He wrote: "Very sad to hear of @IAmWayneStatic's passing. Spent a lot of time together on @TheOzzfest tours. A tragic loss. Love to his family/friends (sic)"
News of Wayne's passing emerged over the weekend when his publicist confirmed the singer had died.

"Wayne Static was the enigmatic former frontman and namesake of Static-X, who later forged a successful solo career.
"Wayne was scheduled to co-headline tours with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool over the next several months. No additional information is available at this time."
Several other stars also paid tribute to the singer including Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, who admitted he was "devastated".
He tweeted: "I am absolutely devastated to hear about Wayne Static's death. A good man and a good friend. My thoughts are with his family and friends."
Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix also took to Instagram to post a picture of Wayne, whose cause of death is not yet known, and attached a tribute that appeared to suggest he may have passed away from an overdose.
He wrote: "RIP WAYNE.... THIS IS SO SAD. TOO MANY MUSICIANS ARE DYING FROM OVERDOSES. IM SERIOUS ADDICTION IS REAL AND TAKES FOOLS OUT. NO ONE IS INVINCIBLE. SO GLAD I LIVE A SOBER LIFE TODAY. Idris Elba will appear in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.
The British actor, who's previously appeared in 'Thor' and 'Thor: The Dark World', confirmed he's already shot scenes for the eagerly-awaited superhero sequel, which is set to be released next year.
The 42-year-old star - who has recently been DJing in Ibiza - revealed he will star alongside Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth in the film, telling The Sunday Telegraph newspaper: "I'm in 'Avengers'.
"And I'm doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston and they're like, 'Aren't you [meant to be] in Ibiza?'"
The much-anticipated film boasts a star-studded cast, which also features the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans, as well as Mark Ruffal, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L Jackson.
Meanwhile, Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, confirmed recently that 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' will conclude with a revamped superhero team.
He told BuzzFeed: "The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins.
"It's like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was.
"I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film."
Matt Willis says his role in 'Allies' is the "best thing that I've ever done in my acting career".
The 31 year old, who's previously appeared in 'EastEnders' and in the West End in London, revealed that his performance as a Second World War hero in the new film is the most fulfilling of his career.
Speaking on Saturday (01.11.14) about his film debut, the former Busted star said: "It was in my opinion the best thing that I've ever done in my acting career.
"As soon as a read the role I thought it was incredible, I read the role and felt I would be good at playing him. I really wanted this role and I went for it. "
The film - which also features Sir Ben Kingsley's son, Edmund, and 'Downton Abbey' star Julian Ovenden - was directed by Dominic Burns, who reflected: "It's an incredible debut for Matt and the reviews have been really strong.
"He's clearly got what it takes to be a film actor, there is really presence in all his scenes and he's definitely got a major career ahead of him in films."
Based on real events, 'Allies' tells the story of a team of British soldiers, led by a US Captain, who are dropped behind enemy lines in France on a mission that's intended to shorten the war.
Britain's Prince William did work experience at Chatsworth House.
The 32-year-old royal is said to have spent a fortnight living and working at the stately home in Derbyshire, in the East Midlands of England, in October 2005, according to Christine Robinson's new book 'Chatsworth: The Housekeeper's Tale'.
She wrote: "He spent a week working around the estate and made sausage rolls and mince pies.
"Then he spent a week at the house, dressed in overalls, drinking tea and eating fish and chips with the rest of the housemen and joiners."
Christine - who has spent over 40 years rising through the ranks to run the mansion - claims the Duke of Cambridge, who now has 13-month-old son Prince George with his wife Duchess Catherine, was not afraid to get his hands dirty.
She explained: "We were staging a ballet in the theatre, but discovered the stage was too short and had to be extended.
"He was carrying planks of wood through the shop dresses in workmen's clothes."
Speaking about guest's confusion as to whether or not it was the Prince carrying out manual labour, she added: "The look on visitors' faces was priceless, most obviously thought to themselves, 'That joiner is the double of Prince William'.
"When two old ladies came straight out and asked him he admitted he really was the heir to the throne.
"He was, of course, charming."
Chloe Jasmine Whichello has reportedly been dumped after cheating with The X Factor's Stevi Ritchie.
