Danny Dyer thinks he could play Sherlock and Doctor Who.
The 37-year-old actor believes there could be a place for him in the hit BBC shows - which are currently played by posh stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Peter Capaldi - despite his heavy Cockney accent.
Danny shared: "I think that I could play Sherlock, if I did it my way.
"Benedict's brilliant and the lines roll off his tongue, but that role is about being highly intelligent rather than posh.
"I think I could do Doctor Who as well."
The 'EastEnders' star explained how Benedict's clipped tones might work in some forms of film, such as the 2014 movie 'The Imitation Game', but doesn't see how the 38-year-old actor could transform himself into a working class character.
Danny told Radio Times magazine: "I love Benedict. 'The Imitation Game' looks amazing. He couldn't play a kid from a working-class estate, but I couldn't do what he does either.
"But there is a niche for what I do. And there's a demographic for Benedict. But it means that he's more likely to get roles in Hollywood and I'm more likely to stay living in Debden [Essex]."
Danny - who is known for his hardman roles in 'The Football Factory' and 'The Business' - admitted that Benedict would get "annihilated" if he tried to go to a regular pub.
He joked: "In this country, he has got utmost respect, but if he walked into a pub, he'd get annihilated by geezers. He'd be bullied."
Ian McLagan has died.
The Faces and Small Faces keyboardist passed away in hospital in Austin, Texas, at the age of 69 yesterday (03.12.14) after reportedly suffering a "massive stroke".
After the Faces - who changed their name from the Small Faces in 1969 when Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood joined - split in 1975, Ian began working as a session musician playing with artists including Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, Bruce Springsteen and Chuck Berry.
Billy is among the first to pay tribute to the musician, hailing Ian as one of the "greatest players" in British rock.
He tweeted: "I have lost a dear friend and British rock has lost one of its greatest players. RIP Ian McLagan".
Ronnie - whose Rolling Stones saxophonist Bobby Keys also died this week - also used social media to express his sadness.
Alongside images of praying hands, he wrote: "God bless Bobby and Mac (sic)"
Steve Jones, guitarist with the Sex Pistols, who tweeted: "Sorry to hear Ian McLagan died today, he and the faces was a big part of my teens."
It is believed Ian - whose wife Kim Kerrigan passed away in 2006 - was surrounded by friends and family when he died.
Ridley Scott has reopened the possibility of directing the 'Blade Runner' sequel.
The 77-year-old movie-maker was responsible for the first film in 1982 and although he's previously said he won't be returning to the role for 'Blade Runner 2', he now appears to have performed a U-turn.
He said: "I don't know about not directing 'Blade Runner 2' yet."
Ridley has been coy about the plot of the new film, but has revealed that he and writer Hampton Fancher have already produced a storyline.
The English director told Yahoo: "It's a tricky one because it's so personal. The script is very, very good. Very good. I wouldn't know what sort of director we'd want. It's a hard one to track because it's a very personal piece of my work.
"We talked at length about what it could be, and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline, and it all makes sense in terms of how it relates to the first one."
He also confirmed Harrison Ford, 72 - who starred in the original - will be appearing in the sequel, but told fans not to expect to see him until late in the movie.
Ridley - whose new film 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' is out this month - explained: "Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it's about finding him; he comes in in the third act."
'Unbroken' star Miyavi threw up in front of Angelina Jolie.
The movie - which is set in a Japanese prisoner of war camp during World War II - was the musician's first Hollywood film, and he admitted the unfortunate incident occurred because he was so nervous about shooting his scenes as torturous sergeant, Matsuhiro Watanabe.
The 33-year-old star admitted: "I literally threw up."
Although the 39-year-old actress - who directed the film - was on hand to comfort the rocker by urging him to calm down, he confessed it didn't ease his anxiety and he ended up vomiting again after returning to the film's set.
He told New York Post newspaper: "But Angie knows how actors feel. She said, 'Just be yourself. Accept yourself.' I got back to the set . . . and I threw up again."
The film follows the story of Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini, played by Jack O'Connell, who was conscripted into the army before being captured in Japan, and Miyavi previously said it was difficult to deal with the harrowing scenes because it's such an upsetting part of his country's history.
He explained: "I didn't want to be just a bad guy. I wanted to put humanity in this role. [Matsuhiro] was both crazy and sadistic, but also weak and traumatised.
"It's a story that is still painful for my country and after filming some of the more violent scenes, I couldn't stop crying."
James Bay is the 2015 BRITs Critics' Choice Award winner.
The 24-year-old singer-songwriter has beaten off competition from over 100 up-and-coming acts to take the prize, with George The Poet and Years & Years named runners up and he admitted he was "speechless" to scoop the prestigious accolade.
