Cheryl Fernandez-Versini had a personal bodyguard to protect the £1 million worth of jewellery she was wearing on 'The X Factor' results show on Sunday night (09.11.14).
The judge had a 35 carat rare Burmese yellow sapphire and diamond ring worth £843,000 on her hand which she paired with a pair of 15 Carat Canary Yellow Diamond Drop Earrings worth £200,000.
Cheryl's jewellery was created by jeweller to the stars Vashi Dominguez - who runs one of the leading UK jewellery brands at vashi.com - from his Extraordinary Collection and loaned to her for the evening and matched her bright yellow body-con dress.
Due to the astonishing value of the pieces, the former Girls Aloud singer had to be accompanied everywhere backstage by a special bodyguard to ensure their safety.
A source told BANG Showbiz: "Wherever Cheryl went, the bodyguard went. Even if she had to nip to the toilet her security wasn't too far away - although he obviously didn't join her in the ladies room. Cheryl didn't mind though as she was so happy to have been loaned the jewellery by Vashi. He gave her the pick of his collection but once she saw the 35 carat ring she wanted to borrow it."
Cheryl - who is joined on the judging panel by Simon Cowell, Mel B and Louis Walsh - also celebrated landing her fifth number one UK single yesterday, with 'I Don't Care' topping the charts.
The 31-year-old pop star is the first British female solo artist to achieve feat.

Holly Willoughby made a surprise appearance on 'This Morning' today (10.11.14).
The 33-year-old TV presenter - who is currently on maternity leave from the ITV show following the birth of her third child in September - paid a visit to her co-host Phillip Schofield and her stand-in Amanda Holden during a cooking segment with TV chef Gino D'Acampo.
Quizzed on how she and new son Chester are getting on, she said: "I'm good. I was so nervous though, I was like, 'Oh my God, can I go on? Can I go on?
"Chester is really good. He's six weeks today - he's here, my mums got him, he's fine."
The blonde beauty - who also has three-year-old daughter Belle and son Harry, five, with husband Dan Baldwin - went on to joke that she'd timed her visit perfectly, as she got to taste the food being prepared by Gino, who has been standing in for her on ITV2 panel show 'Celebrity Juice'.
Holly laughed: "Oh, I hope you've got an extra plate!
"I smelt the food and I thought I've got to come ... I brought the baby in to show you and I've lucked out because you've done a family feast!"

'Hollyoaks' boss Bryan Kirkwood is "very, very proud" of his cast.
The showrunner has paid tribute to the stars of the Channel 4 soap ahead of this week's shocking scenes, which sees the wedding of Porsche McQueen and Lockie Campbell derailed in dramatic fashion when their party train crashes.
Bryan said: "I'm so proud of this cast. I'm well aware of how our show can occasionally be put down in really lazy, out-of-date ways, but I think our turns are fantastic.
"Our performances are shoulder-to-shoulder with every other show on TV. I'm very, very proud of every one of them."
Bryan was particularly happy the cast were willing to do their own stunts and they got to crash the train for real because he felt it looked more realistic than using CGI technology to complete the scenes.
He said: "It's quite easy to go for CGI and much more difficult to do it for real, but I think the results are clear on screen. We have a fantastic post-production house at Lime. I think we've got the best in-house graphics department - certainly in soap, but I think in TV. They certainly help with some episodes, but I think it's definitely better to do it for real."
However, the producer admitted his backstage team initially thought he was going "too far" with his vision for the spectacular stunt but he was thrilled they were able to bring it to life.
Speaking at a screening of the crash episodes - which have been dubbed 'End of the Line' because not all characters will survive - he said: "We've got an exceptional designer at Hollyoaks called Julian Perkins, who's worked with me for eight years. When I said, 'Julian, can we crash a train?', I thought he was going to punch me in the face!
"He did say, 'I think we're going too far, I don't think we're going to achieve what you want to achieve on this budget'. But he did - and he absolutely over-delivered again, so it's absolute credit to him for being such a genius."
'Hollyoaks' airs weeknights on Channel 4 at 6.30pm, with first-look episodes at 7pm.

