George Clooney: ‘I don’t like the young actors’

George Clooney isn't a fan of young actors.
The 54-year-old actor has joked that he "doesn't like the young ones", after starring in 'Tomorrowland' with Britt Robertson, 25, and Raffey Cassidy, 13.
George said: "I don't like the young ones. I don't care for them. No, Raffey's fantastic, and Britt's an amazing actress, so it was a lot of fun."
The 'Ocean's Eleven' star went on reveal that the main reason he wanted to star in 'Tomorrowland' was to work with its director Brad Bird, and described the sci-fi film - which sees a teen and a former boy-genius inventor embark on a mission to discover a place that exists in their collective memory - as an "upbeat end-of-the-world film".
Speaking to the MailOnline, George said: "I wanted to work with Brad Bird. He's a great guy, a wonderful talent. I loved the idea and the themes of the movie. I thought it was original, so I wanted to do it.
"It is upbeat. I do like an upbeat end-of-the-world film, you don't get those all that often."
George went on to reveal that he just finished shooting 'Hail, Caesar!' with the Coen Brothers, and described it as a "career-ender".
He said: "I just finished a movie with the Coen Brothers, so we could be in trouble. It could be a career-ender. No, I love those guys and Jodie Foster directed it, so we're having a fun time."

Rachel McAdams: Mystery makes me a better actress

Rachel McAdams thinks being mysterious makes her a better actress.
The 'True Detective' star - who previously dated Ryan Gosling - believes keeping her private life out of the spotlight helps her to play a myriad of different characters.
She said: "You want people to buy you as just about anything. So if they think that you're one thing, it's hard to slip into, you know, all these other things."
However, the Canadian-born beauty - who has since relocated to Los Angeles where she lives "within jogging distance" of her younger sister - was happy to share the pair's favourite past times and enjoys hiking with her sibling.
She told Marie Claire magazine: "I think this is my favourite LA stint ever.
"We try to do a different [hike] on each weekend. You get up here, and the sun is shining and the palm trees are swaying, and you think, you know, this really is not bad at all."
The 'Aloha' actress is well respected in Hollywood by her peers, including recent Oscar nominee Emma Stone.
The 'Birdman' star recently said: "I have been a huge fan of Rachel's for over 10 years. The natural talent she has is pretty clear and pretty amazing. Her choices are never one-note or unexplored. She makes you care. That's a real gift."

Kate Mara not used to rejection

Kate Mara will never get used to being rejected in Hollywood.
The 'Transcendence' star has admitted she has to work hard not to compare herself to other actresses and despite often being told she isn't suitable for parts, she tries to turn the experience into something positive.
The 32-year-old beauty said: "As an actor 90 percent of the time, you're getting told, 'No, sorry, you're not right.' I don't know that you ever really get used to that. I'm definitely better than I was; now if I don't get a part, I believe it's because that 'no' will open up my time for a role or experience I was meant to have."
The blonde beauty also opened up about her relationship with her sister, fellow actress Rooney Mara, and insists the siblings aren't competitive.
She said: "The other thing I've learned to deal with? People always want to know: 'Is there competition between you and your sister?' Luckily there isn't. but rivalry is an industrywide obsession - and it's toxic. I have to remind myself that just because a person got a job I wanted, it doesn't make me any 'less than.' When I'm at my strongest mentally, I don't ever compare myself to others."
The 'Invisible Woman' star added she thinks success "is a state of mind" and feels "blessed" to have had the opportunities she's had.
She told Glamour magazine: "I've always felt blessed to be doing what I love, and that's why I consider myself successful."

Rebel Wilson plays the roles other actresses ‘don’t want’

Rebel Wilson plays the roles other actresses "don't want".
The 29-year-old star insists the parts she goes for are always the "best" and she can't understand why other female actors aren't interested in them.
She said: "I pick up the roles other actresses don't want.
"When there are movies with two sisters and one's the uglier one, no actress wants to go for it. I'm like, 'Why not?' They're the best roles."
Rebel recently reprised her role as Fat Amy in 'Pitch Perfect 2' and she adores being with her castmates in the musical comedy.
She said: "We're like a big gang. We've stayed in touch since the first film and it was incredibly fun to get back together for some serious partying. Elizabeth Banks is our party leader."
The Australian star shot to global fame in 'Bridesmaids' and her role was specially written for her after she gave an impressive audition for a different part.
She told LOOK magazine: "It was my first job in America. For my audition, I went to meet [producer] Judd Apatow and Kristen Wiig and he said, 'Tell us about your love life. Go'. I kept talking for an hour while they filmed.
"I originally went for Melissa McCarthy's role but they said I was a bit too young for that, so they made up a new character because they liked my audition.
"And then the movie came out and it was like, 'Bang'. 'Bridesmaids' showed that women can be hilarious."

