Tina O’Brien: My daughter thinks ‘everyone is on TV’

Tina O'Brien and Ryan Thomas' daughter thinks "everyone is on TV".
The 31-year-old actress reprised her role as Sarah-Louise Platt in 'Coronation Street' earlier this year and has revealed her daughter Scarlett - who she had with her ex-boyfriend and co-star Ryan - thinks everybody can be on TV because both of her parents, as well as her uncle Adam Thomas, star in soaps.
Tina said: "I told Ryan well ahead of time about my return and he's been brilliant and Scarlett, our daughter, she just thinks everyone is on TV now. She thinks all of her family are on TV because her uncle Adam's on 'Emmerdale' as well, so it's a funny set up."
The blonde beauty also spoke about how her partner Adam Croft - with whom she has five-month-old son Beau - helps out with parenting duties so she can focus on her work.
She told ITV's 'Lorraine': "I've been really lucky. I've got fantastic support. My partner looks after our little boy on Mondays and Fridays and we have our nanny Clare who looks after him."

Jeremy Clarkson meets with Jodie Kidd

Jeremy Clarkson has given Jodie Kidd his seal of approval.
The 55-year-old presenter was seen meeting with the 36-year-old beauty - who is tipped to replace him on 'Top Gear' - in a London pub yesterday (28.04.15), where they spent hours chatting, and as a result betting on her landing the job on the motoring show has now escalated.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Clarkson walked to the pub, taking the back roads to try to shake off photographers.
"But he failed to lose them and he and Jodie sat outside in full view. They looked like they got on like a house on fire."
Jodie currently co-hosts 'Classic Car Show' on Channel Five and admitted at the weekend she is keen to join 'Top Gear'.
Asked whether she wants the job she said: "Why not? Yes! I'm sure we can get two people to sign a petition."
Meanwhile, Jeremy - who was fired from the show following a fracas with a producer in a row over catering - and his former co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May, as well as their executive producer Andy Wilman, could be set to sign a deal with Disney.
The US broadcaster - which part-owns the History channel - is keen to sign the trio up for a new motoring show, but they face competition from streaming service Netflix.
However, it is believed at least one of the trio had a 12-month non-compete clause in their BBC contract, meaning any new show could be at least a year away.

Sam Faiers thinks Joey Essex hates her

Sam Faiers thinks her ex-fiance Joey Essex hates her.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star has revealed she doesn't think Joey will read her new book 'Secrets & Lies', in which she dishes the dirt on the highs and lows of their tumultuous on/off relationship.
Asked if she was nervous about what Joey would think of the book, she said: "Not really. It's not nice reading about yourself, but I'm entitled to my say. He won't read the book, no one in his circle will. They probably all hate me and will think it's an attack against him, but it's not. I'm just honest."
The 24-year-old beauty - who is now dating property developer Paul Day - admits she and Joey knew they weren't right for one another but found it hard to let go.
She explained: "We did really love each other, but we were under so much pressure to be this perfect couple that, when we argued, it would spiral out of control. We tried to save something that wasn't there anymore. We knew we had to call it a day."
Sam also confessed that the lowest point in their relationship was when they broke up on-screen while on holiday in Marbella after he accused her of cheating on him.
She added to Star magazine: "He accused me of being with other guys, when I'd never given him reason to think that. He had people around him telling me negative things about me, and it became reality to him. No one wanted him to be in a relationship with me."

Kym Marsh in ‘outrageous’ pain after being stung by wasp

Kym Marsh was in "outrageous" pain after being stung by a wasp while on holiday.
The 'Coronation Street' star has been on holiday in Marbella, Spain with her fiancé Dan Hooper and her children Dave, Emilie and Polly, as well as her parents, but not everything went to plan when a pesky wasp stung her in the sole of her foot.
Kym said: "I brought the washing in from the line and was folding it up in the kitchen and felt a sharp pain in my foot. I screamed as it was agony and my mum had to pick the wasp sting out! I don't blame the wasp as I'd stood on it, but the pain was outrageous!"
The former Hear'say member also revealed that Dan ran 11km from their apartment in Marbella to Puerto Banus just to get his fiancé some pain relief cream, but is more than happy that she "can't put her foot down".
In her column for OK! magazine, Kym said: "Bless Dan, he ran all the way to Puerto Banus, which is ages away, just to get some sting relief cream for me. I can't put my foot down at the moment and Dan keeps joking that it makes a change!"

