Sheridan Smith’s new show Cleaning Up set for three series

Sheridan Smith’s new series ‘Cleaning Up’ is set to run for three series.
The 37-year-old actress has been busy filming the upcoming ITV drama in which she plays Sam, a struggling mum-of-two who uses her job as a cleaner in the City to start insider trading to try and help her family.
Bosses are expecting the programme to be popular with viewers as they have reportedly told cast and crew to clear their schedules for two more series after the debut run.
A source told The Sun’s TV Bizarre column: "Bosses think the ideal scenario is for three series, so people are keeping their diaries open."
Whilst filming the new programme, Sheridan requested chicken nugget Happy Meals from McDonald’s on her rider.
The ‘Cilla’ star regularly asked for the fast food order so she could chomp on the chicken treats, which are covered in a delicious crispy coating, while she was on set.
An insider previously told the same publication: "Sheridan was militant about making sure she had the meal ready for her every day."
Sheridan will soon be soon starring alongside Alison Steadman and Sinead Keenan in new 90-minute BBC One drama ‘Care’, which has been written by Jimmy McGovern and Gillian Juckes.
In the show Sheridan plays Jenny, a mother-of-two raising her girls alone after the departure of her husband Dave.
She grows to rely on Mary (Steadman), Jenny’s widowed mother, whose help with childcare allows Jenny to hold down her full-time job at the supermarket but when Mary suffers a devastating stroke and develops dementia, Jenny’s world comes crashing down and everything changes for her and her sister Claire (Keenan) as they must decide how best to care for their ailing mother.
