Jeremy Paxman loves watching Take Me Out

Jeremy Paxman thinks 'Take Me Out' is "fantastic".
The 'University Challenge' host has revealed he's a big fan of reality TV and particularly enjoys watching the ITV dating show presented by comedian Paddy McGuinness.
He said: "I have watched 'The Only Way Is Essex'. Of course, I know who Joey Essex is.
"I didn't like it as much as I like 'Take Me Out', which I think is a fantastic show."
However, the 64-year-old broadcaster confessed he's not too keen on E4's 'Made In Chelsea' because he doesn't like the show's stars, who include Spencer Matthews, Jamie Laing and Lucy Watson.
He told Radio Times magazine: "I don't like the people in it - it's probably a reflection on me, not them."
Jeremy also admitted he no longer watches the BBC's current affairs programme 'Newsnight' after stepping down as host.
He shared: "I don't have any second thoughts about my decision. I don't see 'Newsnight'. My idea of fun is to go to bed at 10.30pm and read a book."
However, he still maintains an interest in politics and thinks Russell Brand is an "idiot" for encouraging other people to join him in not voting in the general election.
He added: "I'm just astonished anyone would take that position seriously. It's the position of an idiot."

Sheridan Smith: Losing my brother made me ‘value life’

Sheridan Smith admits losing her brother to cancer made her "value life".
The 33-year-old actress' brother passed away aged 18 after losing his battle with the disease and while she tries not to "dwell" on the tragedy, she admits it did affect her attitude towards her own life.
Speaking about portraying cancer victim Lisa Lynch in the upcoming BBC One drama 'The C-Word', she said: "Of course I've been affected by my brother's death, but it's not something I'd want to dwell on now. Because this project isn't about me. It's all about Lisa, and I wouldn't like to lose that focus.
"It's true, though, that losing someone to cancer really resets your perspective. It makes me value life, cherish my loved ones and be grateful for every day I have with them."
The 'Cilla' star shaved off her long blonde locks to play Lisa in the aftermath of chemotherapy and insists she didn't hesitate about going ahead with it because it wasn't a "big deal".
Sheridan told Radio Times magazine: "I was always going to do it. I don't have cancer so it's really not a big deal. And the least I could do was show Lisa's experience as truthfully as possible."
The 'Mrs. Biggs' actress - who was asked by Lisa herself to play her before she died - went on to explain how she prepared for the role without making it feel like "work".
She added: "I met with Lisa's wonderful husband Peter and her brother Jamie. We went for lunch and they gave me little things that made me feel closer to her, like her notepad and the medal she got for doing a cancer walk.
"And of course I had her voice in my head from her blog and our private conversations, and millions of photos, but I didn't want to watch her on video too much. Because it wasn't an impersonation and it wasn't even like doing 'Cilla', where I had months and months of research, watching DVDs and old footage.
"Because I didn't know Cilla - I just had to watch her and note her mannerisms - and somehow I didn't want to do that with Lisa. Because with Lisa, it never felt, and I never wanted it to feel, like work."

Alfie Allen: Ramsay is the ‘new Joffrey’ on Game of Thrones

Alfie Allen says 'Game of Thrones' fans "aren't going to be happy" about upcoming scenes.
The 28-year-old actor - who plays Theon Lovejoy in the HBO drama - has revealed something is set to happen in the middle of the current fifth series that is going to leave viewers shocked.
He said: "There's something that happens about halfway through this season that is really going to make huge waves, and people aren't going to be happy about it. It's hard to watch.
"I bear witness to this thing, and it's crazy, sort of having to portray how messed up everyone's situation is through my own reactions to what happens. Get ready for it."
The 'John Wick' star also hinted that his co-star Iwan Rheon's character Ramsay Bolton is set to become even more evil, having already flayed men, hunted women and cut off Theon's manhood.
Alfie told the website Zap2it: "I would go so far as to say maybe Ramsay Bolton is the new Joffrey in town, and then probably me followed closely after that."
There will also be a new character joining the 'Game of Thrones' cast who Ramsay "enjoys tormenting", and Alfie teased that it's going to be "tough to watch".
He said: "There's this one character who crosses both of our paths, and [Ramsay] certainly enjoys tormenting this character. It can be tough to watch for some people, without a doubt."

Lydia Bright: Arg’s weight loss improved our sex life

Lydia Bright says her sex life with her boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent has improved since he lost weight.
The 25-year-old beauty and her 'The Only Way Is Essex' co-star recently rekindled their romance and Lydia had confessed her beau's newly slimmed down physique has improved his performance in the bedroom.
She said: "We've always been passionate but obviously James has more energy now, which doesn't do things any harm."
Lydia - who has been in an on/off romance with Arg for seven years - added she definitely finds him more attractive now he's slimmed down from 18st 5lb to 14st 5lb.
She said: "He looked fantastic - the first time I saw him after he lost the weight I couldn't believe my eyes. James weighed 18 stone when we met so I'm used to him being bigger, but I definitely fancy him more now.
Arg added: "She's always been in love with me but now she actually fancies me, it's a great feeling."
Before the 27-year-old star got back together with Lydia he spent 28 days seeking treatment in rehab after hitting "rock bottom" and being suspended from the ITVBe show.
He now credits the threat of losing Lydia and his career for good for helping him get his life back on track.
He told OK! magazine: "I knew that if I didn't turn my life around I'd never be able to get my career or Lydia back. Lydia and [co-star] Elliott Wright were the ones who suggested it might be good for me. At first I didn't think I need help but as time went on I realised I'd lose everything if I didn't get help."
Lydia added: "It was such a hard thing to go through but I knew it was the best thing for him. I always had faith he could turn himself around with the right help."

