Samantha Womack to star in Dial M for Murder theatre production

Samantha Womack is to star in a theatre production of ‘Dial M for Murder’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress will be joined in the production by Tom Chambers, who has appeared in ‘Casualty’ and ‘Emmerdale’, with Samantha playing the role of Margot Wendice, the wife of protagonist Tony (played by Tom).
Samantha takes over the role from Sally Bretton from April 14 in Milton Keynes and will then tour with the production to Birmingham, Cardiff, Leicester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Mold, Brighton, Shrewsbury and Salford, before her stint concludes in Northampton on June 27.
The 47-year-old actress is best known for her role as Ronnie Mitchell in ‘EastEnders’ between 2007 and 2017.
During her time on the show, Ronnie became one of the most beloved characters in the soap’s history. She featured in numerous memorable storylines such as her search for her daughter – who turned out to be Walford resident Danielle Jones (Lauren Crace), the death of her newborn son and her long-running relationship with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
The character met her demise in shocking scenes on New Year’s Day 2017 after drowning alongside her sister, Roxy, (played by Rita Simons) on her wedding day.
Samantha previously revealed that she and Rita have had "a lot" of discussions about reuniting for other projects.
She said: "We have talked about a few things, a couple of things have been offered but they’re a bit obvious."
Rita added: "There’s been quite a lot of talk for stuff for us to do together, and we just wanna make sure that it’s the right thing. It’s so special, the chemistry we have."