He said: "I'm pretty speechless. After all the years I've spent watching the BRITs and even after this year; watching my fan base grow so much, I never thought I'd actually be getting an award myself. And what a huge honour to be following the incredible artists who've won before! I'm really chuffed, thank you to everyone who has supported me."
James - who recently completed a sell-out UK tour and has also supported acts including Tom Odell and John Newman - will receive his award at the 'BRITs Are Coming' nominations show on 15 January ahead of the main BRIT Awards with MasterCard ceremony at London's The O2 on 25 February.
As well as picking up his trophy, James will perform on the show, as will Clean Bandit and FKA Twigs.
The Critics' Choice Award - which has previously been won by the likes of Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Adele and Jessie J - was chosen by a panel of experts, who considered artists who are signed to a record label and have a debut album set for release in 2015.
Lana Del Rey's biggest "inspiration" used to be New York.
The 'Born to Die' hitmaker loved living in the city for eight years and it was a big influence on her songwriting until she found fame, as she now finds it harder to travel around without being recognised.
She said: "I loved New York. When I was there it was almost my sole source of inspiration, more than any other man, writer or rapper, but it's harder for me to get around now.
" I used to take late night walks over the Williamsburg Bridge, go to all the 24 hour diners with $5 and beg the waiters to let me stay all night in exchange for the purchase of one giant slice of chocolate cake.
" I would sit for hours and read about interesting people like Karl Lagerfeld and listen to books on tape by Tony Robins to keep me company. I would take the D train to Coney Island, take the D train back to the Bronx where I lived on Hughes Avenue."
The 29-year-old singer is working hard on new music and particularly enjoys having her work used in movies.
Interviewed by her sister for Galore magazine, she said: "I just wrote two songs for Tim Burton and Harvey Weinstein's film called Big Eyes and I'm working on a new record. I'm also always writing small pieces for independent films etc. Dan Heath and Rick Nowels are two of my dearest friends and producers and we are always up to something."
Lana's accompanying photoshoot for the interview was taken by her boyfriend, Francesco Carrozzini.
Britain's Prince Harry has a "natural talent" for stockbroking.
The 30-year-old royal was taking part in the ICAP Charity Day, during which famous people trade on behalf of brokers with the commissions going to charity, in London yesterday (03.12.14) when a trader confessed he'd picked up the job quickly, the Daily Telegraph newspaper reports.
Speaking after Harry managed to upgrade his £25 million deal to £30 million, Alexander Blayney said: "My seller was finished selling. He [Harry] snatched the phone off me and forced him into some more for charity. He is a better broker than me, put it that way. It was class. Natural talent."
However, despite being told he could swap his career in the army for a job in the City, Harry admitted he couldn't understand any of the financial jargon being used by the traders, describing it as "gibberish".
After being instructed to tell someone on the phone, "Dec Jan barges BNP buys from BP 25kt plus 1/4 via ice block", Harry said: "Are you taking the mick? You are making up your own dictionary of words. I have never heard so much rubbish in my life."
The flame-haired royal also bumped into 'Homeland' actor Damian Lewis at the event, who joked he was more of a celebrity than the fourth in line to the throne.
Lewis joked: "What is it like being the second most famous redhead?"
A number of charities are set to benefit from the money raised during the day, including the England Rugby's All Schools Programme, for which Harry is patron.
Michael Buerk has left the 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' jungle.
The 68-year-old broadcaster was the third celebrity to be voted off the ITV reality series in last night's (03.12.14) episode despite appearing to come out of his shell during his time in the Australian jungle.
Quizzed by presenters Ant & Dec on what he'd really thought of the experience following his departure from the camp, he said: "I thought they'd all be t***ers and not all of them were. I thought the regime was hard but the people were better."
The award-winning journalist lasted an incredible 19 days in the jungle but admitted he was "pleased" to leave so he could be reunited with his wife Christine and tuck into a nice meal after shedding weight while on jungle rations.
Speaking about the campmates struggles with the lack of food, he said: "It's amazing how it alters your mood. People get down when they are hungry."
Michael's exit from camp comes after glamour model Nadia Forde, 25, was voted off on Tuesday (02.12.14) and former Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard's shock eviction on Monday (01.12.14).
The oldest member of the camp - who formed a close friendship with rapper Tinchy Stryder during his time on the show - went on to admit that he'd like to see former 'X Factor' contestant Jake Quickenden crowned King of the Jungle.
Jimmy Fallon has become a father for the second time.
The 40-year-old talk show host and his wife Nancy Juvonen, 47, welcomed daughter Frances Cole - a sister for 16-month-old Winnie - into the world yesterday (03.12.14) morning via a surrogate, his representative has confirmed.
