Malin Akerman admits she's had some "ups and downs" this year.
The 'Trophy Wife' actress, who split from her Italian rocker husband, Roberto Zincone, in November 2013 after six years of marriage, says their 20-month-old son, Sebastian, is her "truest love" and credits him for helping her to remain positive.
The blonde beauty, 36, posted a touching photograph of herself kissing her son's nose on Instagram, with the caption: "My truest love... As I reflect upon this past year, I can't help but think about all the ups and downs... everything that helps us grow as human beings. No matter how painful, no matter how joyful, life is a miracle! It is beautiful.
"And the fact that I have this little life to enjoy it all with brings me the biggest joy ever!! I am beyond #thankful for everything that I have been given. So I start this holiday season by saying Thank You and cheers! To life! #happyholidays"
The Swedish-Canadian actress was linked to 'Rizzoli & Isles' actor Colin Egglesfield in April, but she insisted at the time that they were just friends.
She said: "He's a friend of mine. Yeah, I have friends who are guys! He's so sweet [and] lovely."

The former 'The Hills' star, who married law student William Tell during a lavish ceremony at a winery in California in September, admits she just wants to relax at home with her husband over the festive season, as they had "a big year."

She said: "It's the same! It's really nice but really, the same. [laughs] Things are good."

Seth Rogen thinks "freedom has prevailed" after Sony Pictures Entertainment agreed to release 'The Interview'.
The 32-year-old actor is overjoyed the studio has decided to distribute the film to a limited number of cinemas in the US after previously cancelling it's planned release on December 25 because several chains refused to screen the movie, which is about an assassination attempt on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, because of a terrorist threat.
Sharing his excitement on Twitter, the star tweeted: "The people have spoken! Freedom has prevailed! Sony didn't give up! The Interview will be shown at theaters willing to play it on Xmas day (sic)!"
US President Barack Obama previously criticised Sony for pulling the plug on the film, and Seth's co-star James Franco suggested his speech helped empower the studio to move forward with the release.
He tweeted: "'The Interview' starring Seth Rogen and James Flacco saved by President Obacco! I MEAN PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!!! Sorry!!! (sic)"
More than 20 cinemas, located in Atlanta, Texas, Colorado, Virginia and New York, have already agreed to screen the film, according to gossip website TMZ.com.
Sony previously considered trying to release the film online.
In a recent statement, the company said: "Sony Pictures Entertainment is and always has been strongly committed to the First Amendment.
"Free expression should never be suppressed by threats and extortion."

Patrick Schwarzenegger's family "has no problem" with Miley Cyrus.
The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker bonded with the 21-year-old student's uncle Anthony Shriver, who is the founder and chairman of Best Buddies, an international nonprofit that facilitates friendships and employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities, when they were in Miami for the Art Basel festival recently.
A source said: "Anthony had a great time hanging out with his nephew and Miley during Art Basel. He said Miley was a lot of fun. As far as he's concerned, the family has no problem with her."
The insider also told E! News that Patrick's mother, Maria Shriver, has no issue with his new girlfriend and think she is a "very nice girl."
Miley - who ended her engagement to Liam Hemsworth in September 2013 - and Patrick were introduced by mutual friends, even though they "couldn't be more different" to each other.
But the insider said: "They might seem like an odd pairing, but they are quite good for each other. They've been friends forever."
Patrick - whose father is actor Arnold Schwarzenegger - first revealed in 2011 that he had a crush on the former 'Hannah Montana' star.
After admitting he was single, he said at the time: "My eye, though, is set on Miley."

Helena Bonham Carter's friends think Tim Burton "is having a classic mid-life crisis."
The British actress - who confirmed her split from the American director on Tuesday (23.12.14) - is reportedly devastated that her efforts to save their 13-year relationship have failed.
A source close to the 'Harry Potter' star, who has two children, Billy, 11, and Nell, seven, with the filmmaker, said: "Tim is having a classic mid-life crisis. All Helena's friends think he's a terrible old cliche. Helena gave him a lot of time to sort himself out."
Another pal admitted to MailOnline that the actress isn't taking the split well, saying: "Helena was very upset at the Chequers party earlier this month hosted by Samantha Cameron. Other guests noticed she was in a bad way. She is really upset. It's all still very raw and they only told the children two weeks ago."
The former couple have collaborated on more than seven films since Tim, 56, first directed Helena in 'Planet of the Apes' in 2001.
The duo had a famously unconventional relationship, living in two neighbouring houses joined by a communal room.
News of their split comes more than a year after Tim was photographed canoodling with another woman after a cinema date in Hampstead, London in September 2013.
But Helena rubbished allegations he had been unfaithful at the time, saying: "This is absolute nonsense. The pictures were taken whilst they were out and the large group includes family, friends and work colleagues."

Chris Klein has got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Laina Rose Thyfault.
The 'American Pie' actor, who previously engaged to Katie Holmes, proposed to the 29-year-old blonde beauty in Venice Beach, California over the weekend after four years of dating.
A spokesperson for the star told PEOPLE.com: "Chris and Laina are very happy and look forward to celebrating their engagement over the holidays."
A source close to the couple, who met at a mutual friend's wedding, also told UsMagazine.com: "Neither one is interested in a long engagement, so they're shooting for a summer 2015 wedding."
Chris, 35, has kept a low profile in recent years after opening up about his alcohol addiction in 2010.
The 'Mamma Mia' star checked into rehab after being charged with Driving Under the Influence [DUI] for the second time that year and later admitted: "It got to the point where I was a fragile shadow of the young man that came into this business. Today, I'm the luckiest guy alive."
Chris started dating Katie in 2000 and they got engaged three years later, but split in March 2005.
The actress got engaged to Tom Cruise, who she divorced in 2012, just three months later, but her ex-boyfriend previously said: "When we were breaking up, we kept it to ourselves for a while. It looked like it was Katie and Chris together and two seconds later Katie and Tom together, but that's ridiculously compressed... Kate was incredibly respectful about the decision she was making to move on.
"She called and said, 'Listen I want you to know before you see it anywhere else.' "

Clint Eastwood and Dina Eastwood are officially divorced.
The former couple, who announced their separation in October 2013 after 17 years of marriage and have daughter Morgan, 17, were both "restored to the status of single persons" by Judge Susan Matcham, who signed off on paperwork to formally end their union in Monterey, California on Monday (22.12.14) after a lengthy battle over their pre-nuptial agreement.
No details about how they divided Clint's $350 million fortune were disclosed in the divorce decree, but both parties indicated they'd reached a settlement by finally signing legal papers to dissolve their marriage on November 24, according to gossip website RadarOnline.com.
A source previously revealed Clint, 84, and former news anchor Dina, 49, had been arguing over how to divide their assets, but they recently turned to arbitration in a bid to reach an amicable agreement because they didn't want to air their dirty laundry in public.
Clint was allegedly reluctant to give Dina custody of their daughter, spousal support and pay for her legal fees.
The insider said: "Despite a prenup, Clint vowed not to be taken to the cleaners again - especially after his divorce from Maggie Johnson in 1984 cost him $25 million."
The 'Million Dollar Baby' star is now dating hostess Christina Sandera.
