One Direction have been nominated for the Worst Band prize at the NME Awards.
The 'Steal My Girl' hitmakers - Niall Horan, Louis Tomilinson, Harry Styles and Liam Payne - are up for the unwanted 'honour' along with Sleaford Mods, U2, Nickelback and 5SOS at the magazine's annual ceremony next year.
The boys are also dubiously up for the Music Moment of the Year due to their decision to go on hiatus.
Other incidents listed include Adele's record-breaking return, The Libertines' secret Glastonbury set, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl breaking his leg on stage, Florence + the Machine headlining Glastonbury in Foo Fighters' place and Kanye West's performance at the BRIT Awards.
Elsewhere, Kanye is also nominated for both NME's Hero and Villain titles.
Away from the unwanted prizes, The Libertines and Wolf Alice lead the way with six nominations each
Both bands will go head-to-head for some of the biggest awards of the night, including Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Track, Best Music Video and Best Fan Community.
Mike Williams, editor-in-chief of NME, said: "The NME audience has voted in its thousands, and once again have pulled together an exciting, diverse and in some places pretty surprising shortlist for the 2016 Awards.
"Will The Libertines crown their beautiful comeback with a couple of wins? Will Kanye be the hero and villain of the year? Can anyone stop the Adele juggernaut from pulverising everything in its path?
"All will be revealed once the people have had their final say. I'm really excited and can't wait for the big night."
The magazine's awards first started in 1953, one year after the launch of NME and has seen the likes of The Beatles, Blondie, Noel Gallagher and The Who perform at it.
The winners will be announced at the star-studded bash on February 17, 2016 at London's O2 Academy Brixton.

Busted are heading to Los Angeles to write their comeback hit.
The 'Year 3000' hitmakers - consisting of Matt Willis, James Bourne and Charlie Simpson - announced they're going on next Spring but before then, they'll be in the states penning tracks for the 2016 album and at least one "new song" that will be released soon and will kick off the tour with a bang.
Charlie - who rejoined the group 10 years after quitting - exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "The new music is going to be really good I think. We're going to LA in a couple of weeks to start recording and so we should have a new song out before the tour, and I'm excited about that."
Matt thinks their time apart has broadened their individual music tastes but he's looking forward to returning to their familiar "fun" style of music.
Speaking from the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards at London's One Mayfair,on Wednesday (02.12.15), he added: "The good thing about time, I think when you're younger your music tastes kind of define you, in a way, for a lot of us, and what you're into defines you. You have time you just listen to everything and take everything in and that's where we are right now. We're just making it cool, fun pop music."
And the tour will be just as "high-energy".
Charlie said: "We're enjoying life. It's a good place to be. We want it (tour) to be a fun show, a high energy show. It's going to be a fun day that, when we go in and start talking about the creatives of the show because you can literally do anything."

Blurred Vision's cover of 'Another Brick in the Wall' is "theirs", says Roger Waters.
The prog rock group - consisting of brothers Sepp and Sohl Osley and drummer Ben Riley - reworked the Pink Floyd classic hit which features on the band's 1979 rock-opera album 'The Wall', but hadn't yet asked permission from the band and weren't expecting the legendary bass player to give them his blessing to cover it.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, vocalist Sepp revealed: "We went into the studio and met our producer Terry Brown - the legend himself - who took us under his wing and we started recording our own version of Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick in the Wall'.
"We sent it over to Roger Waters' camp because we didn't want to do anything without his permission. We had a gut feeling this was going to be huge and we didn't want to do anything until we got his blessing because he's our biggest hero. He not only gave us his blessing, but he said, 'From here on in this song is yours. Nobody needs to come to me any more, you own this rendition of 'Another Brick in the Wall'."
And Sepp thinks it was the moment that made his career, who he now counts as his "hero".
He continued: "In an essence our careers wouldn't have happened without Roger. Our hero that we grew up with turns out to be the one responsible for launching our career."
Meanwhile, the band also released a song and music video as a tribute to late Beatles star John Lennon with proceeds going to the WhyHunger charity - which the band are ambassadors for.

