Halle Berry soothes her ‘artistic itch’

Halle Berry doesn't mind making movies that "only five people see".
The Oscar-winning actress stars in the mid-budget movie 'Frankie and Alice', which centres on a woman with a personality disorder, and Halle says she was determined to appear in the film because she needed to "get it out of [my] system".
She reflected: "If you have an artistic itch, and there's a story you want to tell, you go on that journey and do it anyway. And if only five people see it, it's worth taking the time to make the journey, to do the art.
"If for no other reason than to get it out of your own system. The value for me wasn't tied to the box office in any way. These little movies are hard to do, people don't always want to see them."
The film is based on a true story, and Halle - who also produced 'Frankie and Alice' - admits she found the experience of making it to be very rewarding.
She told the Guardian newspaper: "My feeling of success was from the sheer accomplishment of meeting a woman, being inspired, saying I'm going to make a movie about a dark subject and shedding some light on it. And challenging myself to get it done.
"That was my reward - to do something I set out to do."

Neill Blomkamp admits to Elysium errors

Neill Blomkamp admits significant mistakes were made in making 'Elysium'.
The 2013 sci-fi film was released amid huge anticipation but the 35-year-old director has confessed it fell well short of expectations.
Speaking specifically about the script, Blomkamp told Uproxx: "I feel like, ultimately, the story is not the right story.
"I feel like I executed all of the stuff that could be executed, like costume and set design and special effects very well. But, ultimately, it was all resting on a somewhat not totally formed skeletal system, so the script just wasn't there; the story wasn't fully there."
The confession comes shortly after Blomkamp said his new 'Alien' movie will feel like the "genetic sibling of Aliens".
His eagerly-awaited movie will disregard 'Alien 3' and 'Alien: Resurrection' and will carry on from the James Cameron-directed 'Aliens' in 1986.
Blomkamp said: "I want this film to feel like it's literally the genetic sibling of Aliens. So it's Alien, Aliens, and then this movie."
Added to this, Sigourney Weaver, who starred in the 1979 original 'Alien' movie, revealed she hopes the new film will complete the story of her on-screen character Ellen Ripley.
She explianed: "I would love to take Ripley out of orbiting around in space, and give a proper finish to her story."

Bill Nighy ‘got busted’ smuggling Marmite

Bill Nighy "got busted" trying to sneak Marmite through airport security.
The 65-year-old actor, who stars alongside Dame Judi Dench in 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', has revealed his love of Marmite and Yorkshire Tea, both of which he tried to take with him to India when filming the new movie.
He explained: "I know you'll say it's crazy to take tea to India and yes, it is. It's completely bonkers, really.
"The problem is that I'm addicted to Yorkshire Tea, and for me, nothing else can really hit the spot. I like it very strong - my grandmother used to say that with a good cup of tea you could stand the spoon up in it.
"I used to use two teabags in a cup, although I've weaned myself down to one now, which I'm quite proud of. But there's no taking the teabag out of the cup or anything - it stays there until the tea is somewhere between dark brown and orange. I take Yorkshire Tea with me wherever I go.
"And Marmite, well, you've just got to have it. I got busted at Heathrow this time, because I was carrying a jar that was too big to take through security."
However, luckily for Bill, an airport employee went out of his way to ensure he could enjoy the food spread while shooting scenes in India.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "So the young man who was accompanying me went round all the cafes in the terminal and collected 30 tiny jars, so I could dispense the Marmite into individual allowable sizes."

Harrison Ford returns for ‘uniquely potent’ Blade Runner sequel

Harrison Ford is to star in a "uniquely potent" 'Blade Runner' sequel.
The 72-year-old actor, who played the character of Rick Deckard in the 1982 original, will return to the role in the screenplay written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green and directed by 'Prisoners' filmmaker Denis Villeneuve.
Producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson said in a joint statement: "We are honoured that Harrison is joining us on this journey with Denis Villeneuve, who is a singular talent, as we experienced personally on 'Prisoners'."
The much-anticipated film will also see the return of Ridley Scott, who will produce the sci-fi sequel alongside Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.
The statement added: "Hampton and Michael, with Ridley Scott, have crafted a uniquely potent and faithful sequel to one of the most universally celebrated films of all time, and we couldn't be more thrilled with this amazing, creative team."

Speaking late last year, Scott revealed: "Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it's about finding him.
"He comes in in the third act."

