Dame Maggie Smith’s Downton Abbey character ‘will never die’

Dame Maggie Smith's 'Downton Abbey' character "will never die".
The 80-year-old actress is currently filming scenes as the Dowager Countess of Grantham for the sixth and final series of the period drama, and the show's creator Lord Julian Fellowes has assured fans they don't need to worry about the demise of the much-loved character, despite her old age.
He insisted: "Maggie will never die!"
The Academy Award-winning writer made the promise after the 'Harry Potter' star recently hinted her character could pass away as she "can't keep going".
She said: "I mean, I certainly can't keep going ... To my knowledge I must be 110 by now. We're into the late 1920s."
The show's 65-year-old creator has also teased viewers about what to expect in the final series - which will air later this year - revealing fan favourites are set to return throughout the string of episodes.
He confessed: "All the cast we said goodbye to in series five are all popping up in the final series.
"It will end on Christmas Day. It will be a two-hour special on Christmas night. I am pleased with the way the whole series is coming on actually."
And although Julian insists this is the final series of the ITV programme, he is open to creating a Hollywood adaptation as it would allow him to tell the story on a bigger "scale".
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "A film budget would allow us to do a 'Downton' story on a scale that is obviously not possible on television. There would be something to achieve that we couldn't achieve on television and that seems to me to be worthwhile."

Lucy Watson brands Made in Chelsea ‘incestuous’ and ‘weird’

Lucy Watson thinks 'Made in Chelsea' is "incestuous" and "weird".
The E4 star - who has appeared in the structured-reality show since 2012 - admitted she finds it strange being on the show because it has made her act differently, especially when it comes to relationships, as she claims she would never have dated co-stars Jamie Laing and Oliver Proudlock in her normal life.
She explained: "It is incestuous and it's weird because I don't actually date that much in real life.
"Normally, I wouldn't have given them a second look, but they're charming guys - that's why they're on the TV show. You get lost in it.
"I don't need to waste my time with people like Jamie and Proudlock, who are just immature."
The 24-year-old model - who will return to screens on 11 May - even confessed she "cried" when she first featured on the London-based programme, because she hated how she was being portrayed.
She said: "I cried a lot when I was watching the [first] episodes because I was thinking: 'This isn't me'.
"I was doing things I thought would be entertaining, like asking Spencer [Matthews] for his number when he had a girlfriend. I didn't think, 'People are going to hate me now because that's a really horrible thing to do.' I've learned a lot since being on the show."
However, the brunette beauty teased viewers could be treated to a new hunk as she has recently started dating a mystery man, although she is being "cautious" with the relationship because she is afraid of getting hurt.
She told The Sun newspaper's Fabulous magazine: "We've been seeing each other a few weeks.
"I'm being cautious. When you're in love, you're vulnerable because that person has so much control over your emotions ... That's why I think so carefully about falling in love. I'd rather be with somebody I really trust. If you don't trust them, then f**k that."

Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle’s girlfriend loves his navel

Gary 'Gaz' Beadle's girlfriend loves his belly button.
The 'Geordie Shore' star has been dating fashion designer Lillie Gregg since last year and she's revealed what it is about the former lothario that made her fall in love.
She said: "Gary's so sweet, considerate and really patient. Oh, and I love his bellybutton."
And while Lillie claims it's his body she fell for, Gary insists it's her "down to earth" nature that made him finally settle down.
He shared: "She's sweet, innocent and down-to-earth. She works hard - a lot of girls might want to go out with me for my money and holidays, but she's not like that."
The couple - who first met while on a night out in Birmingham - didn't get off to the best start, however, as Lillie was put off by his womanising reputation on the MTV show.
The 27-year-old star explained: "I met her in a nightclub in Birmingham last summer. I texted her, but she never texted back! I just thought, 'I'm really trying here, why won't she reply?'"
Lille added to Now! magazine: "I just thought, 'Oh it's Gaz!' When I met him I told him I wasn't the kind of girl he was looking for, although by the end of the night I thought he was lovely and quite cute. But I never thought it would go anywhere."

Christine Bleakley trying to plan wedding

Christine Bleakley hasn't had time to plan her wedding.
The television presenter has been engaged to football star Frank Lampard for four years and is hoping the pair can finally start preparing to tie the knot when they reach New York.
She said: "It would be lovely to try to get it done but we don't really know where we are with Frank and football.
"Hopefully we will know more soon when we get to New York."
But Christine has insisted she doesn't want anything too fussy when the pair eventually find time to wed.
She added: "It will be our nearest and dearest invited, people we are close to, it will be family-oriented.
"Hopefully it will be good food, good drink and a good old knees-up. It will be a bit of an old-fashioned wedding in that respect.
"Would we do a deal with a glossy magazine? I don't think so. It's not for us."
And the 36-year-old television personality is glad the pair aren't making their move to the Big Apple permanent as she enjoys living in London.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Home is London for us and there is no furniture moving anywhere, so the ability to dip in and out of this mad world we have all grown up with watching movies and 'Friends', I'm looking forward to that.
"I'm looking forward to having a bit of an adventure. I'm excited about going to all the different sporting events, I want to go to everything there is. And then it will be exciting to watch Frank play in a new environment, that is going to be a new challenge for him in all the right ways."

