Jake Bugg: Working with Rick Rubin was easy

Jake Bugg found it "easy" working with Rick Rubin.
The 'Lightning Bolt' singer, who worked with the famous producer on his second album 'Shangri La' at his Malibu recording studio and claims it was a simple process.
He told Faster Louder: "Despite if I knew him or not, I had enough people telling me the reputation he had, so I just didn't think it was an opportunity to turn your nose up at.
"You might learn something, you might get something out of it, you might not, but you'll definitely learn something.
"The experience as a whole was great, he brought in great musicians. I just had a load of ideas, and I'd sit down and teach the band. He'd drag those ideas out of me and make sure I turn them into songs."
Jake added: "It was just pretty relaxed, we'd record a song four or five times and then onto the next. Pretty easy."
The 19-year-old singer admits the idea of working with Rick, who has recorded with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Kanye and Eminem, could be intimidating for some artists but he felt "free" to work on his own material.
He added: "What Rick does is different to what I do. It's his job to produce and it's my job to play the songs. It worked pretty well, it was just a chilled atmosphere to be honest."

George Michael embarrassed by blonde locks

George Michael is embarrassed by the fact he had blonde hair in the 1980s.
The 'Faith' hitmaker - who shot to fame alongside Andrew Ridgeley as a member of Wham! - also finds it 'cringe' when he looks back at old videos on YouTube, in which he wore hoop earrings.
George explained: "Where do I start? I know - the blonde hair from my Wham! days. That came about because I didn't really want to be me, so the short, dark, curly hair had to go. And I could have done without those curtain rings in my ears as well."
The 50-year-old star also regrets placing shuttlecocks down his shorts during performances on their first tour to make his 'package' appear bigger.
He said: "I mean, how stupid was that? Actually, that one I'll blame on Andrew - he really loved winding people up all the time.
"I do remember another embarrassing moment from the old days ... when Andrew and I went to a music awards ceremony early in our career. I was wearing a suit that made me look a bit like Colonel Sanders and I was practically orange from overdoing it on a sunbed."
But George laughed off the disastrous look as he was still "experimenting" with fashion and his talent was more important.
He added in an interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine: "One thing I didn't have any doubt about, though, was my songwriting. I had a pretty unstoppable belief in my talent and once I had a foot in the door of the music industry, nothing was going to shift me."

Lily Aldridge keeping wedding dresses for daughter

Lily Aldridge is saving her wedding dresses for her daughter.
The Victoria's Secret model donned two gowns by Vera Wang when she married Kings of Leon rocker Caleb Followill - with who she has 21-month-old Dixie - in 2011 and admits it felt "pretty special" to have the coveted designer create both gowns personally for her.
She said: "Vera is iconic so to have her personally make my dress was pretty special.
"They made a beautiful silk '40s-style after-party dress that no one saw.
"Maybe one day my daughter Dixie will want them."
Despite her slender frame, the 28-year-old beauty insists she is happy to "indulge" and loves cooking, but takes a "balanced" approach to diet and exercise.
She said in an interview with Grazia magazine: "I do a ballet routine four times a week, that's really all.
"I eat a lot of organic foods, I cook, I indulge. You have to balance and have what's good for you. I believe in cooking for yourself."

Emmy Rossum fancies nerds

Emmy Rossum only fancies nerds.
The 'Shameless' actress - who plays Fiona Gallagher in the hit US remake of the British TV show - says her type is a brainy guy who can teach her about the world, and admits she would never go after a typically handsome man.
She told People magazine: "I'm kinda more attracted to the nerd. I'm really into guys who are super smart and funny and can teach me something I don't know about."
Emmy has previously dated her 'Shameless' co-star Tyler Jacob Moore and was married to music executive Justin Siegel until 2009, and insists it's important to not be "shallow" about men's looks.
The 27-year-old star believes personality always trumps looks and advises women to fall for what's inside before worrying about the outside.
She added: "Girls, and guys too, are so shallow that we don't give a chance to the good guy who's maybe not as cute. They're kinda like a fixer-upper apartment.
"You need to pick the guy who's really good inside and then give him a makeover. Turn him into the perfect version of himself. You can never change what's inside, that's the problem. You can change their jacket and their hairstyle, and buy them a Clarisonic."

