Fontaines D.C. pay tribute to manager and ‘6th member of the band’ Trevor Dietz

Fontaines D.C. have paid tribute to their late manager Trevor Dietz, who has died aged 47.

The Irish rockers – made up of Grian Chatten, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan III, Tom Coll, and Carlos O’Connell – have been left “utterly heartbroken” following Trevor’s passing.

They wrote on Instagram: “We are utterly heartbroken to let you know that on Sunday June 7th we lost our dear friend and manager Trevor.

“Trevor was beside us from the beginning of our journey as a band, we have never known Fontaines D.C. without him, the sixth member of the band.”

The Starburster hitmakers praised Trevor for being “fearless in his beliefs”.

They added: “He cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always.

“We ask that you kindly respect our privacy and that of his family at this terribly difficult time. RIP Trev.”

Trevor’s cause of death has not been revealed.

The star’s death comes ahead of a huge summer for Fontaines D.C., who are one of the six main headliners for the 2026 Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Last year, the group were forced to axe several concerts in South America, because Grian had to seek “urgent medical attention”.

The Romance hitmakers were due to play in Mexico City, and the Lollapalooza festival in Chile, as well as shows in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia, but they had to pull the plug due to the frontman suffering a herniated disc.

He wrote on the band’s Instagram Story at the time: “I am devastated to announce that, due to a herniated disc, we must cancel our show in Mexico tomorrow night and our forthcoming dates in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.

“I have been really excited to play these beautiful countries for years and it really hurts to be here in Mexico City and not be able to go onstage, but I have been advised today, that I require urgent medical attention.

“We are very grateful for all your support and, with all my heart, I am sorry that I can’t play for you.”