Alison King taking break from Coronation Street

Alison King is taking a break from 'Coronation Street'.
The 42-year-old actress - who has played Carla Connor in the ITV soap for nine years - is set to take a "sabbatical" from her role because of "creative reasons".
A spokesperson for 'Coronation Street' said: "Alison King has indicated to producers she would like to take a sabbatical from the show for creative reasons at some point in 2016.
"She wishes to try her hand at other projects before returning to the part of Carla Connor, a role she has enjoyed playing for nine years. Before Ali takes her break Carla has much more drama to come."
And just some of that drama will see Alison's character Carla in a sticky situation after becoming a target for archenemy Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
The pair has never seen eye to eye since Carla started dating Tracy's brother Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and their feud was only made worse by Carla breaking up Tracy's relationship with Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) by handing him into the police.
In explosive scenes set to air at the end of this month, viewers will see Tracy's revenge end with a colossal blaze at Victoria Court.
However, viewers will be left guessing whether the fire is part of the mother-of-one's plan or whether it will take on a mind of its own.

‘Naughty’ Amanda Holden

Amanda Holden has been "naughtier" on this series of 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The star thinks her and fellow judge Alesha Dixon are acting a little more risqué compared to the previous ITV series.
She said: "Alesha and I have been naughtier this year.
"We're very much united against the two egos on either end! We do all get along on the panel but I think we're very different to one another and that's why it works."
The 44-year-old actress also insisted it was a "no brainer" for her to resume her position on the judging panel.
She added: "It's an absolute no brainer of a job for me. It's an incredible thing to be part of. We're such a tiny island when you think of it, but we seem to have a never-ending supply of eccentricity, nuttiness and pure talent. It's already shaping up to be one of our strongest shows.
"I'm a stickler for variety in its simplest medium. I like ventriloquists, animal acts ... singing is a huge part of the show, too, and I'd like to see a choir win."
And Amanda has ruled out leaving the show, saying she would be "mental" to quit.
She told the Daily Express newspaper: "When I first got the 'Britain's Got Talent' gig, I remember saying to my husband, Chris, that if I was still doing it in five years it'd be amazing. Nine years later my eldest daughter has grown up with it.
"If Simon [Cowell] offered me more, I would definitely continue. I would be mental not to."

Sam Faiers wants to get married and have children with boyfriend

Sam Faiers wants to marry and have children with Paul Day.
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star is smitten with the property developer - who she has been dating for six months - and though they are not moving in together just yet, she definitely wants to settle down with him in the future.
She said: "He's very grown up and my family adore him. We're really happy.
"There were reports recently that we're moving in together, but we're not at that stage just yet.
"Although obviously I'd love marriage and kids with him in my future."
And though she has previously been engaged to her former 'TOWIE' co-star Joey Essex - who proposed to her in April 2013 - Sam, 24, insists her past won't "spoil" her relationship with Paul.
She added to Closer magazine: "Paul is so different to Joey... If Paul was to propose, I wouldn't let my past with Joey spoil that. I've been engaged before, but me and Joey were so young.
"It wouldn't make my next engagement any less special. Everyone has a past and I've learnt a lot from my relationship with Joey."

Jodie Kidd’s husband granted ‘quickie’ divorce

Jodie Kidd's husband David Blakely has been granted a "quickie" divorce.
The 36-year-old beauty's estranged partner was granted the decree of separation by District Judge Judy Gibson in just 45 seconds at London's Central Family Court this morning (01.05.15) on the grounds of Jodie's "unreasonable behaviour".
The judge granted the 34-year-old author a formal dissolution of the marriage - which lasted just four months - after ruling that their relationship had gone past the point of repair and that he could no longer reasonably be expected to live with the former supermodel.
Neither Jodie nor David were present at the court, but the MailOnline report that Blakeley had ticked the box marked "yes" when asked if his now ex-wife's unreasonable behaviour was continuing while he marked the box labelled "no" in answer to whether he'd lived with her for more than six months.
The 'Jump' contestant - who was previously married to internet entrepreneur Aidan Butler and has three-year-old son Indio with Argentinian polo player Andrea Vianini - first revealed she'd split from David in December last year.
She said at the time: "It's with sadness that David and I have separated. My priority remains my son Indio."
The couple announced their engagement in January 2014 after a whirlwind romance before tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in August.
Jodie confessed at the time that she thought she and David would be together for the rest of their lives.
Meanwhile, the leggy blonde is reported to be in the running to take over from Jeremy Clarkson as the host of 'Top Gear' after the controversial presenter was sacked for attacking a producer.

Jim Carter: It’s ‘right time’ for Downton Abbey to end

Jim Carter believes it is "the right time" for 'Downton Abbey' to end.
The 66-year-old star, who has played the butler Mr. Carson in the ITV period drama since it started in 2010, has confessed he thinks the producers are right for deciding to bring it to an end after the upcoming sixth series and 2015 Christmas special.
He said: "It's probably the right time - everything has to come to an end, but we shall miss it enormously.
"I shall miss the fact that it's dictated my life for the last six years, but then there's always the challenge of doing something new so that's alright, I'll take it in my stride."
The 'Golden Compass' actor is not the only star of the show who agrees with the decision to call it a day, however.
Allan Leech - who left his role as Tom Branson last year - shared: "I think we all knew for a while it was going to end and there is a sense of sadness, but also a sense of achievement about what we've done with the show. It's the right time for it to finish."
Meanwhile, Samantha Bond - who plays Lady Rosamund - has revealed she's trying to make the most of filming the final series by soaking up every moment.
She's reported by MailOnline as saying: "You know you're coming to the end of something so you grasp everything, each moment, to enjoy and savour."
And Laura Carmichael, who plays Lady Edith Crawley, admits she's the member of cast who has shed the most tears since the announcement, adding: "We were asked who was going to cry the most and everyone said me. I would say me too, I'm the weak one."
