John Boyega hates the dark

John Boyega gets "freaked out" by darkness.
The ‘Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens’ actor insists undead creatures like zombies and otherworldly beings don’t frighten him at all, but it’s a different story when the lights go out.
He said: "Zombies, aliens, I’ve done it all guys so it’s just a walk in a park.
"Darkness does get me, stuff starts to morph when its dark and I am freaked out by that."
However, the 24-year-old star doesn’t mind confronting his fears.
He insisted: "The more fear the better."
John was one of a whole host of stars who faced their fears at the launch party for Thorpe Park’s Fright Nights, with models Jourdan Dunn and Neelam Gill, former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars Ola and James Jordan, singers Fleur East, Kimberley Wyatt and Sam Bailey, actress Jaime Winstone and former Olympian Linford Christie among those trying out the terrifying mazes and most popular rollercoasters at the theme park.
Fleur in particular was worried about the five spooky experiences, Platform 15, Cabin in the Woods, Blair Witch. Saw Alive: The Maze, and The Big Top.
She said: "I think people jumping out at me is really going to scare me. I am terrified, it sounds like it’s going to be all of my worst fears rolled into one."
And Kimberley – who was there with her husband Max Rogers – had been practicing her "brave face".
She said: "I am expecting lots of fun awesome characters to be everywhere hiding and trying to scare us and I have to practice putting on a really brave face."
However, it wasn’t just the mazes or the terrifying creatures roaming the park that scared the former Pussycat Dolls singer, as she was spotted backing away from Saw – The Ride and didn’t join her pals in enjoying the ride.
Supermodel Jourdan was amazed she’d even made it to the park as she is afraid of "everything".
She said: "I am basically scared of everything, I don’t really know why I’m here."
Fright Nights at Thorpe Park run from 7-9, 14-16 and 21-31 October. For more information and to book tickets, visit thorpepark.com.
