Reese Witherspoon admits she had "a tough year" after winning an Oscar.
The 38-year-old actress, who announced her separation from Ryan Phillippe in October 2006 after eight years of marriage, believes her career fell apart after she won the prestigious Best Actress prize in 2005 because she was focused on "just trying to feel better" after their split.
Discussing life after her success at the Oscars, the blonde beauty told CBS' '60 Minutes': "Phew, that was a tough year that followed. I got divorced the next year and I spent a few years just trying to feel better."
The 'Wild' star, who has daughter Ava, 15, and son Deacon, 11, with Ryan, and son Tennessee, two, with her current husband Jim Toth, was devastated when her name was included in an article about "washed up" celebrities in 2012, alongside Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson.
She said: "I thought I was reading a profile on another actor, and somewhere at the end it said, you know, the people who are washed up, and at the end it included me, Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson. It really hurt my feelings, really hurt my feelings."
Reese previously admitted she spent a lot of time crying on the floor after her split from Ryan.
She said: "I lay on my kitchen floor and cried a lot and I think at a certain point you just wake up and you're like 'OK, I don't want to feel like this anymore.' And you figure your own s**t out. But no one's going to figure it out for you.
"You can't apologise for being a human being. We all feel weak sometimes, sad and distraught, lost."

Kim Basinger is dating her long-time hair stylist.
The 61-year-old actress, who split from Alec Baldwin in 2002, is reportedly "very happy" after finding love with Mitch Stone, who has taken care of her trademark blonde tresses, as well as her ex-husband's hair for "many years."
A source close to the 'L.A. Confidential' star told Closer Weekly magazine: "After doing her hair for so many years, one day they thought, Hey, why don't we go out on a date? And they have been very, very happy together."
The couple were recently spotted kissing on the beach in Hawaii.
Mitch, who "became a junior Olympic swimmer at the age of 12," has a long list of celebrity clients, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Elle Macpherson and Jennifer Lopez, according to his website.
Kim, who has 19-year-old daughter Ireland with former '30 Rock' star Alec, has kept a lower profile in recent years, but recently revealed she has become more courageous with age.
She said: "My personal philosophy is, by the time I leave this planet I would have wanted to face every single thing I'm afraid of in this world.
"I don't look at anything as dangerous, really. Except as a mom watching a kid - that's danger. But I think, on a personal level, the most dangerous thing I've ever done is really bring up a child and face my own fears. Which, you know, have been many and are becoming less."
The actress was also previously married to make-up artist Ron Snyder-Britton until 1989.

John Krasinski didn't know Emily Blunt could sing.
The 'Into the Woods' actress claims her husband of four years very surprised when she told him she was auditioning for role of The Baker's Wife in the new musical, which recently earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
The 31-year-old star said: "I think he was surprised even to hear that I was auditioning for a musical, because I hadn't really sung in front of him ever - hummed in the car a few times, but nothing really. I think he was pretty taken aback."
The British beauty used to think her mother was just being nice when she praised her vocal ability.
She told E! News: "My mom always thought I was a good singer, but I think all moms think their kids are good singers. That's why you see these poor disillusioned people auditioning for 'American Idol'."
Now that she has faced her fear of singing in public, Emily says she "would be up for" appearing on Broadway in the future.
She said: "I would be up for it, but I would be terrified. I would only want to do it with Rob [director Rob Marshall]. I'll only do it with him. He's the only one who is kind enough to let me mess up."
The 'Devil Wears Prada' star previously admitted that she loves to sing the "old standards" to her nine-month-old daughter, Hazel.
She said: "I like to sing old standards to my baby daughter.
"Some of my favourites for Hazel include songs by Ella Fitzgerald and Otis Redding. She seems to like them."

Kourtney Kardashian still lights up Scott Disick's heart.
The 31-year-old star gushed about his girlfriend of eight years, who recently gave birth to their third child, and admitted he's still besotted with the 35-year-old beauty despite their differences.
In a deleted scene from the latest episode of their E! series, 'Kourtney & Khloé Take The Hamptons,' he said: "I'll say after all this time and all these years we've been together, she can still surprise me and still lighten up my day and my heart."
Scott opened up about his feelings for Kourtney after their close friend Paster Rich Wilkerson Jr., who presided over her sister Kim Kardashian West's nuptials to Kanye West in Florence, Italy last May, urged everyone around their dinner table to participate in "an honour circle" and share one nice thing about the reality TV star after Scott cracked a joke at her expense.
The couple, who have son Mason, five, and daughter Penelope, two, welcomed their second son, Reign Aston Disick into the world, on December 14 after a difficult few months, during which Kourtney banned Scott from their home after arguing over his constant partying.
Scott recently admitted he was convinced he was going to die when he nearly overdosed on alcohol and sleeping pills in June and Kourtney threatened to dump him unless he sought treatment in rehab.
She previously said on their show: "You're either going to be away for a month - or be away from them [the children] forever."