Mel Giedroyc to co-host Eurovision semi-finals

Mel Giedroyc is joining Scott Mills as co-host of the Eurovision semi-finals for BBC3.
The 'Great British Bake-Off' host is thrilled to be fulfilling a childhood dream of being a part of the annual competition when she steps into the commentary box on May 19 and 21 alongside the DJ, who has fronted the coverage since 2011.
She said: "Words cannot express my excitement to be joining Scott and the BBC Eurovision team in Vienna this year! I have dreamed of this since the age of nine, when my siblings and I would mount our own Eurovision at home, taking the parts of different countries.
"I would always be allotted Mexico and only at the very end of our competition, would be disqualified on the grounds that I was not part of the European Union.
"I can't say that I'm any more geographically savvy than I was then, but I hope to bring some truly trivial Eurovision knowledge with me, and certainly a lot of deep love for the contest."
The 41-year-old broadcaster is excited to have Mel on board for the two shows in Vienna, which will see the number of countries competing in the main event narrowed down to 40.
He said: "Just when I thought that Eurovision couldn't get any better, I find out I get to present it with fellow Eurovision fan Mel Giedroyc.
"Eurovision is always amazing fun but that fun just hit extreme levels now that Mel is involved and I can't wait to get to Vienna and geek out with her."
The UK, along with France, Germany, Italy, Spain, host country Austria and guest competitors Australia, receive automatic entries into the final, which takes place on May 23.

Lena Headey wants to show off her funny side

Lena Headey wants to star in a comedy.
The 'Game of Thrones' actress has revealed that while landing the role of Cersei in the HBO drama was a "blessing", she wants to show fans that she's capable of playing a range of very different parts.
She shared: "I'm getting more offers to play similar kinds of characters, but I would also like to do a comedy. Most of my friends would tell you that I have a very humorous side and it would be wonderful if I finally had the chance to show my funny nature in a movie."
The 41-year-old star - who has five-year-old son Wylie with ex-husband Peter Loughran and is now expecting a baby girl - also confessed she can't understand why she's only just shot to fame after taking on her first acting job at the age of 17.
She told HELLO! magazine: "It's been extraordinary, although you do wonder why it's taken so long. You have to be persistent in this business. No one really gives you anything and there's a lot of luck involved. I've played in films I thought would lead to bigger and better things, then nothing happens.
"In a way, it's all been a blessing for me. I have a son to look after and I feel that the best part of my life is happening now."

Will Mellor to replace Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear?

Will Mellor is in the running to be the new host of 'Top Gear'.
The 39-year-old actor has emerged as a new favourite to replace the fired Jeremy Clarkson on the motoring show as BBC bosses think he is someone the programme's audience would relate to and could attract a younger audience to the show as well as more women.
Will is said to be very interested in taking the job and isn't put off by the pressure of replacing Clarkson.
A source exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Will has emerged as one of the favourites for the job. Bosses think he would be perfect to take the helm and would bring a younger audience with him that has grown up with him on 'Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps' and 'Hollyoaks'. He also has a lot of female admirers who could tune in, which is something that Clarkson didn't have."
Will has worked with the BBC for years on various sitcoms and dramas, most recently appearing in baby drama 'In the Club' opposite Jill Halfpenny, and is highly regarded by the corporation.
Other stars that have been linked to Clarkson's old job include Chris Evans and Sue Perkins - both of whom have ruled themselves out of the running - Johnny Vaughan, Dan Walker, John Bishop and Jodie Kidd.
Meanwhile, Clarkson's co-star James May has confessed he thinks it will be "virtually impossible" for 'Top Gear' to continue without Clarkson while executive producer Andy Wilman has resigned from his position sparking speculation Clarkson, May, Richard Hammond and Wilman are going to launch their own rival show.
May said previously: "Me and [Richard] Hammond with a surrogate Jeremy is a non-starter, it just wouldn't work ... It has to be the three of us. I don't think you could carry on with two people and put someone in as the new Jeremy because they are not going to be the new Jeremy. That would be short sighted and I don't think it would work. Virtually impossible."

Claude Littner to replace Nick Hewer on The Apprentice

Claude Littner is replacing Nick Hewer as Lord Alan Sugar's advisor on 'The Apprentice'.
The BBC has announced that the formidable businessman - known for his severe interviewing strategy - will be taking over from Nick, following the 71-year-old star's decision to step down from the role in December 2014 after ten years as Lord Sugar's aide.
Claude will join Karren Brady at Lord Sugar's side, and has promised he won't let it be "a walk in the park" for this year's candidates.
He said: "If the candidates think I am soft and fluffy, they haven't been watching me on 'The Apprentice' over the past decade. I will now be assessing their performance in the process, individually and within their teams.
"I will be reporting to Lord Sugar to play my part in ensuring that his personal investment of £250,000 goes to the best candidate. I'm ready, and this won't be a walk in the park!"
Claude is already well known and loved by 'The Apprentice' viewers - and feared by candidates - thanks to a decade as an integral part of the formidable interview episode.
Lord Sugar said: "I first worked with Claude in 1990 and trust his judgement completely. He will no doubt take a very different approach to Nick. It's great to have him on board."