Daniel Craig suffers bump to head on Spectre set

Daniel Craig suffered a bump to the forehead on the set of 'Spectre'.
The 'Skyfall' actor, who plays James Bond in the spy films, suffered yet another injury while filming scenes for the upcoming latest instalment in the franchise when his character's Aston Martin hit a pothole in Rome, Italy.
A source revealed: "Everyone held their breath because it was a bit of a bump but he was given the all clear by the medical team."
The 46-year-old hunk was shooting a night-time scene with new villain Dave Bautista, also 46, when the vehicle dipped into a crack in the road causing him to hit his head.
The incident came just weeks after Craig - who was recently spotted flying into London wearing a flat cap ahead of his 47th birthday next week - injured his leg while filming in Austria while assistant director Terry Madden suffered multiple leg fractures in a car crash just days later.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Fingers crossed there won't be any others."
Craig is scheduled to return to Rome next week to continue filming.

Sean Penn has learned to cope with negativity

Sean Penn has "plenty of walls" he can kick if criticism upsets him.
The Academy Award-winning actor - who stars alongside Idris Elba and Ray Winstone in his new film 'The Gunman' - says he's grown used to negative comments and insists he's found a healthy way of coping with abuse.
Sean told ShortList magazine: "You just have to take the sh*t. I got plenty of walls I can kick if it upsets me, but mostly I'm pretty thick-skinned."
The 54-year-old star, who helped victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and founded the J/P Haitian Relief Organization in 2010 following an earthquake in the country, also rejected the idea that he's an example of 'limousine liberalism'.
He reflected: "When you're in a position like I've been lucky enough to be in, forget about what my organisation does, or the high-dollar operations, everybody - a school teacher or an actor or whoever - has an obligation to speak out and play a part."
Meanwhile, Sean recently revealed that his current partner - actress Charlize Theron - is the "love of my life".
Asked by a journalist about his "girlfriend", Sean replied: "No, no, excuse me, Charlize is not my girlfriend. She's the love of my life...
"We have a very strong relationship. [We] have known each other for a very long time. But we weren't together."

Margot Robbie loves staying in hostels

Margot Robbie prefers staying in hostels to five-star hotels.
The 'Focus' star has revealed she enjoys staying in the more sociable surroundings of a hostel because it creates opportunities for her to meet interesting new people.
The 24-year-old actress - who's seen her profile skyrocket since starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Wolf of Wall Street' - told Australia's Kyle and Jackie O Kiis FM breakfast show: "They're (hostels) so much fun and you meet so many people.
"When you stay in a hotel everything's very planned and you only really encounter people you plan on encountering."
Margot's confession comes shortly after she suggested there was a link between her going on vacation and being offered film roles.
Speaking earlier this week, she explained that she was offered the part of Donna Freedman in the Australian soap opera 'Neighbours' two days into a trip to Canada, while her part in 'Focus' came about during another holiday.
She said: "It seems to be the way I get jobs - I book a holiday, I get to the other side of the world, then I'll get the job.
"It's kind of my method now."

Eddie Redmayne ‘grew up’ watching Thomas the Tank Engine

Eddie Redmayne "grew up" watching 'Thomas the Tank Engine' as a child.
The Oscar-winning actor, who recently received his Academy Award for his starring role in 'The Theory of Everything', has been cast as the voice of Ryan in a new film about the animated train engine, titled 'Sodor's Legend Of The Lost Treasure'.
Eddie revealed he's a long-time fan of the iconic character, explaining: "I grew up loving to watch Thomas and his pals getting caught up in unexpected and mischievous adventures.
"I jumped at the opportunity to get involved and what fun it was. I have never voiced an animated character before, and I had a complete blast."
Meanwhile, Professor Stephen Hawking recently said he was "very proud" of Eddie's Oscar win.

Orlando Bloom ‘plans career switch’

Orlando Bloom plans to "give music a go".
The 38-year-old Hollywood hunk attended last night's BRIT Awards at the O2 Arena in London, where he jokingly revealed he plans to make a career switch.
Orlando quipped: "The acting thing wasn't working out so well, so I thought I'd give music a go."
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star revealed himself to be a huge fan of British act Ed Sheeran, after the 'Thinking Out Loud' hitmaker contributed to the theme of one of his films.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I worked with him on The Hobbit so I have a soft spot for him."
Meanwhile, Ed recently revealed that he hopes Orlando would date his showbiz pal Taylor Swift.
Ed said: "He's [Orlando's] lovely, and they live in the same building [in New York City]. [I'm hoping] the magic might present itself eventually."
However, the union seems unlikely after Orlando decided to sell his fourth-floor, three-bedroom loft in Tribeca, New York City, just six months after he bought it.
The 'Lord of the Rings' star splashed out $4.88 million
on the property, which is next door to Taylor's home in the city.
