Jack White admits he "almost never" speaks to his former bandmate Meg White.
The ex-White Stripes singer, whose band called it a day in 2011, has since forged his own successful solo career and claims hardly anybody he knows speaks to drummer Meg since the band split.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: "I don't think anyone talks to Meg. She's always been a hermit. When we lived in Detroit, I'd have to drive over to her house if I wanted to talk to her, so now it's almost never."
Talking about how Meg's personality came to affect the pair's relationship, Jack explained: "She's one of those people who won't high five me when I get the touchdown. "She viewed me that way of, 'Oh, big deal, you did it, so what?' Almost every single moment of the White Stripes was like that. We'd be working in the studio and something amazing would happen, I'm like, 'Damn, we just broke into a new world right there!' And Meg's sitting in silence.
"I remember hearing Ringo Starr say, 'I always felt sorry for Elvis, because in The Beatles we had each other to talk about what it felt like. Elvis was by himself.'
"I was like, 'Shit, try being in a two-piece where the other person doesn't talk!'"
But despite their differences, he praised Meg's talent and stage presence and how the pair worked together to become a successful duo selling millions of records, having formed the band in 1997.
He said: "I would often look at her onstage and say, 'I can't believe she's up there.' I don't think she understood how important she was to the band, and to me and to music. She was the antithesis of a modern drummer. So childlike and incredible and inspiring. All the not-talking didn't matter, because onstage, nothing I do will top that."
Jack's new album, 'Lazaretto', will be released on June 9.
Kimberley Walsh says her new song 'The Road' was a breath of fresh air.
The Girls Aloud star has teamed up with Alistair Griffin on a new duet which she believes was better suited to her theatrical style of singing than her former girl band pop anthems.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It's a different sound to anything I've done before, which was nice. It's a great song to sing, it's a little bit more theatrical than Girls Aloud songs. It was more suited to me, it was a change."
However, Kimberley - who is expecting her first child with her long-term partner Justin Scott - had a tough time shooting the music video in the freezing Yorkshire countryside since she was nursing a broken wrist.
She laughed: "It could have been easier circumstances, it looks nice but it actually was cold, we were in the middle of nowhere. The wrist was not healed, but I managed to get them to take the cast off for the video.
"So I had to be really careful, walking around like I had a broken wing and supporting it whenever I could!"
The 'Biology' hitmaker sustained her injury when she took a tumble and tried to protect the baby at all costs.
Kimberley explained: "I fell on a mat that didn't have any rubber and because I'm pregnant I just panicked and tried to protect the baby, so I took my whole weight on my wrist. It's one of those things, it's almost back to normal now."
The track is the official anthem for Yorkshire's Grand Depart - The Tour De France and Kimberley is looking forward to getting into the sporting spirit this summer.
She added: "I'm not a keen cyclist myself but I will be following the Grand Depart especially since it's going through my hometown of Yorkshire. And the fact that its here is a big thing. I think I'll get into the spirit of it all!"
'The Road' will be released on June 30 through Elbow Grease Records. The video for the single can be seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=DagQili02Qk. Alistair releases his new album 'From Nowhere' on July 7.
David Walliams' children's book 'The Boy in the Dress' will be adapted for the TV.
The 42-year-old comedian's first story will be dramatised by BBC One in time for Christmas 2014, following in the footsteps of his previous festive offerings 'Mr Stink' and 'Gangsta Granny'.
Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley will join David in adapting the hour-long special, which tells the story of a 12-year-old cross-dressing boy and the thoughts and feelings of his friends and family.
David said: "I am over the moon that my first novel for children is going to be on BBC One at Christmas. I was very pleased with the adaptations of 'Mr Stink' and 'Gangsta Granny', and I trust 'Boy in the Dress' will delight and surprise a family audience."
BBC Controller, Shane Allen - who commissioned the show - said: "'Boy in the Dress' is a very touching, hilarious and poignant story of why being different is something to celebrate. As with David's other novel adaptations I have no doubt this will attract an exceptional cast and be a special Christmas treat for all the family."
David's previous offerings pulled in high ratings for the channel with 'Mr Stink' attracting over seven million viewers in 2012 and 'Gangsta Granny' reaching 7.3 million viewers last year.
Emma Willis and Rylan Clark have become such good friends they're able to be naked around each other.
