Saara Aalto still has headache after Dancing on Ice smash

Saara Aalto still has a headache after smashing her head just seconds before her ‘Dancing on Ice’ performance last week – but is "hoping it’ll be fine" on Sunday (10.02.19).
The 31-year-old singer’s pro skating partner Hamish Gaman has been taking it "really carefully" with her routine in training this week after she bashed her bonce on the ice just seconds before her live performance last Sunday (03.02.19), and she is still feeling the effects.
She said: "We’re getting there. It’s hard, we’ve been training a lot but I still have a little headache.
"Hamish has been really careful this week. He’s like, ‘We cannot strain your body too much.’
"So hopefully it’ll be fine on Sunday."
Saara admits she had "no idea" whether she was fit enough to perform last Sunday following the incident, but she was determined to go out onto the rink after "training so hard" last week.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: "It was a minute before I had to go and perform. We were just rehearsing one of the lifts and I fell, hit my head on the ice, medics came and they were like, ‘Can you go and perform?’
"I was like, ‘Um…’ I didn’t know but I had to say yes, because we had trained so hard.
"We had no idea if I could actually do it.
"I just had to survive."
Following her fall, Saara picked up her best score, 33.5, from the judges after she performed.
Fellow ‘Dancing on Ice’ celebrity contestant Jane Danson was also in the wars shortly before Sunday’s show.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress fainted in rehearsals but managed to recover in time to perform, and also went on to score her best points tally to date, 23.5, from the judges.