Vomit artist praises ‘powerful’ performer Lady Gaga

The woman who vomited on Lady Gaga says working with the singer is a "powerful" experience.
Performance artist Millie Brown - who rose to prominence after spewing green-coloured goo over Gaga during her gig at the South by Southwest festival in Texas last week - has no regrets about her controversial antics and stands by the superstar's experimental set.
She told ELLE magazine: "I wasn't expecting so many reactions from it. It was quite a powerful performance. I love working with her because she really understands performance art. Both of our performances are different in many ways, but we both have the same core ideas. Working together is just quite powerful."
The unusual performance was slammed by former bulimia sufferer Demi Lovato on Twitter, who maintained that Millie sticking her fingers down her throat and regurgitating on Gaga during her rendition of 'Swine' was glamorising eating disorders.
The British artist - whose vomit paintings sell for around $20,000 - believes that criticism is a vital part of her work, but insists she isn't promoting bulimia.
Millie added: "I've seen a lot of positive and negative reactions to my work. I think they're both equally as important because it's causing people to really think about what art and freedom of expression means ...
"My performance is not a statement about eating disorders in any way. I think the whole bulimia thing - it's important for people to know that I'm not trying to promote it."
Gaga has also brushed off the negative responses to the performance during her hour-long keynote speech at the event.
She quipped: "Sometimes things that are really strange and feel really wrong can change the world.

L’Wren Scott under ‘tremendous’ pressure before death?

L'Wren Scott was under "tremendous" pressure because of her career.
The designer was tragically found hanged in an apparent suicide at her New York apartment yesterday (17.03.14) and her longtime friend, fashion editor Andre Leon Talley, worries the talented star might have been stressed about adhering to the rigorous Fashion Week schedule.
The grieving star said in an interview with ET: "I think the pressure must have been tremendous for L'Wren to continue to compete as she was on the top...to be on this calendar twice a year in New York or London or Paris is extreme pressure for anyone.
"Yet, she rose to the occasion. She was a small designer with a huge international following. She was almost like a great cult. She was like a rock star herself."
The Vogue contributing editor and Zappos artistic director insists L'Wren's 13-year relationship with Sir Mick Jagger was the centre of her world and says the Rolling Stones frontman was nothing but supportive of her career.
Andre explained: "You would go to L'Wren Scott's shows and Mick always was there taking pictures, and Mick was very, very verbally supportive of her...L'Wren spoke to me about how much she loved the family side of her life with Mick and his children.
"She loved going away with them, and I think she loved the balance that it gave her in this very tough and ruthless, heavily pressurized world of fashion."
The fashion guru claims he never suspected the model-turned-designer had been struggling with depression.
He added: "I never thought for one second or ever heard that L'Wren was suffering from depression or tried to harm herself or take her life, ever."
It has been alleged that L'Wren was almost $6 million in debt when she died and had reportedly been "acting strangely" and not answering phone calls in recent weeks.

George Clooney takes new girlfriend on safari

George Clooney has taken his new girlfriend on safari.
The 'Monuments Men' hunk treated his latest squeeze, British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, to an all-expenses paid trip to Tanzania to observe the local wildlife.
The new photos obtained by People magazine show the lovebirds kitted out in full safari outfits - complete with wide-brimmed hats, khaki jackets and loose cotton shirts - as they take in the sights, cameras at the ready.
One image shows Amal snuggling up to George as he protectively places an arm around her shoulders, while another depicts the happy couple smiling as they pose with a group of locals.
The pair - who were first linked after a dinner date in October - have been getting serious in recent months and were most recently seen at a special screening of George's new movie at the White House in February.
An onlooker told People at the time: "His arm was around her shoulder and she had hers around his. They just seemed very, very together."
George's romance with Amal came shortly after he split from Stacy Keibler last July, who reportedly ended their relationship because the Hollywood hunk didn't want to settle down.
The actress-and-model swiftly moved on, marrying Jared Pobre in a romantic beach ceremony Mexico earlier this month, and is already said to be expecting a baby.

Tamara Ecclestone gives birth to baby Sophia

Tamara Ecclestone has given birth to a baby girl called Sophia.
The Formula 1 heiress and her husband Jay Rutland welcomed their first child on Monday (17.03.14) and are completely overwhelmed by the love they feel for their new arrival.
The socialite shared the news by posting an adorable snap on Instagram of her looking lovingly at her newborn daughter from her hospital bed.
She captioned the image: "Welcome to the world Sophia, our beautiful baby girl, born yesterday 6lb 9oz. Proudest day of our lives, never felt love like this. X"
Tamara later added a picture of proud dad Jay posing alongside her and Sophia, adding, "Three musketeers forever. Love my little family x"
The couple got engaged in Dubai last year after a whirlwind four-week romance, and celebrated their union with a beachside bash in St Tropez last summer.
The 29-year-old brunette was treated to a lavish pink-themed baby shower by her younger sister Petra Ecclestone earlier this month held at The Orangery at Kensington Palace, London.
Tamara previously admitted she was keen to become a mother as soon as possible so her baby could be as close in age to Petra's daughter Lavinia, who is currently 11-months old.
She said: "I want them to be as close as me and my sister. And I would just love to have a little girl who would be super close to Lavinia."