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes' relationship has allegedly hit a rough patch.
The couple, who welcomed their daughter Esmeralda Amada into the world three months ago, are reportedly "barely talking" because the 34-year-old actor has been spending forced extended periods in Atlanta, Georgia filming his upcoming movie, 'The Nice Guys,' while the brunette beauty looks after their baby in Los Angeles.
An insider told the US edition of OK! magazine: "It's more than just run-of-the-mill stress that comes with having a newborn. They're barely talking."
The 'Hitch' star is said to have refused to visit Atlanta, forcing Ryan to fly back to LA on a regular basis.
The source added: "Eva has pushed him away. So instead of coming home every night to them, he's jetting back and forth just so he can see his daughter."
The 40-year-old actress, who started dating the heartthrob in 2011 when they met while filming 'The Place Beyond The Pines', recently admitted she found motherhood exhausting.
She said: "I'm doing it without a nanny for now but I'm open to the idea of having a nanny in the future.
"For me that part of being a mother at this early stage is the struggle of not being able to sleep and not knowing what I'm doing and really going through it with her and battling out those nights."
The couple previously sparked rumours they'd ended their relationship last Christmas because they wanted different things.
A source said last February: "They started having problems back in September [2013]. They decided to quietly call it off for good around Christmas. There is no ill will."

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden want to get married in early 2015.
The 35-year-old rocker, who is rumoured to have proposed to the 'Sex Tape' actress recently after just seven-months of dating, has reportedly "swept her off her feet" and they want to tie the knot as soon as possible.
A source close to the 42-year-old beauty, who previously dated Jared Leto, Matt Dillon and Justin Timberlake, said: "Cameron hasn't been this happy in a long time. She found someone who knew how lucky he was to have her. The other guys treated her badly, but Benji would do anything for her. She's madly in love."
The blonde beauty initially bonded with the former Good Charlotte star because she "has great taste in music," but told friends that she knew he was "the one" because of his "chivalrous ways," according to Us Weekly magazine.
Benji, who now performs in a group with his twin brother, Joel Madden, under the name The Madden Brothers, has also formed a close bond with Cameron's mother, Billie.
An insider previously said: "Billie absolutely loved Benji. She has been gushing about the relationship, saying she hopes Cameron settles down with him."
The 'Other Woman' star recently admitted "timing" was the secret to her happy relationship.
She said: "You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn't want, it's never going to work. You're never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who's in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period."

Kim Kardashian West is spending Christmas in Paris with Kanye West.
The couple, who have 18-month-old daughter North together, were reportedly arguing over where to celebrate the holidays, as the reality TV star wanted to stay at her mother Kris Jenner's home in Los Angeles, but she has now agreed to jet off with her husband.
A source said: "Kanye was adamant that Kim and North spend the Christmas holiday together, away from all of the holiday insanity of the Kardashians. The last thing Kanye wanted to do is spend the holidays with Kim's entire family."
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' beauty, 34, flew to New York City on Sunday night (21.12.14) with the rapper, 37, and North, and they are "expected to remain there for the next few days, and then go to Paris."
But the insider told gossip website RadarOnline.com: "Kim is still hopeful that Kanye will agree to figure out a way to return to Southern California to spend part of the holidays with her family. The problem for Kanye is that Kris' house is just overrun with so many people."
The couple, who got married in Italy last May, were forced to spend Thanksgiving apart last month because Kanye was working on his upcoming album in the French capital.
The 'New Slaves' hitmaker, who has had an apartment in Paris for more than three years, previously admitted he feels more at home in the city than LA.
During an interview last year, he said: "In Paris, you're as far as possible from the land of pleasant smiles. You can just trip on inspiration -- there are so many people here who dedicate their lives to excellence."

Jordin Sparks isn't ready to start dating again.
The 'No Air' hitmaker, who split from Jason Derulo in September after three years of dating, says she doesn't have time for a casual romance, but insists she's in the best place she's been in years.
The 25-year-old star said: "I'm pretty much dating myself, who am I kidding?! I'm not ready to deal with all that. I don't have time for distractions or people who are going to waste my time. But I'm in a really good place. Mentally, physically, spiritually - I'm in the best place I've been in years!"
The former 'American Idol' contestant has ruled out online dating in the future.
Asked if she would consider joining the dating app Tinder, she told PEOPLE.com: "Oh my gosh, never in a million years! If you see a profile on there, it's not me."
But Jordin is open to meeting a man via Twitter.
She said: "I'm a big football fan, so if I tweet about a football player, everybody assumes we're dating! I guess for somebody in my position, something like Twitter is kind of like an online dating site. Not that I'm doing that! But when it comes, I could try it ...
The 'Sparkle' star doesn't have a type, but wants a man with "a good job."
She said: "As long as you're a good man who respects me, it doesn't take much.
"I'm pretty much equal-opportunity: black, white, brown, yellow, I don't care. As long as you've got a good job, it really doesn't matter what you do. You can do construction, you can play sports, you can be a musician ..."

Kelly Clarkson was worried she'd scarred her daughter for life after bringing her on stage.
The 'Since U Been Gone' hitmaker, who has six-month-old River Rose with husband Brandon Blackstock, couldn't resist showing off her little girl while performing in front of 18,500 fans at the sold-out 'Miracle on Broadway' show at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee on Saturday night (20.12.14), but hinted her baby girl wasn't comfortable with the experience.
After proudly showing off her daughter, who was wearing a bright red dress and headphones to protect her hearing, she said: "Isn't she just the cutest? This is her first Christmas and her first Christmas dress and I just had to bring her out here to show her off. I've probably scarred her for life!"
Kelly also revealed she was forced to seek medical treatment shortly before her performance.
According to PEOPLE.com, she told the crowd: "Y'all, I spent all morning in the ER! But don't worry. They gave me a shot of B12 and I'm feeling great and so excited to be here!"
The 32-year-old singer performed a number of tracks from her 2013 Christmas album 'Wrapped in Red' during the star-studded fundraiser, and dedicated the title track to her beau Brandon.
She said: "I had been single a long time and this song was my 'I'm going to do it' moment, my way of saying 'I'm all in.' "