The 23-year-old singer was voted off the ITV talent show last month and was revealed to have been enjoying a fling with cheeky chappy Stevi, despite being in a relationship with Criag Wiffen.
However, despite appearing to forgive his beau for her infidelity, Craig is now said to have ended their relationship, writing a harsh message - which has now been deleted - on Twitter.
According to The Sun newspaper, he wrote: "Chloe-Jasmine is an alcoholic, a liar and a cheat. I hope you and Stevi are very happy together."
Craig is reported to have decided to call it quits with Chloe after Stevi revealed on Saturday night's (01.11.14) episode of 'The X Factor' that the blonde beauty had told him she was no longer in a relationship before their romp in a hotel.
Stevi said: "I was looking for love, and I was hoping I'd found it."
He added to mentor Simon Cowell during a dinner date at Harvester: "I really like her."
Meanwhile, Craig continued his Twitter rant, saying: "A persons character is defined by what they do when nobody is watching."
Stevie Wonder is to be a father to triplets.
The 64-year-old singer and girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy - who gave birth to his eighth child last year - will welcome three babies into the world in 2015, and insiders say having kids is the key to the 'Superstition' star's happiness.
A source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "It's Stevie's mechanism for his happiness. I don't know that he set out to have 11 children, including triplets at his age, but it's not like he isn't happy about it or he can't afford children."
The legendary crooner - who has been married twice and has children with five different women - is said to have told friends he hasn't always been available for his kids when they needed him, but as he has grown older, he has developed closer bonds with his brood, who range in age from one to 39 years old.
A source said: "Aisha [his oldest] enjoys her dad quite a bit, they get together and eat and joke.
"He's been helping [his son] Mumtaz with some of Mumtaz's music and he always talks about how talented his son is.
"He knows that being a father is a full-time job and now that he's a little older, he feels like he's up to the task and he doesn't want to let any of them down."
Anne Hathaway says her marriage has been the "greatest spiritual journey".
The 31-year-old actress thought her nuptials to her jewellery designer husband Adam Shulman in September 2012 was a "great party" but she didn't expect her heart to have such a "radical shift" that came with being married.
She said: "Marriage isn't for everyone but for me it has been the greatest spiritual journey I've been on.
"When we got married I thought it was a great party, but I honestly thought we were doing it more for tradition and I wasn't prepared for the radical shift that my heart was going to have."
Perhaps hinting at her former relationship with her ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri - who she dated for four years before splitting from the real estate developer in 2008 when he was jailed for fraud - Anne admitted she tries to laugh when faced with adversity.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I got through my pain the way I always deal with unpleasant things and that's to make a joke of it."
But the 'Interstellar' star has remained philosophical when it comes to her future.
She added: "No matter what your dreams are, you're always surprised by whatever life hands you. There's a great quote that I love which says, 'Regardless of desire, life hands you who you are.' I wish I knew who said that. It was a really cool person."
One of Robin Williams' final films has been recut in order to be a "fitting tribute" to the late star.
The 63-year-old actor - who committed suicide in August - had been working on 'A Merry Friggin' Christmas' shortly before his death and director Tristram Shapeero has changed the planned ending in order to honour the screen icon.
He told the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l column: "We talked to the production company and we said, 'We need to recut it, we need to restore it. We need to do some work to make it a fitting tribute to Robin."
Robin portrayed a recovering alcoholic and imperfect father in the film and his co-star Joel McHale, 42, says working with him was an emotional experience.
He said: "[His character] wasn't super serious and it wasn't super wacky. "I think in real life people are like that, they become hilarious in how serious they are.
"[One scene] was pretty emotionally charged, and it was the first time I was ever asked to break down on camera, and we both were breaking down.
"We had to do it over and over again, and the emotion just burst out of Robin."
Clark Duke, 29, who plays Robin's son in the movie, hailed his late co-star a "hero" and was thrilled to work alongside him.
He said: "When you meet one of your heroes, you set yourself up to be disappointed. But he was just so great, and it was kind of surprising just how good of a guy he was."
'A Merry Friggin' Christmas' - which hits US cinemas later this week - is one of four movies the late actor had worked on before his death that have not yet been released.
Over the Christmas period, he can be seen again as Teddy Roosevelt in 'Night of the Museum: Secret of the Tomb', which finished production in May and will be released on December 19.