Les Dennis leads tributes to Keith Harris

Les Dennis has led tributes to the late ventriloquist Keith Harris.
The 'Coronation Street' actor paid his respects to the TV legend on Twitter after it was announced this morning (28.04.15) that he had passed away aged 67 after battling liver cancer.
He wrote: "So sad to hear of the death of Keith Harris. RIP."
'Celebrity Big Brother' star and TV presenter Keith Chegwin also praised the star and credited him with being a "great entertainer".
He wrote: "So sad. A great entertainer and all round nice man Keith Harris has passed away. Best wishes to his family at this sad time. RIP x (sic)"
The comedian Julian Clary also paid his respects, writing: "Rest in peace Keith Harris. Lovely, funny talented man."
Meanwhile, the documentary maker Louis Theroux - who spent time with Keith during the making of his show 'When Louis met... Keith Harris' in 2002 - tweeted: "RIP ventriloquist Keith Harris. Lovely man. My thoughts are with his family."
The famed entertainer, who is best known for his comedy acts with lovable puppets Orville the Duck and Cuddles the Monkey, passed away at Blackpool Victoria Hospital after a battle with cancer.
Confirming the news on Twitter, Keith's agent Robert C. Kelly wrote: "Sad to announce death from Cancer of my client, dear friend and great talent, Keith Harris.(sic)"
The comedian became a family favourite in the 70s and landed a prime-time Saturday evening programme on BBC One, 'The Keith Harris Show', in the 80s.
As well as his television career, the ventriloquist reached number four in the UK singles charts in 1982 with 'Orville's Song'.
Keith is survived by his wife and three children.

Olly Murs: Replacing Dermot O’Leary is going to be ‘really tough’

Olly Murs thinks it's going to be "really tough" to replace Dermot O'Leary on 'The X Factor'.
The 30-year-old singer has confessed his nerves have "kicked in" following the announcement he and Caroline Flack - with whom he presented the ITV2 spin-off show 'The Xtra Factor' from 2011-2012 - are to replace Dermot following his decision to step down after eight years.
He said: "I can't wait, it's going to be amazing. I think nerves have definitely kicked in a little bit. I'm like, 'Wow, it's going to be quite an amazing thing to do'.
"Obviously at the moment I'm focusing on the tour, but I'm really excited. It's going to be really tough for me and Caroline obviously replacing someone like Dermot."
However, the 'Wrapped Up' hitmaker - who is currently on tour in the UK - thinks he and Caroline will help to mix-up the format of the show.
He told Free Radio: "When we did 'The Xtra Factor', the show had never had a twosome to do it before. It's the first time the 'X Factor', the main show's had that. So we're looking to bring something fresh, something different. Of course Ant & Dec are the pinnacles of that, and do it so well.
"So we just want to be ourselves and have a lot of fun and I think it's going to be really great. I think 'X Factor' and Simon [Cowell] wanted to revamp the show, and do some new changes, and obviously we're delighted to be a part of it. I'm excited! I love TV and I love 'The X Factor'."

Liam Butcher is being written out of EastEnders

Liam Butcher is being written out of 'EastEnders'.
The teenager - who has been played by the actor James Forde since 2008 - will exit the BBC One soap in the summer, it's been confirmed.
A spokesperson for 'EastEnders' told Digital Spy: "We can confirm that James Forde will be leaving 'EastEnders' later this year. We wish him all the best in the future."
James' departure comes after his on-screen mum Patsy Palmer (Bianca Jackson) left the soap last year in a storyline where she and the rest of Liam's family moved away from east London to live in Milton Keynes.
The 18-year-old actor sparked speculation his time in Walford was over last week when he posted a message on Twitter admitting it had been an honour to work with the stars of the soap.
He wrote: "Absolutely honoured to have world with some of the people I have worked with. It's amazing and the future is exciting. (sic)"
Although James' character was just nine-years-old when he first joined the show, he's recently become more prominent having got involved in a gang in 2013 before becoming romantically involved with teen-mum Cindy Williams (Mimi Keene) last year.
The announcement comes after it was revealed certain members of the cast could be set to lose their jobs due to budget issues following the recent signings of stars such as Denise van Outen and Bonnie Langford.

Hayley Tamaddon leaving Coronation Street this year

Hayley Tamaddon is to leave 'Coronation Street' later this year.
The 38-year-old actress, who plays Andrea Beckett on the ITV soap, is set to leave the famous cobbles later this year after staying for two years despite having originally signed up for just three months.
She said: "I will be so lad to leave, I have had the best two years of my life here. It really is one big family. Everyone looks out for each other and I've made some incredible friends."
Andrea will depart Weatherfield as part of a plot described as "central" to the soap's upcoming live episode in September.
Producer Stuart Blackburn shared: "Hayley has brought real magic to the Corrie cobbles - funny, energetic, totally professional and a joy to be around as a friend and colleague alike, she'll be sorely missed and I'd simply like to wish her all the very best for the future."
Although Hayley is preparing to bid farewell to her co-stars in the summer, 'Corrie' bosses are said to be leaving her character's exit open for a possible return.
According to Radio Times magazine, the former 'Emmerdale' actress added: "I am excited about my exit storyline and the fact that is part of the live episode. Corrie has given me a great platform to hopefully go on to work on other dramas but I'd never rule out a return to Weatherfield as I love it so much.
"I am looking forward to what the future holds but in the meantime there is still plenty more to be done here."
The former 'Dancing on Ice' star has since taken to her Twitter account to thank fans for their "kind words" following the announcement.
She wrote: "Sat here reading all your lovely tweets with tears in my eyes. Thank you for your kind words guys. Xxx (sic)"

An onlooker at the time noted: "He started crying and seemed to be cuddling Orville for support."
Keith is survived by his wife and three children.