Scarlett Johansson: Avengers is shakespearean

Scarlett Johansson thinks 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' is "Shakespearean".
The 30-year-old actress - who reprises her role as Black Widow in the latest instalment of the Marvel franchise - believes the film is different from any other superhero tale because of its complex plot.
She said: "There's a Shakespearean aspect to the story that Joss Whedon has crafted - particularly with the villain Ultron.
"His artificial intelligence is created by Tony Stark to protect humanity, but because Ultron's born of Tony's ego, he's tragically flawed."
And Scarlett found the movie particularly exciting for her character.
She told NME: "Black Widow has experienced a lot of trauma and never been able to make active choices for herself, but now she's ready.
"I'm looking at it as an actor, looking for material that's substantial.
"So when you're shooting a page of the script over two weeks it gives you something real to hold on to."
The blonde beauty added she would love to star in a stand-alone Black Widow movie.
She admitted: "A Black Widow movie would be cool. I'm always happy to put the catsuit back on.
"From your lips to Marvel's big-pocketed ears..."

Tom Hardy apologises to Mad Max: Fury Road director

Tom Hardy has apologised to 'Mad Max: Fury Road' director George Miller for being grumpy on set.
The 37-year-old actor - who recently watched the post-apocalyptic action film for the first time - has publicly apologised to the director, saying he'd struggled to understand his ambitions for the movie during the filming process.
He said: "I owe George an apology for being so myopic - that was my first thought.
"The most frustrating thing for me or the hardest part of filming was trying to know what George wanted me to do at any given minute on a minute-by-minute basis, so I could fully execute his vision.
"I have to apologise to (George) because I got frustrated and there is no way that George could have explained what he conceived in the sand while we were out there filming."
The actor also admitted that although he knew he was working with a talented director, he didn't quite appreciate "just how brilliant" Miller is until he sat down and watched the finished piece.
The actor added: "Because of the due diligence that was required to make everything safe and to make everything that was incredibly complex so simple, which is what I saw, which is a relentless barrage of complexities simplified in a fairly linear story."

Simon Pegg: Star Trek 3 was nearly all about me

Simon Pegg was tempted to make 'Star Trek 3' all about himself.
The 45-year-old actor, who's currently writing the new sci-fi movie, has revealed he nearly over-inflated the importance of his character Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott when he was penning the film.
He confessed: "It's hard because the temptation is to big up your own part but it would look really obvious if the film was all me!"
What's more, the Brit revealed he turned to his wife Maureen to master his character's Scottish accent, while he also took advice from director JJ Abrams, who helmed 2009's 'Star Trek' and the 2013 movie 'Star Trek Into Darkness'.
He told 'The Graham Norton Show': "My wife was my dialect coach but my father-in-law wanted me to get a lot of Scottish phrases in so gave me a book called The Patter, basically a Scottish translation book with lots of weird words, and I was trying to filter them in.
"JJ took me aside one day and said, 'Simon, people have got to understand you!'"
Earlier this month, Simon said he isn't a "nerdy man-child" and insisted the public's perception of him doesn't quite chime with the reality.
He said: "I'm not quite the nerdy man-child that everyone thinks I am.
"I mean, I still love genre cinema, and I'm very excited to be in the 'Star Trek' films. But at home I'm not this toy-collecting, comic-book reading, video gaming ... I'm just not, y'know?
"And I'm kind of feeling like it's time to move on from that, like that phase of my life might be coming to an end. I'd quite like to do some more films that aren't necessarily, er ... set in space."

George Clooney quits new Tom Ford movie

George Clooney has scrapped plans to produce Tom Ford's new movie 'Nocturnal Animals'.
The 54-year-old Hollywood star had agreed to a role with the film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams, but reportedly decided to opt out of the project following a disagreement with the fashion designer and director, who is currently in Cannes, Frances meeting international distributors to secure funding for the dark thriller.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Ford is in Cannes because George Clooney was to produce the movie through his Smokehouse Pictures, with Grant Heslov.
"But they had a huge falling out over creative issues a few weeks ago, and Clooney is no longer involved."
However, Clooney has denied there's been any disagreement between himself and Ford, 53.
He said: "No falling out at all. It was just scheduling. Grant and I love the project and think Tom is fantastic. We just couldn't do it when he needed to go."
Meanwhile, a source in Cannes - where the annual film festival is currently being staged - said: "Tom has been taking a lot of meetings to present the movie, and it is garnering a lot of excitement. The roles for Gyllenhaal and Adams are very strong."
'Nocturnal Animals' is an adaptation of Austin Wright's 1993 novel 'Tony and Susan'.

Asa Butterfield ‘in talks to star in Spider-Man reboot’

Asa Butterfield has reportedly entered into talks to star in the 'Spider-Man' reboot.
The 18-year-old actor, who starred in 'Ender's Game' in 2013, is among a select group of actors being strongly considered for the coveted role.
There are five actors currently being eyed for the part of a high school-aged Peter Parker in Marvel's eagerly-awaited reboot of the sci-fi franchise, but Asa is the current front-runner, according to Deadline.
This comes shortly after Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel studios, confirmed the reboot will not be an origin story.
Feige said Marvel's new movie will work on the assumption that its audience already knows the "specifics" of Peter Parker's life.
He explained: "In Spider-Man's very specific case, where there have been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it's been - [13] years - for us, we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and the specifics.
"It will not be an origin story, but with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the Marvel Comic universe dealing with his powers."