Their spokesperson said: "The 'Tonight Show' host Jimmy Fallon and his wife, Nancy, have welcomed a baby girl.
"Frances Cole Fallon officially entered the world at 8:45 am on December 3rd weighing 5 lbs. 11 ounces and is 18.5 inches long. Their new addition joins big sister, Winnie Rose.
"The couple opted to keep their baby joy to themselves until their new daughter, Frances Cole, made her official debut. Both Fallon babies were born via surrogate."
The happy news meant 'Tonight Show' recordings for yesterday and today (04.12.14) were scrapped, with reruns scheduled in their place.
A spokesperson for network NBC said: "Due to unexpected but delightful circumstances, 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' has had to cancel tapings for [Wednesday and Thursday]. Wednesday's repeat airing will include Daniel Radcliffe, Mike Tyson and musical guest Sturgill Simpson and Thursday's repeat guests are Gordon Ramsay, Fallonventions and musical guest Little Big Town.
"We look forward to resuming original episodes in the very near future."
Like Frances, the couple didn't reveal they were expecting their first child and Jimmy previously admitted he and Nancy thought things would be more "fun" that way.
He said: "We said, 'We're not going to tell anybody.' It'd be just more fun if it's just private between me and my wife. And then we get to introduce her to everybody.
"When it happened we were in shock. We were like, 'Alright, who do we tell? Who's going to be mad at us if this gets out?' We had to call everybody and it's so emotional!"
Jack O'Connell thinks Dame Judi Dench "fancies" him.
The 24-year-old actor has a huge crush on his 'Tulip Fever' co-star and is convinced the 79-year-old actress - whose husband Michael Williams died in 2001 - shares his feelings.
The single star said: "I fancy her. I really fancy her. I think she fancies me.
"I bought her a bottle of Moet [champagne] and she kissed me on my cheek. Then she said, 'Goodbye darling boy.'
"Can I quote something else she said: She turned to me and she went, 'Sock it to 'em, Jack.' "
Jack has recently been working on 'Unbroken', which is directed by Angelina Jolie and says both the brunette beauty and her husband, Brad Pitt, got along well with his family.
He told Britain's Glamour magazine: "There was one occasion since 'Unbroken', when we were all in London, and Angie invited us for some dinner and Brad was there.
"I had a word with Angie and said, 'Look, do you reckon Brad would say hello to my mum?' and she said, 'Yeah! And the rest.'
"My mum was talking to him as if he was one of our [family], and he must have warmed to her.
"People do warm to that about my mum. 20 minutes later, they'd become pals."
Joel Edgerton wore a "solid gold thong" underneath his 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' costume.
The 40-year-old actor stars as Ramses in the upcoming action-adventure-drama and his co-star Christian Bale, who stars as his enemy Moses, has revealed he got a bit carried away with his costume.
Bale said: "He always wore gold, he had this magnificent gold skirt. He insisted on having gold on every inch of his skin. He actually had [costume designer] Janty Yates build him a solid gold thong that he wore underneath. That's really an inspiration - he really gets into his role."
The film sees Moses rise up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses, setting thousands of slaves on a journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying deadly plagues and director Ridley Scott has joked their rivalry stemmed from Moses' envy.
Speaking to Yahoo Movies, he laughed: "He [Ramses] loved his golden underpants, golden slippers, jockstrap - he just loved it. Moses was quite jealous. He was in homespun and sandals."
Meanwhile, Bale also revealed it took a lot of preparation to transform himself into Moses after starring as overweight loan-shark Irving Rosenfeld in 'American Hustle'.
He explained: "The iconic visuals of Moses are that he's very hairy and very skinny. I was the opposite.
"Unfortunately, I was coming from a film called 'American Hustle', where I was shaped more like Santa Claus. I had the girth of about three men."
Westlife are reportedly planning a comeback.
The 'You Raise Me Up' hitmakers announced their split just three years ago but it's now been revealed their former record label Syco have persuaded them to return for another album, followed by a tour.
A source shared: "Syco started the talks about getting Westlife back for an album.
"The idea now is that a new album could be released late next year with a tour to follow in 2016.
"The lads still have a massive following that would buy a new album in their droves and pay big money to see them again live.
"Syco want another big banker of an album and Westlife are their most successful act commercially."
However, while Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne are likely to be on board for the reunion, it's unclear whether Brian McFadden - who quit the band in 2004 - would be interested in getting involved.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: "Syco would love Brian to be part of the band again. It'd create the same sort of buzz as when Robbie Williams returned to Take That.
"But the other lads will need to be convinced because they were always very clear that when Brian left it was for good."
