Pixie Lott doesn’t want to rush her wedding.
The ‘All About Tonight’ star admits it came as a complete surprise when her fiancé Oliver Cheshire got down on one knee last month after six years together but she is looking forward to planning things for the big day.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz on the red carpet at the BBC Music Awards at ExCeL London, she said: "I really haven’t got round to planning yet. I have no idea [about the details] yet because it really did surprise me.
"But if I don’t fit it in next year, because next year is really busy with new music and loads of other stuff … I just don’t want to rush it. I want it to be absolutely perfect. If I don’t get time to do it, next year definitely. Hopefully next year but you never know."
The couple got engaged when Oliver got down on one knee outside of St Paul’s Cathedral in London in November.
Sharing a picture of her diamond ring, Pixie wrote at the time: "so happy biggest surprise ever … I cried my [eyes] out (sic)"
And Oliver took to his own Instagram account to share the happy news.
He added: "What a beautiful day and the most beautiful woman in the world said yes to me. Lucky man (sic)"
Meanwhile, an onlooker revealed how Pixie was "sobbing with tears of happiness" when he proposed.
They said: "It was so romantic – Pixie didn’t seem to have any idea he was going to ask her to marry him and started sobbing with tears of happiness.
"When she couldn’t stop crying Ollie asked a passer-by for a tissue as he said he didn’t want to give her his snotty hankie. They then hid behind a pillar for some privacy, but they didn’t seem to have a care in the world about who saw their special moment – it was like something from a movie."
