Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’ relationship has allegedly hit a rough patch.
The couple, who welcomed their daughter Esmeralda Amada into the world three months ago, are reportedly "barely talking" because the 34-year-old actor has been spending forced extended periods in Atlanta, Georgia filming his upcoming movie, ‘The Nice Guys,’ while the brunette beauty looks after their baby in Los Angeles.
An insider told the US edition of OK! magazine: "It’s more than just run-of-the-mill stress that comes with having a newborn. They’re barely talking."
The ‘Hitch’ star is said to have refused to visit Atlanta, forcing Ryan to fly back to LA on a regular basis.
The source added: "Eva has pushed him away. So instead of coming home every night to them, he’s jetting back and forth just so he can see his daughter."
The 40-year-old actress, who started dating the heartthrob in 2011 when they met while filming ‘The Place Beyond The Pines’, recently admitted she found motherhood exhausting.
She said: "I’m doing it without a nanny for now but I’m open to the idea of having a nanny in the future.
"For me that part of being a mother at this early stage is the struggle of not being able to sleep and not knowing what I’m doing and really going through it with her and battling out those nights."
The couple previously sparked rumours they’d ended their relationship last Christmas because they wanted different things.
A source said last February: "They started having problems back in September [2013]. They decided to quietly call it off for good around Christmas. There is no ill will."
