Amy Adams collects wooden birds

Amy Adams collects "carved wooden birds".
The 40-year-old actress loves "kitsch" things and has a special penchant for souvenir statues of her favourite feathered friends.
Discussing her role as American artist Margaret Keane - whose husband Walter Keane claimed credit for her work - in new biopic 'Big Eyes', she said: "It must have been so confusing and strange to have your work celebrated and torn down at the same time but also to get neither credit nor blame, to not be able to speak up for your work in any way. I know it was hurtful when people attacked the work. I know kitsch, by definition, isn't considered art, but I have a lot of things in my life that would be called kitsch and I love them all.
"I have lots of carved wooden birds that you get at souvenir shops, stuff like that."
Amy got to meet with Margaret on several occasions to research her role and was thrilled when the artist gave her one of her paintings - famous for her use of over-sized, doe eyes on her subjects - to keep.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, she revealed: "Margaret gifted me one of her paintings, which was just beyond generous."
Amy's love of kitsch extends to her entertainment choices, as she spent New Year's Eve (31.12.14) singing karaoke with her fiancée, artist Darren Le Gallo, and their four-year-old daughter Aviana.
Revealing how she saw in 2015, the 'American Hustle' star said: "I was at home with my family. We rented a karaoke machine. I'm kind of a music nerd. My favourite this time was something my daughter brought to it. She can be quite shy about performing but she sang Katy Perry's 'Roar'. That was fun to watch."

Nicki Minaj: I used to steal bread

Nicki Minaj used to steal bread to eat when she was a waitress.
The 32-year-old rapper - who was once fired from her job as a waitress at Red Lobster after following and swearing at a customer who took her pen into a car park - has admitted she used to take advantage of her position in an eatery by taking food without paying for it to eat during her younger years.
Speaking in a trailer for her new MTV documentary 'My Time Again', which goes behind the scenes of the making of her latest album 'The Pinkprint', she is seen telling her dancers: "When I was a waitress we had to steal bread and eat that."
The 'Super Bass' hitmaker also admits she endured an "emotional rollercoaster" while recording her third studio album, and has struggled to come to terms with her fame since becoming successful.
She said: "I did not know that this album would entail an emotional roller coaster.
"No one could prepare for this business. Until you are in it, you really can't wrap your brain around it."
Despite struggling to deal with the pressures of fame, Nicki reveals towards the end of the trailer that she relished pushing herself to breaking point while recording an album.
She said: "Every human needs to push themselves to the point of breaking sometimes. If you never break, you never know how much pressure you can take."

Matthew Gravelle not left alone with his children

Matthew Gravelle has joked his wife is wary of leaving their children alone with him after he was unveiled as a killer in 'Broadchurch'.
The 38-year-old actor's character was revealed as the killer of 12-year-old Danny Latimer, whose body was found at the bottom of a cliff, at the end of the first series of the ITV drama and he's now joked his wife Mali Harries has been slightly worried about letting him look after their children Tomi and Ela on his own.
He said: "My wife still finds me attractive so that's something. My ego is unchanged. I'm still at home ... She doesn't like to leave me at home with the kids by a cliff."
In a shock twist Matthew's character Joe Miller pleaded not guilty to the murder in the first episode of the highly anticipated second series, leaving fans questioning whether he really is responsible.
And while it remains a huge secret, Matthew admits he's confided in his wife, saying: "It's a pretty shoddy marriage if you can't confide in your own wife.
"She knows whether or not I did it but she doesn't know the details from episode to episode.
"I'm very lucky to have such a trustworthy wife."
The 'Son of God' actor admits it was difficult keeping his involvement in the second series a secret as people kept offering him their condolences for being written out of the show.
He added to The Sun newspaper: "It was definitely a challenge keeping the secret. I think most people didn't expect I'd be in it anyway.
"They kept saying, 'Bless you, you're not in the second series are you?' They'd say, 'Oh, that's a bit rough'."

Chloe Sims and Elliott Wright split up for good?

Chloe Sims and Elliott Wright have reportedly split up again.
The 'Only Way Is Essex' stars are said to have parted ways for a second time after rekindling their relationship late last year following a number of rows.
A source said: "Chloe has no regrets about having got back with Elliott - she took him away for his birthday last year and they had a lovely time. They also had a romantic Christmas together.
"But in the last few weeks, things have deteriorated and they've been fighting a lot.
"They have now decided that enough is enough and have called it quits. And this time round, Chloe is saying that over really does mean over."
The 32-year-old reality TV star first got together with 34-year-old Elliott on TOWIE when she revealed she wanted a "fairytale relationship" with him.
However, they broke up for the first time just a few months later when she found out he'd slept in the same bed as another woman and although she decided to give him another chance, it now appears their romance is over for good.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "It's obviously sad that their attempts to patch things up have not worked out.
"But Chloe believes this is for the best."
Meanwhile, Chloe - who has nine-year-old daughter Madison from a previous relationship - recently teased fans by posting a picture on Instagram in which Elliott appears to be wresting his hand on a mysterious bump on her belly.
However, Elliott - who has two children with his ex-wife - denied they were expecting a baby by posting a picture of Chloe on New Year's Eve in which she "clearly" looks "not pregnant".

