Chris Klein has got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Laina Rose Thyfault.
The ‘American Pie’ actor, who previously engaged to Katie Holmes, proposed to the 29-year-old blonde beauty in Venice Beach, California over the weekend after four years of dating.
A spokesperson for the star told PEOPLE.com: "Chris and Laina are very happy and look forward to celebrating their engagement over the holidays."
A source close to the couple, who met at a mutual friend’s wedding, also told UsMagazine.com: "Neither one is interested in a long engagement, so they’re shooting for a summer 2015 wedding."
Chris, 35, has kept a low profile in recent years after opening up about his alcohol addiction in 2010.
The ‘Mamma Mia’ star checked into rehab after being charged with Driving Under the Influence [DUI] for the second time that year and later admitted: "It got to the point where I was a fragile shadow of the young man that came into this business. Today, I’m the luckiest guy alive."
Chris started dating Katie in 2000 and they got engaged three years later, but split in March 2005.
The actress got engaged to Tom Cruise, who she divorced in 2012, just three months later, but her ex-boyfriend previously said: "When we were breaking up, we kept it to ourselves for a while. It looked like it was Katie and Chris together and two seconds later Katie and Tom together, but that’s ridiculously compressed… Kate was incredibly respectful about the decision she was making to move on.
"She called and said, ‘Listen I want you to know before you see it anywhere else.’ "
