Piers Morgan takes 3 weeks off from Good Morning Britain

Piers Morgan has begun a three-week break from ‘Good Morning Britain’.
The 53-year-old TV presenter said goodbye to viewers of the programme today (06.02.19) ahead of a trip to America, where he plans to relax and "interview a psychopath" before fronting the morning show’s coverage of the Academy Awards alongside his regular co-host Susanna Reid.
Speaking on ‘GMB’ today, he said: "I’m doing a little bit of palm tree action. I’m going to LA to my Beverly Hills house and lying with palm trees for about four or five days, just to acclimatise to American time.
"Then, I’m going to Houston in Texas to interview a psychopath. And then I’m going to New York to interview another psychopath.
"And then I’m going back to LA to rendezvous with you [Susanna] to do the Oscars where there are about a thousand psychopaths.
"And then, I will slowly worm my way back to this country at the start of March."
Susanna shared a selfie of her and Piers on her Twitter account, and she captioned the image: "Sadly, our last morning together for three weeks… @gmb (sic)"
Commenting on his expression, Piers wrote: "I look completely demented. It’s time for a break."
The presenters will host a ‘GMB’ Oscars special on February 25, and will be joined by a host of special guests including actress Jane Seymour, blogger Perez Hilton and Spice Girls singer Mel B.
Piers previously said: "We have exciting news, we are going to cover the Oscars. We are going to be live in Hollywood covering all things fashion and stars. This is going to be fun! We’re looking forward to this. It’s going to be a big night … after that we are going to hit Hollywood hard."
Susanna added: "We are going to the centre of stardom to the land of sequins and stardust … we’re going to Hollywood!"
