Chris Evans has become a grandfather.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter has welcomed his first grandchild into the world after his daughter Jade gave birth to an adorable baby named Teddy this morning (09.01.15).
Alongside an image of the newborn on Twitter he wrote: "Teddy Rupert is here !!! Everyone doing brilliantly. Congrats to Ma & Pa, Alison and Wardy, Sandra and Gavin ! (sic)"
Chris first broke the news on ‘The Chris Evans Breakfast Show’, during which he revealed his eldest daughter – whom he had with former fiancée Alison Ward – had given birth to her baby boy at 8am.
Jade – who married boyfriend Callum in September last year – was born when Chris was just 21-years-old following his engagement to her mother.
He has since been married to three different women, firstly to Carol McGiffin from 1991 to 1998, secondly to former ‘Doctor Who’ actress Billie Piper – whom he split from in 2007 – and lastly to his current wife Natasha Shishmanian, with whom he has sons Noah, five, and two-year-old Eli.
The 48-year-old radio DJ first announced his 27-year-old daughter was expecting a baby in June, when he revealed her due date was December 29, meaning she’s given birth more than a week late.
He said at the time: "Over the weekend, while I was on my sick bed my daughter rang to tell me I was going to be a granddad.
"This now puts me staring straight down the barrel of becoming a granddad at the age of just 48.
"Noah is going to become an uncle as well as little Eli, who is just two, and Tash is going to be a grandma."
