Tyga hits back as Doja Cat slams him over new AI album

Tyga has responded to Doja Cat’s criticism of his new AI album $tarface.

The Jealous Type singer took aim at Tyga – with whom she previously collaborated on two songs – during a livestream on social media on Wednesday (12.08.26).

She said: “Nobody asked me anything about Tyga, but I felt like saying this. Tyga is a penis for making an AI album.”

Tyga then made an appearance on TMZ Live, where he was asked for a response to Doja’s comment.

Speaking about her recent work, Tyga said: “Listen, I love Doja, but she made a demonic album.”

He didn’t name the album he was referring to, but Doja’s most recent record is Vie, which she dropped in September 2025.

He added: “But I still love her.”

Tyga recently revealed that he generated a 1980’s-inspired sound for his new album using AI, telling VIBE magazine: “It’s supposed to give you an experience and a feeling. But we definitely used AI as a [tool].”

He also pre-empted criticism about the AI move, as he said: “I know people are going to be mad about me saying this, but it’s where technology is going.

“It’s no different than when AutoTune came out. Some people were opposed to it, but real artists took it and used it.”

During the TMZ Live appearance, Tyga clarified that he’d only used AI for production purposes, and had written the lyrics himself, as well as performing the vocals live.

The feud with Doja Cat comes after Tyga spoke to People about wanting to reinvent his sound with the new album.

He said: “I just feel like there’s no rules anymore,. You don’t have to put yourself in a box on what things have to be creatively. I’ve been in the game for 15 years-plus. So, after a while, you just got to try different stuff.”

Of the new record he added: ‘This is the first project that people are seeing that’s completely different than other things that I’ve done.

“This character, $TARFACE, is a completely separate artist, completely separate aesthetic and everything.”
