Tony Blackburn was rejected for a cameo in 'Coronation Street'.
The former BBC Radio 1 DJ has revealed he is the ITV soap's "biggest fan" but admits his attempts to appear on the famous cobbled street and stop off for a pint at the Rovers Return pub have so far been unsuccessful.
He shared: "I love 'Coronation Street'. I've watched practically every episode - I think I'm their biggest fan.
"I've only got one ambition and it's to be on it, to be in the Rovers Return. My agent tried to get me on it... but they wouldn't do it.
"I don't understand why because they've done it with a few celebrities."
The 72-year-old star claims he hasn't let the snubs put him off his favourite show, however, as he still refuses to miss an episode.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I love to record seven or eight, then have a day when I just watch that. It's beautifully written.
"I don't like 'EastEnders', I find it a bit depressing."
Meanwhile, Tony - who was crowned king of the jungle on the first ever series of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' - has confessed he would also like to take to the dance floor on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
He added: "If Strictly asked me, I probably would - but I'm a really bad dancer.
"If they don't ask me in the next couple of years, I think that's it - I'll be far too old. I'd need a Zimmer frame."

Aidan Turner had never heard of 'Poldark' when he was approached to star in the remake.
The 'Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' star has confessed he had to Google the popular 70s series - which ended in 1977, before Aidan was born - when he was asked to take on the lead role in BBC One's upcoming adaptation.
He shared: The offer came in and I said, 'What the hell's Poldark?' I had to Google it, then I called my mum and she said, 'You'd better not mess this up'."
The 31-year-old actor admits there will be no less nudity in the remake than there was in the original show, revealing viewers will see him naked in the sea early on in the eight-part series.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "If I could change anything about Ross Poldark I'd get him some clothes for the second episode."
'Poldark' is based on the novels by Winston Graham and is set in late 18th Century Cornwall and follows Ross Poldark as he attempts to make his derelict tin mines a success after returning from war.
And Aidan admits he chose not to watch the original series, which starred Robin Ellis, as he wanted to give his own take on the character.
He explained: "I was scared I'd emulate Robin's performance, and I wanted to see what I could come up with myself."
Meanwhile, Ellis - who is now 73-years-old - is set to appear in the reboot as a villain.

Charlotte Crosby thinks Carol McGiffin looks like a "sexy military lesbian" since she shaved her hair off.
The 'Geordie Shore' star was devastated to learn her friend - who she bonded with on 'Celebrity Big Brother' - is suffering from breast cancer and wants to take her for a night out to cheer her up, and thinks her pal looks great after shaving head head.
Writing in her Star magazine column, she said: "My friend Carol McGiffin recently announced she has been battling breast cancer. I had absolutely no idea.
"When I read about it, my heart sank and I started crying. She's the strongest woman I've ever met.
"As soon as I'm back home, we're going out and getting drunk.
"When I saw the pictures of her shaved head I thought she looked stunning. She looks like a sexy military lesbian who everyone would want to have sexual fantasies about."
Charlotte - who is currently on a promotional trip to Australia and New Zealand - recently had a tattoo tribute to boyfriend Mitch Jenkins but is already regretting the artwork.
She said: "I went to Bondi Ink in Sydney with some friends - it's the only place I get tattoos done.
"I decided to get an 'M' on my arm for Mitch. My friends didn't think I'd do it, so I thought, 'F**k it - I'll prove them wrong.'
"But I regret it already. I was still a bit p***ed from the day before and was trying to show off."

Dr. Christian Jessen would like to make a show about magic mushrooms.
The 37-year-old physician - who has already co-presented Channel 4 show, 'Drugs Live: The Ecstasy Trial', about the side effects of the recreational drug MDMA alongside newsreader Jon Snow - hopes to make a programme about the effects of taking hallucinogenic mushrooms, but admits his ambitions are somewhat restricted by UK drugs laws.
He told BANG Showbiz: "We're slightly limited by the Home Office to do these experiments. Obviously, they're illegal, so we need to get these complicated licenses. What would I like to do next? Mushrooms or something."
And Dr. Christian, who is currently planning a show about the impact of cannabis, confessed his experience of working in the field of medicine meant he already had firm views on the contentious issue before making 'Drugs Live'.
He shared: "Slightly naughtily, I had kind of already made up my mind on drugs before the shows, because as part of my medicine, I was working with addiction a lot.
"It was always really clear to me that we weren't getting our drugs laws right, and although I was supposed to be impartial, you kind of can't be if you've studied it a lot. So, it's a affirmed what I thought, rather than changed my mind."

