Anne Kirkbride's family are advising 'Coronation Street' producers on how to write her character out of the soap.
The actress sadly passed away aged 60 in January after losing her battle with cancer and it's now been revealed her family members are working with the ITV drama's writers to decide how her long-running character Deirdre Barlow should be written out of storylines.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "They don't want to do anything that would upset Anne's family or disrespect the legacy of one of their most popular characters.
"They think it's best to make a joint decision about the best way to wave goodbye to Deirdre."
Anne - who starred in Corrie for over 40 years - had taken a three-month break from the show because of "personal issues" but was set to return last month before her shock death.
Deirdre left the Weatherfield cobbles last year to stay with friends while her son Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) was on trial for the murder of Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) and producers are now deciding on how best to mark her departure this summer.
The storyline will see the soap's longest running character Ken Barlow, played by William Roache, have to come to terms with losing his wife.
William, who was close friends with Anne both on and off set, previously spoke about saying goodbye to the beloved actress while she was in hospital.
He said at the time: "Saying goodbye was something I wanted to do, because I knew what was happening - that wasn't hard, that was beautiful - it was the whole thought of her not being around anymore that is the hard thing."

'EastEnders' actor Jake Wood hopes Max Branning didn't kill Lucy Beale as he doesn't want to lose his job.
The 42-year-old star's character is one of the main suspects in the case because he was having an affair with the blonde beauty when she was murdered last year but Jake has confessed he hopes he isn't unveiled as her killer in Friday's (20.02.15) live episode as he loves his job on the BBC One soap.
He shared: "I had a few theories at first, but now I'm just confused. I thought it was Abi Branning, then I thought it was Max, then I was convinced it was Ian Beale.
"That's the beauty. Everyone's got a motive. It would be interesting if it was Max. But if it is, potentially I'd be out of a job, so I'll have to have a conversation with the boss at a later date. I could be a fugitive. I could be filming scenes from Cuba or something."
The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant went on to admit that while he doesn't have "a clue" who murdered Lucy (Hetti Bywater), revealing he tells friends and family Dot Branning (June Brown) did it to get them off his back, he doesn't think Max could ever kill someone.
Jake told The Sun newspaper: "Personally I don't think Max would be capable of it, but you just don't know the circumstances of what could have driven him to it. It could be manslaughter. The people I speak to don't think Max is capable of murder. He's capable of a lot of things, lying, cheating, but not murder."
The father-of-two feels proud to be involved in one of the biggest soap stories in history, which is being played out in live and semi-live episodes this week to mark the 30th anniversary of 'EastEnders'.
In last night's (17.02.15) episode Max was seen accusing his daughter Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) of being the killer saying, "She [Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa)] knows you killed Lucy".

Rufus Hound likes to dance naked.
The 'Cucumber' actor - who is set to participate in Comic Relief's Danceathon on March 8 - has confessed he loves stripping off before performing routines so he is free to perform his favourite move.
He explained: "What I like to wear when I dance is absolutely nothing. I'm with the ancient Greeks on this one, true movement only comes when one is at ones least inhibited.
"And, how else would I do the windmill?"
The 35-year-old star - who is taking part in the six-hour danceathon alongside former 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge Arlene Phillips, actress Chelsee Healey, 'Countdown' beauty Rachel Riley and 'It Takes Two' presenter Zoe Ball - admitted he is yet to start preparing for the challenge.
He said: "I have done absolutely no practicing for this event at all, I will end it in a sweaty heap where my muscles are contracted to the point where I am essentially one human knot."
The non-stop dance extravaganza has been organised in aid of Red Nose Day 2015 and will see over 2,000 fundraisers dance non-stop for six hours at London's Wembley Arena, with the style and teacher changing every 30 minutes to switch between 50s jive, 60s swing, 70s disco, 80s anthems, street dance, latin, hip-hop, Bollywood and West End Musicals.
Rufus added the danceathon is an "incredibly fun" way of raising money for such a deserving cause.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I've decided to take part in the Comic Relief Danceathon because it seems to me an incredibly fun way of people being able to hustle a couple of bob for Comic Relief. Some are given to sitting in a bath of beans, some are given to running endless marathons in endless days and others fancy a boogie."

Charlotte Crosby is "really disappointed" in Vicky Pattison.
The 'Geordie Shore' star has confessed she's upset with her former co-star for suggesting she's copied her career by releasing her own health and fitness DVD following the success of Vicky's last year.
Asked what's been going on between them, Charlotte said: "I don't know, I just keep reading all these hurtful things she's supposed to have said about us in interviews.
"I don't want to get into an argument. I've never said a bad word about her. When I was asked about her leaving 'Geordie Shore', I said she'd be missed. When we went back into filming it felt like I'd lost a limb."
Speaking about the last time she saw Vicky, she added: "Everything was fine. I don't know why she seems to be so angry. I feel really disappointed. I've made excuses for Vicky, but she's been saying all this stuff and I've been quite naïve about it."
The 24-year-old beauty went on to admit that while she doesn't want to jump to conclusions about her pal she does feel hurt by her comments.
She explained to Star magazine: "When I landed in Australia Marnie [Simpson] sent me more interviews with bad things Vicky has said about me, like people would be blind not to notice that I was emulating her career.
"I texted her and she said her words have been twisted, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. But I know she said 'emulate' because she uses the world all the time. It's how I learnt it! But we'll always have that 'Geordie Shore' bond. I'll catch up with her when I get back from Oz."