Grimes insists she isn't a "pop star".
The 'Oblivion' singer followed up on the success of her 2012 debut album 'Visions' with the critically acclaimed 'Art Angels' this year, but she doesn't want her achievements to pigeonhole her as a mainstream musician and confessed she even "hates" the label.
The "shy" singer told NME magazine: "I hate the words 'pop star'. I don't make pop music. I'm on an indie label. I don't want to feel pressure to be a world-class singer, or a professional level dancer, or super beautiful. I'm not good at any of those things, and I'm very shy."
The Canadian songstress - real name Claire Elise Boucher - has been awarded NME's Album of the Year 2015 title for 'Art Angels' which features synthpop, keyboards and guitars is topped with sugary high-pitched vocals.
But the star says her "experimental" sound is closer to the likes '1979' hitmakers Smashing Pumpkins than it is to pop.
She said: "I just want to make what I want to make. No-one calls Smashing Pumpkins pop stars. No-one calls Trent Reznor a pop star. You can be experimental and have a big audience and not be pop."
Grimes is delighted to receive NME's album accolade and admits the success of both her last LPs seems "insane".
She told the magazine: "Everything seems so insane that I'm currently unable to process it all. Right now it's rather dream-like."

Ringo Starr is auctioning off the very first copy of The Beatles' self-titled 1968 record, known as 'The White' album.
Every copy of the band's eponymous album came with its own serial number stamped on the cover and the 74-year-old drummer is selling number A0000001, at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills.
Ringo - who was joined in The Fab Four by Sir Paul McCartney and the late John Lennon and George Harrison - has had the LP locked in a bank vault for 35 years but before he put it away to preserve it he used to play it at home.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, he said: "We used to play the vinyl in those days. We didn't think, 'We'll keep it for 50 years and it will be in pristine condition.' Whoever gets it, it will have my fingerprints on it."
The record is expected to sell for up to $50,000 (£30,000).
Known as 'The White Album' - because of its all-white sleeve with no text or graphics except for the band's name embossed - it was originally a double vinyl, four-side LP and it contains a plethora of the band's most revered work including 'Back In The U.S.S.R', 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da', 'Blackbird', 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps', 'Good Night' and 'Helter Skelter'.
All four members of the group have significant songwriting credits, but it was John who demanded to own the very first pressed copy, according to Paul, when the band decided to have the records individually numbered.
The first four pressings were, however, all in possession of The Beatles while copy No. 0000005 sold at an auction in 2008 for just under $30,000 (£20,000).
The sale of the album copy is part of more than 800 items Ringo, 75, is auctioning off from his astonishing music career and life with wife Barbara Bach to raise money for his Lotus Foundation charity - which aims to advance social welfare for a variety of good causes including child and family issues, homelessness and substance abuse.
Other highlights from the sale include the suit he wore in film 'A Hard Day's Night', a 1964 Rickenbacker electric guitar given to him by John and a pair of rings he wore at every live Beatles gig he ever played.
Speaking about letting some of his treasured possessions go, he said: "Some of the stuff, it's a real surprise that we still had it because it's been in storage for so long. I don't mind getting rid of a lot of stuff and it goes to good use. That's the deal."

Ella Eyre's sophomore record is going to be "very personal".
The 'Gravity' hitmaker released her debut LP 'Feline' earlier this year and is already starting to put ideas together for her follow up record, which will be crafted with new writers, and has teased that the focus of the songs will be on her private life.
Speaking at London's Tape nightclub for the VIP launch of MTV Brand New 2016 with Emporio Armani Diamonds, she told BANG Showbiz: "I'm writing album number two. I'm just experimenting at the moment so I'm really enjoying that. But I'm going to be spending a lot more time in America next year and writing with a few writers and seeing where we end up really. I'm still in the loop but I will definitely be focusing on the new album.
"I just want to enjoy it, I know I don't want to spend too long on it but I know I want it to be very personal and I'll look forward to what I'll come up with."
Elsewhere, Ella - who is dating Rixton drummer Lewi Morgan - hasn't ruled out the possibility of collaborating with her boyfriend's band.
She said: "Who knows why not? Let's see what happens... see what direction they might take. They might end up doing some heavy metal."
And asked who is on her wish list to work with, Ella added:
"I'd love to work with Mark Ronson and I'd be intrigued to see what we'd come up with. I think he is one of the most unique producers out there. "
