Kym’s fury over Voice trolls

Kym Marsh has hit back at "sick" trolls who targeted her daughter online.

The ‘Coronation Street’ actress branded certain Twitter users as "bullies" after they slammed her daughter Emilie Cunliffe’s audition for BBC One singing competition ‘The Voice’ on the weekend.

The former Hear’Say star, 38 – who was shown watching the 16-year-old’s performance backstage with fiancé Dan Hooper and Emilie’s father Dave – took to the social networking site to defend her daughter after she sang ‘Clarity’ by Zedd.

She wrote: "The bullies make me sick.

"Say what you like about me I really don’t care but a 16yr old??? Really? Sick. (sic)"

Kym’s co-star Catherine Tyldesley also came to the youngster’s defence, writing: "Pure jealousy. They live in deep negativity."

While the judges – Rita Ora, Sir Tom Jones, Ricky Wilson and will.i.am – opted not to put Emilie through to the next round, they were complimentary about her performance, with legendary crooner Tom expressing his regret at not choosing her to advance in the competition.

He said: "I made a mistake."

‘How We Do’ hitmaker Rita also offered Emilie some tips and advised her to try out again in the future.

She said: "You’re beautiful. You have incredible tone. Now ask yourself, ‘What am I going to do to stand out?’ Figure that out then please come back."
