EastEnders' Linda Carter is "terrified" her husband Mick will leave her.
The Queen Vic landlady, who is played by the actress Kellie Bright, is set to give birth after falling down the stairs and going into labour later next week and Kellie's admitted her character is worried her husband will leave her if they discover the baby's biological father is Dean Wicks, who raped her last year.
She said: "She's scared that it might not be Mick's. She's terrified. There's a scene at the hospital where they talk about what it would mean for them - it's her biggest fear. She will do whatever she has to do to be the mother of that baby. If Mick can't be part of that, it can only mean one thing for them and that is just devastating."
Dean's mother Shirley Carter - who was also revealed to be Mick's mother - will be seen demanding they do a paternity test on the newborn, but the couple are keen to avoid finding out the truth.
Kellie told Radio Times magazine: "Mick and Linda have been burying their heads in the sand - because where do you go with it? How do you start that conversation and how do you finish it? What do you do? Where does it go? It's an impossible conversation to have in a way.
"Up until the moment that Linda goes into labour, the pair of them haven't been in the best place. How can they be with all that's been going on? Everything is so raw."
However, Mick - who is played by Danny Dyer - changes his mind about not wanting to know who the real father is after Dean pays a visit to the hospital and decides to find out his blood group.
Asked if she thinks the arrival of the baby will bring the Carter family back together, Kellie added: "Come on - this is 'EastEnders'! There's bound to be more tensions and arguments and I can't ever see it being a bed of roses. It will be nice for us a family unit, I think; but it will probably just cause more trouble for the extended family."

'Made In Chelsea' star Alik Alfus claims his girlfriend Louise Thompson sometimes physically lashes out at him.
In last night's (04.05.15) episode of the E4 reality show, the 25-year-old New Yorker claimed that the pint-sized beauty sometimes hits him when she's angry.
Speaking to co-stars Stevie Johnson and Andy Jordan, Alik said: "I rolled over when we were in bed and crossed over to her side - I think my elbow was resting in the middle of the bed. So she whacked me and told me to move over. All this Louise nonsense; one minute she's so great, the next, she goes off on one."
While the couple have appeared to be on the rocks in recent weeks, they sat down and had a heart-to-heart later on in the show.
A tearful Louise said: "I don't like all this arguing. It's exhausting. We haven't argued in the last few days so we are improving. But I don't want you to think this has all been me."
Alik then replied: "I can't take all the blame - but I don't want you to think that I don't hear you. I'm not forgetting what you said.
"The complaint you made to me [about being lazy] is a complaint I have with myself too. At the same time though, there is no excuse for being nasty. We should never get to a point where you are aggressive and mean.
"But I don't want you to be upset. We are in a great place and I really love you."
On that note, the couple hugged each other but Louise did not appear to be entirely reassured.

Paul Hollywood is "really upset" with the BBC for sacking Jeremy Clarkson.
The 'Great British Bake Off' star has slammed the corporation for the way in which they "dealt with" the controversial presenter after it emerged he'd attacked 'Top Gear' producer Oisin Tymon during a row about food.
He said: "I'm a car nut and 'Top Gear' was a favourite, I'm really upset about it.
"It was handled wrongly. It could have been dealt with quietly - whether Jeremy left in the end is almost immaterial."
The 49-year-old baker thinks it would be a mistake to try to recreate the bond between Clarkson and his fellow presenters James May and Richard Hammond and instead thinks they should reformat the show altogether.
He told Radio Times magazine: "You can't replace those three guys. Change it, don't mimic it.
"Maybe get [racing driver and former 'Top Gear' presenter] Tiff Needell, or the old Stig Ben Collins back. Or Jodie Kidd - it would be nice to have a woman."
While it's yet to be revealed who will replace Jeremy, Hollywood himself is currently working on his own BBC show about cars and motorbikes.
The silver fox added: "I'm actually doing my own programme about cars at the moment.
"I've got my racing licence, have started racing for Aston Martin and was invited to do Le Mans this year."

Kym Marsh has been targeted by an impersonator online.
The 'Coronation Street' star has reportedly been left "shaken" and branded the culprit a "sicko" after they set up a fake email account in her name and began emailing her close friends.
He is even said to have tried to organise a meeting with her pals, some of whom had fallen for the prank, before one of them became suspicious and alerted her.
The 38-year-old actress is said to have been left disturbed by his actions.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It was very disturbing. God knows what his motivation was. It was probably just a twisted desire to cause Kym problems."
It isn't the first time the brunette beauty has fallen victim online after she was sent death threats last year. She is also said to have received hate mail and x-rated pictures from a man who had a history of targeting actresses.
The source added: "She has been left really shaken by this because it is not the first time she has become a target."

Ritchie Neville wants a "low budget" wedding.
The 5ive singer and his fiancee, Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton - the mother of their daughter Ella, six months - haven't set a date for their big day yet and the 'Whole Again' hitmaker admits their ideas for the perfect celebration differ.
She said: "We talk about marriage all the time but my idea of a wedding is different to Ritchie's - I'd like low-key but fancy, while his is low budget.
"I want to go abroad and get married on a beach but Ritchie keeps saying it's all about saving pennies. We've got a big family so I get it."
And Natasha - who has sons Josh, 12, Harry, 10, and Alfie, four, from previous relationships - is already expecting wedding planning to be a stressful experience.
She said: "We haven't set a date for the wedding yet and it won't be this summer as Atomic Kitten are on tour, but when we do it I think it will be a real headache."
Though both she and her bandmate Kerry Katona - who has four kids - are keen to have more babies, Natasha doesn't think either of them will be doing so in the near future.
She told Closer magazine: "I don't think Kerry has time to be broody as we're so busy rehearsing for the tour.
"I'm not thinking about more children right now as Ritchie and I are concentrating on the kids, plus we have recently moved into a new house in Cheshire and we're busy decorating that."

