with girlband JOANovARC at Christmas time and has now revealed he wants to focus entirely on music once his character Nick Cotton is killed off in the BBC One soap next month.
He said: "If everything takes off with the group then I will devote at least a year to it all.
"I would give up my acting to pursue it, I have been knocking on the rock 'n' roll door for years."
The 62-year-old star has appeared in the popular drama on and off for 30 years but will reportedly be killed by his mother Dot Cotton (June Brown) when she discovers he was responsible for the accident that killed Emma Summerhayes (Anna Acton) and left his daughter-in-law Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) in a coma.
However, John admits he and June are the best of friends in real life and she's even been to support him in his musical ventures.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "When I was chosen to play her son we hit it off on day one.
"She campaigned to bring me back into the show and it has worked. I can't remember how many times Nick has been back.
"I have that empathy with June Brown. She came to see me play recently. We support each other. The chemistry works."

Jo Joyner returning for EastEnders’ 30th anniversary

Former 'EastEnders' actress Jo Joyner is to return for the soap's upcoming 30th anniversary.
The 37-year-old star - who plays Max Branning's (Jake Wood) ex-wife Tanya Cross - will return to Albert Square for her best friend Jane Clarke's (Laurie Brett) wedding to Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
And while she's excited about her upcoming appearance, Jo has confessed she's worried she will be unveiled as Ian's daughter Lucy Beale's (Hetti Bywater) killer during the live flashback episode.
She said: "I'm thrilled to be a part of the 30 year celebrations of a show that I am proud to have been a part of. One of the best thing about soap is that it's stepped in history, we all had a generation of characters that we grew up with, mine were 'Chelle and Sharon and Tiff and Bianca!
"It's great that people can pop back in and help create that depth to the show. I'm really looking forward to working with everyone again, no matter how briefly. I hope I didn't kill Lucy!"
Tanya was last seen in Walford in 2013 when she decided to leave London so that her and Max's toxic relationship would no longer affect their children following daughter Lauren's (Jacqueline Jossa) struggles with alcohol addiction.
Jo - who has featured in some of the BBC One soap's most memorable storylines - will return for two episodes during the 30th anniversary live week.
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: "Tanya is one of EastEnders' most beloved characters, played by one of the best actresses the show has been lucky to have. Tanya and Max's rows were legendary and it's going to be thrilling to watch Jo Joyner and Jake Wood go head-to-head again -but this time, live."

Kym’s fury over Voice trolls

Kym Marsh has hit back at "sick" trolls who targeted her daughter online.
The 'Coronation Street' actress branded certain Twitter users as "bullies" after they slammed her daughter Emilie Cunliffe's audition for BBC One singing competition 'The Voice' on the weekend.
The former Hear'Say star, 38 - who was shown watching the 16-year-old's performance backstage with fiancé Dan Hooper and Emilie's father Dave - took to the social networking site to defend her daughter after she sang 'Clarity' by Zedd.
She wrote: "The bullies make me sick.
"Say what you like about me I really don't care but a 16yr old??? Really? Sick. (sic)"
Kym's co-star Catherine Tyldesley also came to the youngster's defence, writing: "Pure jealousy. They live in deep negativity."
While the judges - Rita Ora, Sir Tom Jones, Ricky Wilson and will.i.am - opted not to put Emilie through to the next round, they were complimentary about her performance, with legendary crooner Tom expressing his regret at not choosing her to advance in the competition.
He said: "I made a mistake."
'How We Do' hitmaker Rita also offered Emilie some tips and advised her to try out again in the future.
She said: "You're beautiful. You have incredible tone. Now ask yourself, 'What am I going to do to stand out?' Figure that out then please come back."