Vicki Michelle is to appear on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'.
The ''Allo 'Allo' actress has already landed in Brisbane, Australia, ready for the ITV reality show - which starts this Sunday (16.11.14) - and is ready to become "Jane Jungle" in order to face the various nasty challenges.
The 63-year-old star said: "I'm absolutely going to be Jane Jungle. Tarzan, move over! I'll be swinging from those trees.
"Am I afraid of spiders and snakes? I'll let you know soon enough."
Vicki - who is best remembered for playing saucy Yvette Carte-Blanche in the popular 80s sitcom - will appear in the jungle alongside former World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty.
The 49-year-old racer admits he's taking a step into the unknown by agreeing to appear on the show hosted by Ant and Dec but is ready for anything.
He said: "I don't think you can prepare for this. It is well out of my comfort zone. But that's the appeal."
However, Carl claims the majority of his fears relate to the other celebrities taking part in the show, rather than the creepy crawlies he'll be surrounded by.
Carl explained: "I don't think I'm scared of anything, maybe other celebrities."
Other stars confirmed to be going into the jungle are 'Coronation Street' actor Craig Charles, 50, and Irish model Nadia Forde, 25, who is an ex-girlfriend of golf champion Rory McIlroy.

Mark Wright is feeling less scared about his wedding thanks to 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 27-year-old Essex lad is set to marry former 'Coronation Street' actress Michelle Keegan next year, and explained that before he appeared on the BBC ballroom show, he was terrified about having all eyes on him and his wife during their first dance.
He admitted: "I used to feel the pressure of thinking, 'What am I going to do when it comes to the first dance? How am I even going to move? I don't know how to dance to a beat.'
"Now I've been on 'Strictly...' I do feel a bit safer about it."
However, the Heart radio DJ said he is not planning on celebrating his nuptials with an impressive dance number, and is instead hoping to keep it fairly low-key when it comes to grooving at their wedding reception.
In an interview with HELLO! magazine, he explained: "Your wedding dance is just a sway, isn't it?
"It's not going to be a big choreographed showpiece."
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star - who sailed through to next week's show after performing a Waltz to 'Weekend in New England' on Saturday evening (08.11.14) - has been helping out his dance partner Karen Hauer, who is also set to tie the knot next year to her fellow dancer Kevin Clifton.
The 32-year-old hunk confessed: "I'm seriously freaking out a bit,
"If I have any questions, like where to honeymoon, Mark always has lots of ideas.
"I'll definitely be calling Mark and Michelle and going, 'Can you guys help out?' "

Michael Palin's return to TV acting has been marked by self-doubts.
The 'Monty Python' star is set to return to the small screen in new BBC drama 'Remember Me', in which he plays the role of an 80-year-old man who's driven by voices in his own head to enrol himself at a care home.
And Palin, 71, who's not played the lead role in a TV drama since 'GBH' in 1991, concedes he's nervous about the project, saying: "The risk is ... you suddenly find out, 'Oh, perhaps I wasn't as good after all.' Maybe half way through they'll think, 'Oh dear, maybe we've got the wrong bloke.'"
Palin is nearly ten years younger than his on-screen character, but says he can easily relate to him.
He explained to The Sunday Times newspaper: "I've had to come to terms with what it would be like just to slow up, but also to be a frightened old man. As I get older myself, I sometimes find it less easy to relate to the rest of the world - just every now and then.
"You think, 'Oh, well, everyone's younger than me, they're all doing different things, these are the people who are running the world.' So, you can, if you're not careful, feel invisible sometimes."

It only took ten minutes for staff to feel "depressed" when Adrian Chiles joined 'Daybreak'.
An ITV executive has described the 47-year-old television presenter - who was forced to leave 'Daybreak' in 2011 after only 13 months due to poor viewing figures - as too "grumpy" to present early morning TV.
The unnamed ITV executive said: "There was so much excitement because they had been so successful 'The One Show'. But it took about 10 minutes on day one for optimism to give way to depression.
"Despite the critics he appeared to dig deep and gave his all to make it a success. But humour is hard to find waking up at 4am to do live telly, especially given his persona was like your slightly grumpy mate in the pub."
The executive told the Guardian newspaper: "It was a bad career move."
Adrian revealed earlier this year that the "stressful" experience of 'Daybreak' still gives him sleepless nights.
He said: "I haven't slept properly since [Daybreak]. It was a stressful time as you can imagine."
Of the 'Good Morning Britain' team, he said: "I am not enjoying watching them suffer now. They have just got to stick to it and they will be fine; it will come round, it just needs to be given time and it is difficult in the current climate."