Additionally, the 'Aladdin' star lent his voice to animated pooch Dennis the Dog in live-action comedy 'Absolutely Anything', which also features Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale and will be released some time next year.
A fourth film, 'Boulevard', debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year but has yet to find theatrical distribution.
Rupert Grint used to dream his legs had been replaced by forks.
The 26-year-old star admits he used wake up in a "complete state of panic" after dreaming his legs had turned into the cutlery items, but he couldn't get anybody to believe him when he told them about his nighttime imaginings.
He said: "I used to have this really weird dream. No one ever really believes me but I dream I have forks for legs. Weird, isn't it?
"I'm in a complete state of panic because my legs are forks."
The 'Harry Potter' star's bizarre dreams are not the only unusual thing in his life as he wakes up every morning in his New York apartment to see a man with a bird on his head cycling past his pad.
He explained: "There's a cyclists who cycles past my apartment most days with a cockatoo on his head. It does cheer me up when I see that."
As well as the cockatoo cyclist, the 'Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman' actor also has a penchant for pets and has been kitting out his tortoise Madeleine with knitwear ready for the winter.
He added to Metro newspaper: "I just bought knitwear for my pet tortoise, Madeleine, for winter.
"They're like tea cosies. I've got a Christmas hat, obviously for Christmas. And a shark, a little fin.
"They're made to order, they look great."
Jamie Dornan refused to show his penis in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The 32-year-old actor will play the BDSM-obsessed character of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E. L. James' best-selling erotic novel, and has revealed that although he does strip off in the movie, he had a contract agreeing that his member wouldn't be shown.
He confessed to The Observer newspaper: "There were contracts in place that said that viewers wouldn't be seeing my, um... my todger."
When informed that 43-year-old actor Ewan McGregor is the opposite, and likes to expose himself in films, the star joked: "Does he? Well, maybe Ewan has a more impressive girth."
The film - which is set to be released in February 2015 - will see the model act opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, but warned fans not to expect the couple to have too much sex, despite the saucy nature of the film.
He said: "You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out. You don't want to make something gratuitous, and ugly, and graphic."
However, the hunk revealed that he is still unsure about how explicit the movie will be, as he hasn't watched it yet.
He added: "I haven't seen it at this stage, so it is hard for me to say. I'm aware what we shot, and it wasn't as if we shot a film without any action."
Jon Favreau loved the reaction to the 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' trailer.
The first look at the upcoming sequel was leaked last month and the 'Iron Man' director claims that while it would be a shame if material that wasn't finished was released, he thinks it proves how popular Marvel films have become.
He said: "Well, by the time I knew it happened, it had already been released officially.
"I remember back during 'Iron Man', footage snuck out from [San Diego] Comic-Con. I think what it shows is that there is tremendous enthusiasm for it, and fortunately it was ready to go out officially.
"You know, things don't always happen the way you want them to in the information age, but I really love the reaction that the trailer got and I think it's wonderful."
Favreau - who was dropped as director and made executive producer on 'Iron Man 3' - also insisted he has no knowledge of whether or not there ill be a fourth instalment in the superhero franchise.
He added to Access Hollywood: "I don't know what's going on with 'Iron Man 4'. You have to talk to Robert [Downey Jr.] or [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige."
Matt Willis felt like he'd been "dumped" after Busted split up.
The 31-year-old has spoken about feeling lost when the 'Year 3000' singers broke up in 2005, because he didn't know what he should do next.
He confessed: "I felt dumped. I had to do something else musically. I did a solo record after Busted but I didn't feel like it was my calling."
The singer-songwriter - who is now in the supergroup McBusted - was admitted to rehab three times in the three years after the band split, and has now opened up about the turbulent period of his life.
Remembering the period after the band broke up, he said: "When Busted finished I could have done a lot of good things but I chose to get high and p**sed all the time, which was a f**king big mistake."
The father-of-two - who is now married to television presenter Emma Willis - said that although it was a dangerous time, he does not regret his drug-fuelled lifestyle.
He added: "I don't think I'd change that,
"That period of my life made me who I am today. I'm actually glad that certain s**t things happened to me because it made me appreciate how great all the good things actually are."