Miley Cyrus’ tour bus catches fire

Miley Cyrus' tour bus burst into flames.
The 'Wrecking Ball' singer and her entourage were travelling to New Orleans on Monday night (17.03.14) for the next instalment of her 'Bangerz' world tour when one of the vehicles in the convoy spontaneously combusted.
The 21-year-old star's younger sister Noah Cyrus and her mother were on board at the time, with the 14-year-old teen sharing the news via a series of videos posted on Instagram, captioned "Tour bus down!"
She later confirmed on Twitter that no one had been hurt, writing, "Yes, everyone got out safe no one is injured what so ever!! everything is okay!! (sic)"
TMZ has confirmed the blaze was caused by an exploding tyre and not by church protestors who disagree with Miley's radical image setting the bus on fire, as fans were quick to speculate.
It appears the only casualty was a toy bunny rabbit belonging Miley's mum, with Noah jokingly sharing a digitally-altered image of a stuffed animal with flames emerging from its head.
She added: "Bunny down! Moms toy bunny burnt down in the fire! #crackerbarrelbunnydown (sic)"
Miley has attracted controversy for her X-rated live shows, which see the former 'Hannah Montana' actress simulating a sex act on a man wearing a Bill Clinton mask and writhing around provocatively on the bonnet of a car.

Shailene Woodley eats clay

Shailene Woodley detoxes by eating clay.
The 'Divergent' actress maintains a strictly organic beauty regime and picked up one of her most unusual habits from a taxi driver, who advised her to ingest a supplement of bentonite clay to clean the heavy metals out of her system.
She explained in an interview with IntoTheGloss.com: "He was African and was saying that, where he's from, the women eat clay when they're pregnant ... So, I've discovered that clay is great for you because your body doesn't absorb it, and it apparently provides a negative charge, so it bonds to negative isotopes.
"And, this is crazy: it also helps clean heavy metals out of your body. My friend starting eating it and the next day she called me and said, 'Dude, my s**t smells like metal.' She was really worried, but we did some research together and everything said that when you first start eating clay, your bowel movements, pee, and even you, yourself, will smell like metal."
The eco-friendly actress has found natural remedies for every Hollywood beauty trick, namely rinsing her mouth out with sesame oil instead of getting her teeth whitened.
Shailene added: "I love a natural way to heal. You can do something called 'oil pulling' where you swish coconut or sesame oil in your mouth when you wake up and spit it out.
"It's amazing! It really makes your teeth whiter, because the plaque on your teeth is not water soluble, it's fat-soluble."
The 22-year old star also made the surprising confession that she only washes her short hair once a month.
She joked: "I only shampoo it like once a month - the oilier, the better."

Chris Brown’s shower time limited in jail

Chris Brown won't be allowed to shower every day in jail.
The R&B singer was sentenced to stay behind bars in a Los Angeles correctional facility for another month on Monday (17.03.14) after getting thrown out of a rehab facility in Malibu, and it has now emerged he will reportedly only be able to wash once every two days.
Chris - whose legal troubles stem from violating his probation in the infamous Rihanna assault case - will be placed in solitary confinement 23 hours a day, according to TMZ, so won't have to worry about his personal hygiene bothering a cellmate.
However, the site reports that the suave singer will still be able to read library books and workout from the confines of his cell, where he is expected to remain until his probation violation hearing on April 23.
Chris, 24, was transferred to the correctional facility after a court hearing yesterday during which judge James Brandlin revealed Chris had been kicked out of rehab after "rubbing elbows" with a female, refusing to take a drug test and making a threat during group therapy, reportedly saying, "I am good at using guns and knives."
Being chucked out of the court-ordered anger management programme - which was extended from an initial three month period - was considered to be a violation of his probation.
The 'Don't Wake Me Up' singer also faces a separate charge of misdemeanour assault in Washington D.C., which will be heard on April 17.

Sofia Coppola to direct The Little Mermaid

Sofia Coppola will direct a live-action version of 'The Little Mermaid'.
The filmmaker has reportedly set her sights on Hans Christian Andersen's tragic fairy tale as her next project after 2013's 'The Bling Ring', and is in negotiations to bring the classic children's story to life on the big screen, Deadline.com is reporting.
Fans shouldn't expect a repeat of Disney's bubblegum 1989 cartoon version about aquatic princess Ariel and talking crab Sebastian, however.
Coppola is thought to be planning a version in keeping with the original 1837 story, which sees the broken-hearted Little Mermaid commit suicide after the Prince marries another woman.
The new Universal Pictures/Working Title production is said to be based on a script by Caroline Thompson ('Edward Scissorhands'), which was originally drafted by Kelly Marcel ('Saving Mr. Banks') and Abi Morgan ('Shame').
Coppola is taking over from 'Atonement' helmer Joe Wright, who was originally on board to direct, and intends to "move quickly" with the project.
The director has young daughters Romy and Cosima with her husband, Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars, and is said to want to make a movie which her children can appreciate.
