Jay McGuiness came "so close" to getting married in Las Vegas.
The Wanted singer has been enjoying a break in the gambling capital and admits he "stumbled" into a chapel in wedding attire but insists he and his mystery partner saw sense and decided not to "pull a Britney", referring to Britney Spears, who famously tied the knot with childhood friend Jason Alexander in the city before having the union annulled 55 hours later.
Jay tweeted: "So close to pulling a Britney lol. But she's come good in the end so why the [bird emoji] not?!
"For the askers- no I didn't get married, doesn't mean we didn't stumble to a chapel in Vegas in hastily bought suit & dress. But no wedding.(sic)"
He later posted a picture on Instagram of himself in a ruffled shirt with a female companion - who had a cartoon face imposed over her own - next to a wedding chapel sign.
He wrote alongside it: "We look so responsible and sober... And ruffles..(sic)"
The 'Chasing the Sun' singer has previously admitted he prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight.
He has said: "I wouldn't announce I was going out with a girl until I wanted it to be known we were going out.
"I think if you announce it there's more pressure on you to talk about it.. These boys deal with it pretty well."

Selena Gomez wants to "move on" from Justin Bieber.
The 'Come And Get It' hitmaker - who split from her on/off boyfriend earlier this year - won't be taking any inspiration from her recent heartbreak when she hits the studio.
A source said: "She is working on new music but songs about Justin are not in the plan. Her new album is going to be a completely new sound and a new vibe.
"She wants to gear things more toward Ariana Grande and EDM. Moving on, she also wants to move on from Justin, so her songs, even though everyone will interpret them to be about Justin, are not about him at all."
While the 22-year-old singer has been discouraged from writing about the 'Boyfriend' hitmaker, his close friends are hoping for the opposite from him.
An insider told HollywoodLife.com: "People in Justin's close circle - like Usher and the others that make money off of him - are really hoping that in 2015, Justin will use his relationship with Selena to make an amazing album.
"They are urging him to write down his feelings and turn them into hit records. Look at all the amazing songs that have come from lost love, like Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me A River'.
"Everyone close to Justin thinks it's best to move on and remember the good times, but use the bad times as a career enhancer."

Dr. Luke insists a birthday card Kesha sent him proves he didn't abuse her.
The music producer, who is counter-suing the 'Tik Tok' hitmaker for defamation after she filed legal documents seeking to have their record contract dissolved and accused him of sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abusing her for almost a decade, has submitted a number of pieces of correspondence from the singer as part of his evidence against her.
The undated card reads "You just keep getting hotter every year".
It also includes an affectionate handwritten message from Kesha which says: "To the FOXXY-est producer EVER!"
"Thank you 4 helping me make my WILDEST dreams come true!
"I LOVE YOU!(sic)"
The documents also include friendly emails from Kesha's mother Pebe Sebert - who is suing the producer for allegedly causing her to suffer post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) - in which she pledged to always be there for him.
According to TMZ, one note read: "I hope you know, as much as you have been there for Kesha and me, that we will always be there for you, as family, and friends, if you need anything."
Dr. Luke is also suing Kesha's mother claiming she orchestrated a smear campaign of lies against him and tried to extort him in a desperate attempt to get the 27-year-old singer out of her contract with him.
The 'Blow' hitmaker denied during a deposition for an unrelated lawsuit in 2011 that Dr. Luke - real name Lukasz Gottwald - had made any sexual advances towards, but her lawyer said the producer threatened her would hurt her if she ever discussed the alleged rape.

Jack O'Connell was asked to speak in a different accent when he met Louis Zamperini for the first time.
The British actor - who hails from Derby - was asked to speak in an American accent instead of his northern twang in case the Olympic distance runner, who he portrays in Angelina Jolie's latest movie 'Unbroken', couldn't understand him, but the request left Jack feeling "uneasy" and "intrusive".
He said: "I was quite frustrated, it became the studio's meeting, all on film under the lights in his living room.
"I sensed he felt uneasy, and it made me feel intrusive so I gained very little from it. I was even asked, would I speak in an American accent, to give him a chance of understanding me, and I thought, what are we dealing with here? How's about I just give a clear version of my accent, which does exist, by the way, America?
"I was wrestling with that a little bit... as you may be able to tell."
But Jack's second and third meetings with the late World War II prisoner of war survivor - who died from pneumonia in July this year aged 97 - were much more productive.
He said: "He got his notebook out and some of his memorabilia, and his family were so welcoming, so I felt I had their seal of approval. So I was in Australia having known this fellow, and trying to pay tribute with this film."
What's more, on the film set Jack was extremely impressive with just how well Angelina carried herself especially under the intense heat that came with shooting in Australia.
He added to The Huffington Post UK: ""She wanted the best for both of us, and she stuck with that right through. I saw her excel herself every day on that set, while engaging with everyone throughout the crew as a total equal, under that pressure and in that sort of Australian heat. It's very difficult to keep your manners, I guess, but she did it all effortlessly, which kind of makes me feel like no one else has any excuses.
"She pitched the role of Louis to me, and I pitched my adoration for the men of Louis' generation, and I think she responded to that."