Harry Hill won’t dress in drag for Stars In Their Eyes

Harry Hill would feel "creepy" if he dressed up in drag.
The 50-year-old TV personality - who is hosting the new series of 'Stars In Their Eyes' - will be impersonating different celebrities on the show when it returns this weekend but fears he is too old to dress as female stars.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I'm not going to be any female singers. I'm too old for drag now. I look a bit creepy."
Speaking about how closely the remake will follow the format of the original show, he added: "It's a mix between celebrating 'Stars In Their Eyes' and taking the mickey out of it.
While Harry is happy to give his audience a laugh by dressing up as various popstars, he insists he will be kind to the show's contestants as he doesn't think it would be right to "take the piss out of their performances."
He explained to heat magazine: "Well, I'll find out about them and do gags around that. I can't really take the piss out of their performances - that would trash the format entirely and I think that would be a mistake.
"They will each get presented with a Stars In Their Eyes souvenir pencil. In my mind, the whole thing is about being fun rather than changing their lives or getting a million-pound recording contract."
The 'You've Been Framed' narrator also revealed which singers he'll be dressing up as.
He added: "I'm going to do Pharrell, Daft Punk and George Michael."

Chris Evans has become a grandfather

Chris Evans has become a grandfather.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter has welcomed his first grandchild into the world after his daughter Jade gave birth to an adorable baby named Teddy this morning (09.01.15).
Alongside an image of the newborn on Twitter he wrote: "Teddy Rupert is here !!! Everyone doing brilliantly. Congrats to Ma & Pa, Alison and Wardy, Sandra and Gavin ! (sic)"
Chris first broke the news on 'The Chris Evans Breakfast Show', during which he revealed his eldest daughter - whom he had with former fiancée Alison Ward - had given birth to her baby boy at 8am.
Jade - who married boyfriend Callum in September last year - was born when Chris was just 21-years-old following his engagement to her mother.
He has since been married to three different women, firstly to Carol McGiffin from 1991 to 1998, secondly to former 'Doctor Who' actress Billie Piper - whom he split from in 2007 - and lastly to his current wife Natasha Shishmanian, with whom he has sons Noah, five, and two-year-old Eli.
The 48-year-old radio DJ first announced his 27-year-old daughter was expecting a baby in June, when he revealed her due date was December 29, meaning she's given birth more than a week late.
He said at the time: "Over the weekend, while I was on my sick bed my daughter rang to tell me I was going to be a granddad.
"This now puts me staring straight down the barrel of becoming a granddad at the age of just 48.
"Noah is going to become an uncle as well as little Eli, who is just two, and Tash is going to be a grandma."

Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner ‘unlikely to appear together on screen’

There are no plans for a Bourne film featuring Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner.
Executive producer Frank Marshall has revealed that while Renner is to remain involved with the franchise, he is not set to appear on screen alongside Damon, who agreed to return to the role of the action hero last year.
He revealed: "We don't have plans for that. You never know. I never say never. But that's not the plan. They're on separate tracks."
Marshall also explained why it took so long to convince Damon to return to the role.
He said: "It was really the challenge of finding the story. If you look back five or six years ago, when we were maybe going on, we just didn't have a story. It's taken this long for us to come up with a story that everybody responded to. Now, we're moving forward."
Also returning for the new Bourne film is director Paul Greengrass, and Marshall said he needed all parties on board in order to progress with the project.
Asked if Greengrass was key to the film being made, he told Collider: "No, it was about both of them responding to a story idea. Now, we're off and we're going to go write the script and make it."

Hugh Jackman ‘set to star in Eddie The Eagle film’

Hugh Jackman is to star in a film about Olympian Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards.
The 46-year-old Australian will play Chuck Berghorn, a ski expert from Lake Placid who helped Eddie to prepare for the 1988 Winter Games in Calgary, where he became an unlikely hero after coming last in his two ski-jumping events.
Meanwhile, Taron Egerton has been cast in the role of Eddie, having overcome competition from the likes of George MacKay, Jamie Bell and Daniel Kaluuya, all of whom were considered for the part.
However, Egerton secured the role after performing a "magical" screen-test opposite Jackman, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
The screen-test was shot in New York, where Jackman has been starring in the Broadway production of 'The River'.
Director Dexter Fletcher and producer Matthew Vaughn - who hope to begin filming in the spring - would like 'Mr Turner' star Timothy Spall to portray Eddie's father in the movie.
What's more, it's been speculated that some scenes from the film will be shot in Cheltenham, England, where Eddie was raised, while Take That's Gary Barlow has been lined up to write songs for the movie.