The 'Big Brother' presenters hit it off when Rylan won the January 2013 series of 'Celebrity Big Brother' and they've now formed a close bond after working together on ' Big Brother's Bit on the Side'.
Rylan explained: "She's my Wonder Woman, definitely. I walk into Emma's dressing room in my pants after I have a spray tan or whatever. Then Emma tries to do the ladylike thing and walks into the bathroom to get changed.
"But while I'm sitting there gossiping with her make-up artist or her hair stylist, the door will fly open and out comes Emma, pants halfway down and she goes, 'Ooh, I know!' and joins in the gossip. There's no censor with me and Emma any more."
The flamboyant star also revealed mum-of-two Emma - who has children Isabelle, four, and Ace, two, with husband Matt Willis - has a "filthy" vocabulary which she only ever uses on the 'Big Brother' companion show.
He told The Sun newspaper: "She's filthy! God, she's so rude. Emma's like a split personality. She's all 'good' on the main show one minute, then she comes on 'BOTS' and is like, 'F***ing hell!', and that's why it's such a great show."
Emma - who fronts both the main show and the spin-off - added: "Because I've got kids, I've got my mouth where I know not to swear and that's the same on TV. But then I've got my late-night mouth where I can let loose."
Gogglebox's Steph and Dom Parker are "too posh" to talk to their co-stars.
Scarlett Moffatt, who appears on the BAFTA-winning show with her parents Betty and Mark, claims the champagne-swilling couple have made no effort to get to know the other stars of the hit Channel 4 documentary series.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "Steph and Dom, the posh ones, are the only ones who don't speak to any of us. I think they don't want to because we're working class.
"I've sent them loads of Twitter messages and they've never replied. They are too posh for our banter."
The unemployed 23-year-old from County Durham, north east England, also revealed she struggles to understand Dom, who lives in Sandwich, Kent, in a sprawling mansion.
Scarlett jibed: "I can't really understand Steph and Dom anyway. We have to put the subtitles on when Dom speaks. To be fair they probably don't understand our Geordie accents."
Steph and Dom aren't the only 'Gogglebox' stars to receive an earful from the outspoken reality star, as she also took aim at vicar Kate Bottley, who joined the show in its third series with husband Graham.
Scarlett added: "I think the reverend needs to stop wearing her dog collar. We all know she's a vicar. You don't see the hairdressers hanging out at home with a pair of scissors."
Director Doug Liman tries to accomplish the impossible.
The 48-year-old filmmaker managed to get permission to have a military helicopter land in London's iconic Trafalgar Square for his latest film 'Edge of Tomorrow' and insists he only managed to pull that off because he was persistent and refused to take 'no' for an answer.
He told The Times 2 supplement: "It's easy to propose something outrageous in a pre-production meeting like, 'What about landing a military helicopter in Trafalgar Square?
"And the location manager will say, 'That's absolutely impossible. Two weeks before the scene they showed me the helicopter we were allowed to use and I immediately said 'That's not big enough'. And they said, 'It's all we could get, the RAF turned us down'.
"I said, 'Go back and try again'. And they did and eventually the RAF said yes."
Although film-making doesn't run smoothly Liman insists challenges and "chaos" help him better his work.
He added: "A little bit of chaos around me tends to bring out the best in my work."
Quentin Tarantino wants to shoot a film in London.
The 51-year-old filmmaker "loves" England's capital and would be keen to work on a project in the city.
He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I love London and I want to film there. I could do a comedy there. I'm really obsessed with 1970s London."
Meanwhile, the famed director is in Cannes where he is set to attend an event to celebrate 'Pulp Fiction'.
He will walk the red carpet alongside Uma Thurman at the Palais this evening (23.05.14) before the crime film's special beach screening.
Tarantino will introduce the film, which first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 1994 and won the the festival's top prize, Palme d'Or.
He will also host the Closing Night screening of Sergio Leone's 1964 'Spaghetti Western A Fistful of Dollars'.
Tarantino most recently worked on 'Django Unchained' with a A-List cast including Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio and the film grossed over $425 million worldwide, making it his highest-grossing theatrical release to date.
Angelina Jolie kept banging into things on the 'Maleficent' set.
The actress' elaborate costume as the wicked fairy in the 'Sleeping Beauty' spin-off took weeks to put together, with her pointy horns proving especially tricky since they kept falling off and were so heavy she initially crashed around the set headfirst.
