Paris Hilton pulls out of Lorraine appearance

Paris Hilton has pulled out of an interview on ‘Lorraine’ after falling ill.

The 39-year-old socialite was due to appear on the ITV chat show on Thursday (10.09.20) to discuss her new YouTube documentary focused on her trauma and childhood.

However, Paris sadly had to cancel the interview at the last minute after suddenly feeling sick.

Host Lorraine Kelly gave fans an update on the show, saying: "We were supposed to be talking to Paris Hilton today. Sadly we got a call very, very late last night saying that’s she’s not well.

"We obviously wish her well and hope she gets better soon."

Paris’ documentary explores the alleged "continuous torture" she experienced whilst attending Provo Canyon School – which focuses on behavioural and mental development – as a teenager.

She said: "I knew it was going to be worse than anywhere else. It was supposed to be a school, but [classes] were not the focus at all. From the moment I woke up until I went to bed, it was all day screaming in my face, yelling at me, continuous torture."

Paris also alleged the staff "bullied" her and said "terrible things" about her to her face, and even claimed there were times they would be "physically abusive".

Following the abuse, ‘The Simple Life’ star developed anxiety and created a persona.

After watching the documentary, Lorraine said: "When I watched the documentary I thought, ‘Not a happy life’. She’s invented this character and even speaks in a funny voice. I thought that was her voice but it’s not at all! She’s a bright girl but she puts on an act."

And though Paris does not blame her parents, Lorraine believes she was "desperate" to be loved.

She added: "It’s terribly sad because she’s a bit of a wild child as well. Her mum and dad sent her off to a very strict boarding school and she was physically abused there and it’s stayed with her forever.

"I think she’s someone desperately looking for love and desperately looking for validation, I suppose. It’s just very sad. I hope she comes back, I would love to speak to her."