Liam Neeson admits Taken 4 could happen

Liam Neeson admits 'Taken 4' could be made.
The 62-year-old actor stars as a former CIA operative Bryan Mills in the successful film franchise and having just released the third film, he admits there's a chance he'll appear in another.
He said: "I don't think [the 'Taken' franchise] can develop any more to satisfy audiences, but you never know.
"We'll see. We'll see how successful 'Taken 3' becomes."
The latest 'Taken' film leaves room for Neeson's on-screen character to return for a fourth film.
However, he admits that in order for this to happen, the film's writers would have to scrap the "family under threat" formula.
He told Yahoo Movies: "I can't see there being a 'Taken 4' happening unless they take Bryan Mills and put him into something completely different, [a new] scenario with his buddies, you know his little covert group of military buddies."
Meanwhile, Neeson's 'Taken 3' co-star Maggie Grace has admitted he is "incredibly protective" of her.
She said Neeson once called one of her ex-boyfriends to confront him about hurting her feelings.
Maggie explained: "There was this boy who had really hurt my feelings and was kind of being a hot mess, and Liam was just like, 'Let's set this kid straight.'
"It was great."

Mark Ronson’s computer exploded making Uptown Funk

Mark Ronson's computer exploded while making 'Uptown Funk'.
The 39-year-old musician revealed he had a hectic time while making the chart-topping tune when it came to technology, but admitted the hard work was worthwhile though because it's the favourite of his songs.
He said: "I worked so hard. It had to be the first single because I'm most excited about it out of anything I've ever done.
"I was in the studio, playing the guitar. We heard this sizzling and suddenly the computer screen explodes."
Despite feeling "excited" about the single - which broke UK chart history last year when it was streamed a total of 2.34 million times during a single week - the producer confessed it was a struggle to complete the track because of the 'Locked Out of Heaven' singer's busy schedule, meaning it took half a year to finish.
He explained: "Bruno was on tour a lot, so we'd work on the track when we had one day free in LA. Or if he was in London playing Wireless we'd be in my studio. It took around six months to finish with all the to-ing and fro-ing.
"I had to chase him around to finish that song."
However, Mark - who is married to actress and singer Joséphine de La Baume - said the pair continued to work on the track with co-producer Jeff Bhasker for so long because they are always desperate for everything they do to be perfect.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he added: "I'm just a perfectionist and Bruno is probably the only person I know that is even more of a perfectionist than I am. Sitting in the studio going that extra hour, or 13 hours or whatever it takes."

Years and Years top BBC Sound of 2015 poll

Years & Years have topped the BBC Sound of 2015 poll.
The east London pop trio beat off competition from singer-songwriter Rae Morris and grunge pop band Wolf Alice to top the list - which aims to highlight the year's rising musical stars - with the group's frontman Olly Alexander admitting he "nearly passed out" when they discovered they had won.
Speaking on BBC Radio One, he said: "I nearly passed out when I found out. I got quite emotional; there were tears, so many feelings, so many."
The list was voted on by 139 UK-based musical tastemakers who tipped the acts they believed would gain prominence in the following 12 months, with James Bay, Stormzy, Raury and George the Poet completing the top five.
Following their win, the 'Desire' hitmakers say they are planning on releasing their debut album in 2015 to live up to expectations.
Speaking about the LP, bassist Mikey Goldsworth revealed: "It's almost finished."
However, the group's keyboard player Emre Turkmen acknowledged their reluctance to stop writing new songs has delayed the release of the anticipated record.
He added: "We just keep writing new stuff. You could go on forever, really. We're going to stop soon."
Now that they have been tipped for success, the 'Take Shelter' singers joked they won't become "boring" like the poll's 2014 winner, Sam Smith.
The 24-year-old vocalist told music website Popjustice: "We're going to try really hard not to be boring. 'Not boring' - we're going to get it tattooed on ourselves. It will be the word boring with a line through it."

Duchess of Cambridge enjoys ‘private’ birthday celebration

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge is spending her 33rd birthday today (09.01.15) having a quiet celebration.
The Duchess - who was known as Kate Middleton prior to her marriage to Prince William in 2011 - is currently pregnant with her second child and is spending her birthday at her newly-renovated country home, Anmer Hall, with her husband and their 17-month-old son Prince George.
A Buckingham Palace source told PEOPLE magazine that they are "spending the day privately".
After her birthday weekend, the Duchess will turn her attention to the public engagements she has planned for later this month.
For instance, on Monday, January 19, the Duchess will undertake a day of engagements in Kensington, London.
She will make three separate appearances in the London borough, including opening the new Kensington Leisure Centre, where her husband Prince William had swimming lessons.
The Duchess will attend a coffee morning at Family Friends, which provides mentoring services to families in deprived areas of the borough.
She will also formally open Kensington Aldridge Academy, which is for pupils aged 11 to 18.
The Duchess will be given a guided tour of the new building and watch part of a lesson.