Chloe Sims wants to be "treated like a lady".
The 33-year-old star claims she is "100 per cent" single after splitting from co-star Elliott Wright again earlier this year and she's now looking for a "gentleman" who can take her on "lovely dates".
She said: "I'm 100 per cent single.
"I haven't got a type, but I do like a man to be a gentleman and have good manners.
"I like doors to be held open and help with putting my coat on. Someone who takes the time to organise lovely dates.
"I like to be treated like a lady."
The 'Only Way Is Essex' favourite went on to admit she's planning to stay single for a while as she wants to focus on looking after herself and her daughter Madison.
She added to Star magazine: "I'm concentrating on myself and Madison. She is my number one priority."
Chloe and Elliott first began dating last year but have split numerous times since, although their relationship is now said to be over for good.
A source said previously: "Chloe has no regrets about having got back with Elliott - she took him away for his birthday last year and they had a lovely time. They also had a romantic Christmas together.
"But in the last few weeks, things have deteriorated and they've been fighting a lot.
"They have now decided that enough is enough and have called it quits. And this time round, Chloe is saying that over really does mean over."

'EastEnders' 'who killed Lucy Beale?' storyline took a dramatic turn tonight (17.02.15).
Fans of the BBC One soap were left in shock after Max Branning accused his youngest daughter, Abi Branning, of murdering the young blonde last year in the first semi-live episode to celebrate the show's 30th anniversary.
The shocking revelation came after Max informed Abi that her older sister Lauren had fled the Square after discovering who the murder is by piecing together the clues in detective Emma Summerhayes' case file.
In a fully live scene, Max then told a confused Abi: "She knows that you killed Lucy!"
Long-term fans of the show have been suspicious of Max and Abi for some time, as they have been covering up what they were really doing when Lucy was murdered on Good Friday, but many speculated that actor Jake Wood, who plays Max, had messed up his line and meant to say "she knows who killed Lucy."
However, a spokesman for the show insists the line was correct.
More explosive scenes are expected to occur later this week, as bosses have promised that the killer will be officially revealed in a flashback episode that is set to air on Thursday (19.02.15).
Following Max's revelation, bookmakers up and down the country have slashed the odds on Abi being named Lucy's killer.
William Hill have cut her odds from 8/1 to 3/1 favourite, while Ladbrokes make the blonde 4/1 second favourite - also down from 8/1 - behind Lucy's half-brother Bobby Beale (3/1).
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "It's hard to tell if Max fluffed his lines or not, but punters believe it could be Abi and have caused her odds to collapse in a matter of minutes."

Ricky Rayment admits splitting from Jess Wright was a "massive low".
The 24-year-old star considers ending his relationship with the brunette beauty, 29, his worst moment to date since he joined the 'The Only Way Is Essex'.
Speaking about the highs and lows of last season, he said: "For me I don't think there were many highs..I came second in the strong man competition though! Other than that, obviously breaking up with Jessica was a massive low for me."
However, Ricky - who is now dating 'Geordie Shore' star Marnie Simpson - still seems to hold a flame for Jess, naming his all time favourite moment of starring on the ITV Be show as the moment she agreed to be his girlfriend.
He explained: "Although we are not together anymore, my favourite moment was probably when Jess said yes to being my girlfriend. It sounds funny me saying that now but at the time is was a good moment."
And despite appearing to be loved up with Marnie, Ricky has confessed he is hoping some new "smoking hot" ladies will join the cast.
When asked what he'd like to see in new series, he said: "Smoking hot but down to earth girls please..that do squats and play FIFA."
He also credited Mario Falcone, who dated former cast member Lucy Mecklenburgh, as being his best friend on the series, but insists he is "a lot funnier" than his hunky co-star.
When asked to name his closest 'TOWIE' pal, Ricky said: "Mario because we've been together since series four. We've had ups and downs but we've come through it all. And we are very similar..although I'm a lot funnier!"
'The Only Way Is Essex' returns for its 14th series on February 22 at 10pm on ITV Be.

Robin Windsor has admitted dancing helps him through hard times following the news he's split from boyfriend Marcus Collins.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional and the former 'X Factor' contestant have confirmed they've decided to call time on their relationship and Robin has spoken about how his career as a dancer helps him to not focus on things like heartbreak.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the press launch of 'The People's Strictly' for Comic Relief, he said: "For me, as a dancer, it doesn't matter what's going on in my life whether it be good or bad or ugly or anything like that, the moment I've got on my dance shoes and that music comes on you forget everything. It's the best feeling."
The 35-year-old star - who previously revealed he wanted to marry Marcus - claimed one of the main reasons he loves being involved in the BBC One ballroom dance contest is to see the transformation people make.
He continued: "That's why thirty years later I'm still going, because it makes me feel great. Whenever anyone comes on Strictly you can just see how happy they are. All my partners really including Patsy [Kensit], Deborah [Meaden], Lisa [Riley] and Anita [Dobson] and now Anna, you just see them all get this new lease of life comes out of them and it's such an incredible thing to see."
Robin has been paired with Anna Kennedy - who set up schools and support for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders after raising Autistic sons Patrick and Angelo - for the first ever non-celebrity 'Strictly' and he's revealed they have an impressive routine prepared for next week.
He added: "We're both exhausted at the end [of rehearsals]. It will be the fastest Charleston ever seen on the show. It just gets faster and faster and faster."