The United Nations ambassador told Collider.com: "The creation of it took a little time, to figure out how to do the horns and how to get them on my head and how to get them to stay. We used my hair in braids to nail it down. It was a head piece, with the horns. It wasn't like a headband.
"We'd put my hair in these little balls, and then you'd put the head piece over and pull the braids through, and you'd use that to anchor it. We had different horns. At first, they were too heavy. And then, we got them softer.
"We had some that would snap off because I kept banging into things. It all slowly came together. We tried different things, and some of the things didn't work. We had feather hair, at one point. We went that crazy."
Angelina, 38, would consider reprising the role in a follow-up Disney film because she had such a great time embracing the multi-faceted villainous character.
Quizzed whether she'd like to return for a sequel, she replied: "Nobody has asked me about that. I don't know. I can't imagine. I'm not dead, at the end of it. She's still there. I don't know. I loved playing her."
Julianne Moore believes the Hollywood lifestyle can leave people feeling "empty".
The 53-year-old actress stars in David Cronenberg's latest movie 'Maps to the Stars' as ruthless Havana Segrand, a fading star living among the Hollywood elite, and admits the character shows what can go wrong in the movie .
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, she said: "Oh, I wouldn't say she's a monster, although it's true she does behave monstrously at times. She's one of these creatures that are very common in our industry, in that all of her self-worth and affirmation is projected from outside as opposed to inside. And the longer you live that kind of lifestyle, the more empty you become, until there comes a point when you just implode."
Moore - who is married to Bart Freundlich with whom she has son Caleb and daughter Liv - also says the film industry is too age obsessed, something she refuses to subscribe to.
She added: "You know, maybe that's a danger in any profession. But in the movie business it's heightened because it's all tied up with your face and how you look and the world's perception of that. "But the only people who can affirm you are your family. They are the ones who are close to you. They're the only ones who can really see you."

Kim Kardashian has had her final wedding dress fitting.
The reality star is ready to walk down the aisle with Kanye West in Florence, Italy, this Saturday (24.05.14) after completing last minute checks on her top secret designer outfit.
The 33-year-old brunette shared the news during a private family dinner on Wednesday (21.05.14) at the exclusive Hotel Costes in Paris, revealing it fits "perfect".
A source told Us Weekly magazine that Kim announced, "Perfect. It's perfect. Yes, it's done", when quizzed about the gown.
Kim - who previously had several outfit changes during her televised wedding to her second husband Kris Humphries in 2011 - is expected to choose between Givenchy, Azzedine Alaia, Balmain and Lanvin on her big day.
The VOGUE cover girl and Kanye - who have 10-month-old daughter, North, together - are rumoured to have turned down offers of up to $1 million for their wedding pictures because of the 'Otis' rapper's desire for privacy.
Kim previously cashed in $1.5 million for her 2011 as well as receiving $300,000 for her engagement announcement, and the ceremony was recorded and aired on her family's E! reality show 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'.
However, Kim has bigger things to worry about since she is deeply concerned about the changeable weather in Europe.
She was overhead moaning: "I hope the rain doesn't ruin my wedding."
Jennifer Lawrence screamed at Daniel Radcliffe when she first met him because she was so excited.
'The Hunger Games' actress is a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and films and couldn't contain her excitement when she met the actor - who played the titular wizard.
Speaking about the things she was interested in when she was younger on NBC's 'Late Night With Seth Meyers', she said: "I read 'Harry Potter' three times. *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, but it all changes when you get older. You meet everyone and you're like, 'Oh, we're all adults now'. It's not the same as in the '90s."
But when asked if it "wasn't a big deal" when she met Daniel when she was older, she admitted she got star-struck.
She said, "No! I screamed at him the first time that I met him", before joking: "Not like yelled at him, 'You son of a ... I never got my letter! I waited and waited.' "
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old actress also admitted she uses interviews to get revenge on her two older brothers Ben and Blaine for being mean to her when she was younger.
She said: "I don't really care, genuinely, because it's karma. I was the little sister, there was nothing I could do, they threw me downstairs, I thought I was gonna die, every day. Then I turned out to be famous and talked about it on talk shows. It's perfect karma for me, I don't feel bad about that."
