Zendaya joins Greatest Showman on earth

Zendaya has joined the cast of ‘The Greatest Showman on Earth’.
The 19-year-old singer-and-actress will star opposite Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams and Zac Efron in the upcoming movie musical, which tells the true-life story of celebrated circus owner and entertainment impresario P.T. Barnum, who was responsible for a number of hoaxes.
Jackman will play Barnum – who created the three-ring Barnum & Bailey circus – while Williams is on board to star as Jenny Lind, who he falls for, and Efron will be his right-hand man.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya will be a trapeze artist who wins Efron’s heart.
The contemporary musical has been in development since 2009 with Michael Gracey on board to direct and Michael Arndt currently working on a draft script.
Justin Paul and Benj Pasek, who worked on TV show ‘Smash’ and have contributed to ‘James And the Giant Peach’ and ‘A Christmas Story’, are writing the songs.
Chernin Entertainment, Laurence Mark and Hugh producing.
The movie is scheduled for release in December 2017.
Zendaya can next be seen on the big screen opposite Tom Holland in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’.
The film is shooting now and scheduled for release in July 2017.