Blake Lively shares a bed with her entire family on Christmas Day.
The 'Savages' actress - who is expecting her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds - loves getting to spend quality time with her parents and older siblings Eric, Lori, Robyn and Jason, over the festive season.
She said: "I don't know how my family tends to...everybody gets in the same bed.
'Somehow we just spend seven hours a day all together just chatting and it's really nice to have that time, because it's rare that we get together for such a nice chunk of time.
"We never leave the house."
The 27-year-old beauty didn't explain whether her spouse joins in the family fun, but did share that she and her relatives like to do activities once they finally get out of bed.
In a video interview posted online by The Kit, she said: "We're together all day whether we're making gingerbread houses, or baking cookies, or sitting around and watching movies all piled up."
The former 'Gossip Girl' star praised the baking talents of both her parents, but admits she prefers her father's cookies because her mother refuses to share.
She said: "My dad makes good cookies, my mom makes good ones but she doesn't really share them. I love the smell but it's just tantalising."

Kelly Clarkson spent the morning in hospital before her fundraising concert on Saturday (20.12.14).
The 'Breakaway' hitmaker staged the 'Miracle on Broadway' event at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena at the weekend and told the sell-out crowd she had sought medical treatment to ensure she was well enough to perform.
She said: "Y'all, I spent all morning in the ER. But don't worry. They gave me a shot of B12 and I'm feeling great and so excited to be here!"
Joining Kelly at the show were singers including Hayley Williams, Meghan Trainor and Garth Brooks, but the first special guest to take to the stage was her six-month-old daughter River Rose - her child with husband Brandon Blackstock - who donned headphones and a red dress to match her mother's.
Proud Kelly, 32, said: "Isn't she just the cutest? This is her first Christmas and her first Christmas dress and I just had to bring her out here to show her off. I've probably scarred her for life!"
During the show, the former 'American Idol' star performed several tracks from her 2013 Christmas album 'Wrapped in Red' and revealed the title track was written for her husband.
She explained: "I had been single a long time and this song was my 'I'm going to do it' moment, my way of saying 'I'm all in.' "
Just before the finale, Kelly was delighted to announce that over $200,000 had been raised for four local charities from ticket sales and text and online donations.
She then cried tears of joy when performer Trisha Yearwood ran out and whispered in her ear.
Kelly revealed to the crowd: "Trisha just told me that she and Garth are going to match every dollar we raise tonight. This really is a miracle! I love y'all so much and can't wait to do it again. Merry Christmas and see you next year!"

Thandie Newton and David Haye have been named the Sexiest Vegan Celebrities of 2014.
The 42-year-old actress and the heavyweight boxer were awarded the joint title by animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for their efforts in promoting compassion for animals and encouraging plant-based eating.
The pair will receive a box of vegan chocolates and a framed certificate to recognise their achievement.
Thandie has been vocal in the past about her dislike of animals suffering and its effects on the environment.
She previously said: "I don't want any kind of suffering of any living form .... animals are being pumped full of growth hormones which are then getting fed to our kids. And it's affecting the water, environment."
The 'Crash' actress also once tweeted: "While expressing my milk realised that the equivalent for cows is my milk going to the mouths of people who murder and eat my family #VEGAN. (sic)"
David only became a vegan at the start of the year after watching a documentary about how animals are prepared for people to eat.
He explained: "I watched a TV documentary about how animals are farmed, killed and prepared for us to eat.
"I saw all those cows and pigs and realised I couldn't be a part of it any more. It was horrible. I did some research to make sure I could still obtain enough protein to fight and, once satisfied that I could, I stopped. I'll never go back."
Thandie and David's victory means they follows in the footsteps of other big names who have won the accolade, including Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, singer Leona Lewis, actress Lily Cole and comedian Russell Brand.

The 25-year-old singer has sensed her two furry felines, Meredith and Olivia - who are named after 'Grey's Anatomy' character Meredith Grey and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit's Olivia Benson - have grown envious of her thumbs as they cannot stop staring at their owner's digits.
Taylor took to her Instagram account to upload a video of her pair of pussies looking all solemn while attempting to get into a packet of cat food with their tiny paws.

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow enjoyed a spa day together on Sunday (21.12.14).
The former couple - who announced they were separating in March after over nine years of marriage - enjoyed an afternoon of pampering with their children Apple, 10, and eight-year-old Moses at New York's i-Plaza Nail & Spa.
An onlooker told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "They seemed very affectionate toward each other. They were laughing a lot, making jokes, and Chris even had his arm around Gwyneth."
The whole family enjoyed relaxing massages and the 37-year-old Coldplay frontman kept everyone entertained by dancing and singing along to the festive music playing in the salon while they waited for Apple to finish her manicure.
While it is unknown how much the family enjoyed their beauty treatments, a nail artist who previously treated Gwyneth, 42, recently revealed the 'Iron Man 3' actress made "orgasmic noises" when she had a pedicure.