Bruce Forsyth has "had enough" of reality TV.
The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' presenter has revealed he is sick of real-life shows dominating channels and would like to see more programmes featuring performers and artists "having fun".
He said: "I have had enough of it. I don't know how long it's been going on but it's probably well over 10 years.
"I'd like to see performers playing together; having fun together; instead of this thing that we're caught up in."
The 87-year-old TV legend - who found fame hosting variety show 'Sunday Night at the Palladium' in 1958 - is also bored of 'Strictly...' rival 'The X Factor' and insists the constant stream of singers appearing on the show is tedious.
He said: "I don't watch it because they have singer after singer after singer after singer... and then, after that, they have another singer. That to me isn't entertainment."
However, the star is pleased the show can provide a platform for young singers who are trying to make a name for themselves in the music industry.
He told Radio Times magazine: "It's a very good show, it's produced very, very well and I'm all for giving young people a chance to become big names, but I want more than two hours of entertainment than only singing."
Bruce - who left his post on 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2013 after fronting the show for a decade - admits hosting the BBC One series was starting to "feel a bit stale" but he isn't ready to retire just yet.
He explained: "It was starting to feel a bit stale. It's an awful thing to feel as a performer, that you're not enjoying it as much as you should do and you're not giving as much as you could.
"At the moment I'm feeling fine. I take every day as it comes. I'm living on borrowed time. I've been given this extra little bit in the twilight of my career, so enjoy it and keep doing what you do."

'Benidorm' star Jake Canuso wants to compete on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The actor - who plays barman Mateo Castellanos in the sitcom - is a big fan of the BBC ballroom show and thinks he could do well because many years ago he used to dance.
When asked if he would like to take part in a reality TV show such as 'Strictly...', Jake said; "You know what I was talking about that long ago I would love to do 'Strictly...' because 555 years ago I used to dance and of course I think they wouldn't get me in because they think I was a dancer, but it was so long ago, I would love to do it."
Jake's previous experience of reality TV was in January 2013 when he competed on celebrity diving show 'Splash!', which was hosted by Olympic diver Tom Daley.
The 44-year-old actor would also like to take part in 'Bear Grylls: Mission Survive' because he would love to challenge himself in the wild.
Recalling one of the survival skills shown on the programme in an interview on 'Lorraine', he said: "I tell you what I'd like to do as well, I'd love to do that Bear Grylls thing. Yeah I would. When they were biting into heart the other day and all that..."
Among the celebrities taking part in the current series of the survival mission are Mike Tindall - the husband of Zara Phillips - Jamelia and Emilia Fox.

Dan Osborne's new baby will appear on 'The Only Way is Essex'.
The 23-year-old hunk - who has 13-month-old son Teddy from a previous relationship - and girlfriend Jacqueline Jossa welcomed daughter Ella Selina into the world last week and he is already planning the tot's TV debut.
Asked if the baby will be on the show, he said: "I believe so. They want to get her on there as soon as they can, as everyone is excited to meet her. It's still going well. I haven't filmed much of the new series yet but I'll be busy."
Meanwhile, Jacqueline is on maternity leave from 'EastEnders' and can't imagine the thought of going back to work any time soon.
She told OK! magazine: "I haven't really thought about it, I can't really imagine working at the moment. But I love my job, so I'm lucky. It must be harder for people who don't like their job so I wouldn't moan about anything, as I'm lucky to like what I do."
However, the 22-year-old beauty was "gutted" to miss out on the show's 30th anniversary 'live week' last week.
She said: "I was gutted! I was still really excited to watch it and I was in it as they gave me the chance to pre-record some scenes, as they obviously wanted me in it.
"I feel lucky to be involved, but I would have liked to do a live show.
"I'll have to wait until the 40th anniversary! But I was glued to the live shows while breastfeeding."
