Guardians of the Galaxy is full of ‘change’

'Guardians of the Galaxy' director says he is "developing a new kind of story" for the sequel.
James Gunn has claimed that the next instalment of the superhero movie will be full of "change" as he delves deeper into the Guardians' characters.
He shared: "Really, it's just about walking forward in an elegant manner. When you go forward with a group of characters ... you're understanding these characters in a new way, you're developing a new kind of story about their lives and who they are and where they're going.
"And if you're doing that, if you're walking forward, then you can't just repeat what you did before. That's going backwards. That's not understanding the character.
"The Guardians are going to continuously change. I think that some of the characters are probably worse than what we think they are, and other characters are better than what we think they are. It's going to be interesting to learn a little bit about that as time goes on."
The 44-year-old director also revealed he had been galvanised by the public's reaction to the first film - which starred Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Vin Diesel - and is "excited" to start working on its sequel.
He told the website Comic Book Resources: "I would much rather create 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' right now. People are excited about it. That excites me. And that fuels me. So, definitely, the audience's interaction with the film definitely does influence me in that way."

Evangeline Lilly refuses to compromise her womanhood

Evangeline Lilly has no interest in pretending to be a man.
The 35-year-old actress, who stars in 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies', has spoken of her determination to play well-rounded on screen characters, and insists she will not compromise her womanhood.
Evangeline said: "I don't like the idea of playing a one-dimensional character who is just fearless, strong and killer and has instincts and just thrives in dangerous circumstances - that's really boring to me and I don't think it represents what most women feel inside.
"I'm very proud of being a woman, and as a woman, I don't even like the word feminism because when I hear that word, I associate it with women trying to pretend to be men, and I'm not interested in trying to pretend to be a man. I don't want to embrace manhood, I want to embrace my womanhood."
The actress, who starred in the TV series 'Lost' from 2004 to 2010, also revealed she doesn't chase on-screen roles, saying she waits for filmmakers to approach her.
She told HuffPost Entertainment: "I have been a bit of a reluctant actress since the get-go, since the beginning of 'Lost'.
"I've been focused during the last five years on my writing career and I've just been fortunate and lucky enough to have some pretty great filmmakers come to me and say, 'We'd like you to play this role or that role.'"

Gina Carano cast in Kickboxer remake

Gina Carano has been cast in the 'Kickboxer' remake.
The 32-year-old former mixed martial artist is to play a fight promoter in the new film, which will also feature Jean-Claude Van Damme, wrestler Dave Bautista and Georges St. Pierre, who starred in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.
In the eagerly-awaited new film, Jean-Claude, 54, will play the part of a martial arts mentor, while Kurt Sloane assumes the leading mantle, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Kurt's on-screen character is a talented fighter, who travels to Thailand in order to develop his kickboxing mostly so he can confront Tong Po - the man who killed his brother - who is played by Bautista.
Jean-Claude stars as Master Chow, who passes on his knowledge of kickboxing to Kurt's character.
The 'Kickboxer' remake sees Gina reunite with director John Stockwell, who was responsible for 'In The Blood', the action film that also featured Puerto Rican actor Luis Guzmán.
And before the 'Kickboxer' film hits cinema screens, Gina can be seen in 'Bus 657', the heist thriller that also stars Bautista, as well as Hollywood legend Robert De Niro.

Al Pacino hints at role in a Marvel film

Al Pacino has suggested he could appear in an upcoming Marvel film.
The 74-year-old actor has revealed he's met with Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, and has suggested he may soon star in a comic book-inspired film from the studio behind the 'Thor' and 'Iron Man' movies.
He told the Happy Sad Confused podcast: "I've met with the Marvel guy. It's a Marvel how things happen.
"I would imagine that either there's something he feels is right for me and if I feel..."
At that point, Al was interrupted by a telephone call and quipped it was Marvel calling to prevent him from revealing any spoilers of the film.
Last week, Benedict Cumberbatch was cast in the lead role in Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'.
The 38-year-old Brit was linked to the coveted role for a number of months and his casting was confirmed by the film studio.
Kevin Feige, 41, said: "Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."
The film is being directed by Scott Derrickson, who helmed 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose', and is set for release in October 2016.

James Gunn has finished Guardians of the Galaxy sequel

James Gunn has finished writing the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' sequel.
The 44-year-old director has revealed he's already created a follow-up story to the hit 2014 sci-fi adventure film and admits he's "very excited about it".
He said: "Well, I'm really inspired. The whole story is written. I'm very excited about it. And that's where it is. But the story point for me is, in a lot of ways, the most difficult thing.
"I feel like it's pretty strong. It's constantly shifting, but I feel it's pretty strong. I'm excited about it."
The 'Dawn of the Dead' writer claims the sequel will be very different to the original film, as he thinks that's necessary if the characters - including Chris Pratt's Peter Quill and Zoe Saldana's Gamora - are to develop.
Gunn explained to Comic Book Resources: "Really, it's just about going forward in an elegant manner. When you go forward with a group of characters, that means you have to go forward.
"And going forward means you're understanding these characters in a new way, you're developing a new kind of story about their lives and who they are and where they're going.
"And if you're doing that, if you're walking forward, then you can't just repeat what you did before. That's going backwards. That's not understanding the character."
'Guardians of the Galaxy' expanded the Marvel Comics cinematic universe into the cosmos, where adventurer Peter Quill found himself the object of a bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb, wanted by a powerful villain named Ronan.

George Lucas hasn’t seen new Star Wars trailer

George Lucas "hasn't seen" the latest 'Star Wars' trailer.
The 70-year-old director may have created the space opera but since selling his franchise to Disney in 2012, he has yet to catch up on the newest instalment.
Referring to the promo film for 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens', George explained: "I don't know anything about it. I haven't seen it yet."
When asked why he has so far refrained from watching the clip, which has been viewed more than 72 million times on YouTube, he told the New York Daily Post newspaper: "Because it's not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there.
"I plan to see it when it's released."
The trailer for the movie, which has been directed and written by J.J. Abrams, features a new lightsaber and the Millennium Falcon spaceship.
Due out in cinemas from December 2015, the new film stars Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Harrison Ford as Hans Solo and Mark Hamill will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker.
In October, Jett Lucas - George's son - explained how his father was still very much involved in the 'Star Wars' process.
He told the website Flicks and the City: "He's constantly talking to JJ.
"Obviously JJ was handpicked. He is there to guide, whenever, he'll help where he can. At the same time, he wants to let it go and become its new generation."

Andy Serkis gets Gollum greeting ’10 times a day’

Andy Serkis gets greeted by people saying "my precious" up to "10 times a day".
The 50-year-old actor played Gollum in the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy and 'The Hobbit' films and says people always address him using the character's iconic catchphrase.
When asked how often people quote the line at him, he said: "It varies. Between twice and 10 times a day, every day,"
Following the release of the final film, 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' earlier this month, the acclaimed actor said he is proud to have been a part of the franchise because they are timeless and rooted in the real world.
He told The Huffington Post UK: "That's what these movies are, not just flights of fantasy, they are reflective of the world.
"This latest one's all about greed and corruption, it couldn't be more pertinent, and that's why they endure. The writers understand the zeitgeist."
The 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' star went on to explain he thought Gollum was a good reflection of real world problems because he had an addiction.
He added: "And Gollum was part of that. The ring for him was something that was controlling him to a huge degree, like a huge strong addiction that he couldn't shake off, that had a physical effect as well as psychological."