Peter Davison wants to star in a Netflix original series like his son-in-law David Tennant.
The 64-year-old actor has seen some episodes of 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones' - the upcoming Marvel Comics inspired show made by the streaming TV service - which stars David, who is married to Peter's actress daughter Georgia Moffett.
Peter is very impressed by the programming being created by Netflix and American cable series such as 'Game of Thrones' and he's keen to land a role in a new science-fiction project.
The former 'Doctor Who' star told BANG Showbiz: "There are lots of shows I'd like to star in, I like 'Game of Thrones' but that looks too much like hard work! But I would love to star in a long-running cable series,. Also Netflix is doing some great stuff.
"I wouldn't mind doing another science-fiction show, Netflix is doing a lot of different science-fiction shows, David is in one of them and after seeing that I'd like to do something similar."
When Peter - who is married to Elizabeth Morton - was making 'Doctor Who' in the early 80s, the quality of American television was derided but now he's happy to admit the shows coming out of the US are the "best" in the world.
He said: "I remember when I was doing stuff for the BBC back in the day, American television was pretty terrible stuff, all the network stuff was (bad). Then cable got its act together and now I think they make the best stuff on television."
Peter will soon be touring the UK as part of 'The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular'.
The production showcases the evocative and thrilling music written by composer Murray Gold for the BBC One sci-fi series since 2005 and features over 100 performers including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
Peter will act as the show's presenter and will also have to deal with several of the Doctor's enemies, including the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Silence, while on stage.
'The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular' starts on Saturday May 23 at the The SSE Arena in London.

Craig Charles has quit 'Coronation Street'.
The 50-year-old actor revealed he is leaving the ITV soap in order to work on the sci-fi sitcom 'Red Dwarf' for digital channel Dave, despite the show's bosses pleading with him to stay.
An ITV insider said: "This is a massive blow for Corrie. Craig is a popular cast member and his shoes will be hard to fill. He first announced he was thinking of leaving weeks ago, but bosses tried to change his mind with a huge pay rise."
However Craig - who was already believed to be earning an estimated £200,000 each year from playing Lloyd Mullaney - was reportedly unconvinced by the offers from the soap and now bosses are worried other stars may follow, especially after Alison King who plays Carla Connor recently announced she was also leaving.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: "Corrie is still doing well as far as viewing figures are concerned but certain cast members are unhappy with the direction it is going in. A lot of people feel that it has changed considerably in recent years.
"These two departures might not be the last - and if big names keep leaving that could prove to be a major problem for Corrie.
"Soaps rely on their big names and Corrie can't afford to keep losing theirs."
Despite his decision to quit after a decade in the role, with his final scenes set to air in September, the father-of-three described his time on the soap as "fantastic".
He said: "I've had a fantastic ten years and am sad to leave.
"Lloyd has become a huge part of my life and I have some amazing friends with whom I will always keep in touch. But I feel that I owe it to my colleagues on 'Red Dwarf' to join them in filming the new series at the end of the year."

Shane Richie will not return to 'EastEnders'.
The 51-year-old actor first hit screens as Alfie Moon in 2002, but has now suggested his days on Albert Square will end after a spin-off show with his on-screen on/off partner, Kat Slater, played by Jessie Wallace.
The six-part drama was announced last month, and will see the couple put their troubled past behind them and move to Ireland where they will "search for answers to some very big questions".
Speaking about his future on the BBC One soap after the show, he said: "I'm out of it now ... you'll see."
Sources suggest the star may be too busy to return to the soap as he has signed up to another BBC drama, 'Moving On', which will see him act opposite former 'Coronation Street' actress, Julie Hesmondhalgh.
However, speaking earlier this week, the much-loved actor revealed he is looking forward to getting away from his 'EastEnders' character, and added he doesn't feel any competition with Julie despite their soap rivalry, because the shows are actually very similar.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's really nice because Alfie is not in it.
"Julie and I were talking about the differences [between the soaps] and there isn't any. We all have the same angst, the same commitment, the same passion for our shows."

Asked who his dream dinner date would be, Matt said: "Lorraine Kelly. I've got a soft spot for her."
The former 'This Morning' presenter - who previously dated 'The One Show' host Alex Jones - admitted he's had some bad experiences when it comes to cooking for girlfriend's himself, however.
Speaking about his past cooking disasters, he said: "I've woken up in the morning with a blackened pizza in the oven. I also tried to make salsa to impress my ex-girlfriend when I was 19. It was a watery mess. It was horrible."
Matt does have some specialties when it comes to inviting dates round for dinner, but confessed he struggles to keep them healthy.
He added to new! magazine: "I can cook. I've done an Italian cookery course. People don't eat carbs these days, but if they were into it I'd cook my famous mackerel pate and then cannelloni from scratch."
