Paul Chuckle to star in new series of The Real Marigold Hotel

Paul Chuckle is to star in the upcoming series of ‘The Real Marigold Hotel’.
The 71-year-old comedian flew out to India earlier this week with Dragons’ Den’s Duncan Bannatyne and former cricket commentator Henry Blofeld to film a new series of the upcoming BBC show, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
‘The Real Marigold Hotel’ follows a group of celebrities who travel to India to see whether they can find a more rewarding and fulfilling retirement than they have in the UK.
However, Duncan hinted in 2018 that he isn’t ready to retire just yet.
The 70-year-old television star said last year he had no plans to do so as he didn’t want to end up "having a lot of money and not knowing what to do with it".
A recent spin-off series sent famous faces to Mexico with the same intentions.
But now the next series – which is based on the film ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, which is set in India and featured Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy – is heading back to the country.
Paul – who suffered a devastating blow last year when his brother and comedy sidekick Barry Chuckle passed away aged 73 – has made a plea to appear on real-life shows in the past.
The actor previously said he is keen to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, and while he "can’t understand" why he is yet to be on the programme, he is hoping supporters will "tell ITV" that he would be a great addition to the series.
In response to a tweet from a fan who said he "has to" be on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ next year, he replied: "Tell @imacelebrity @ITV that (sic)"
