Katherine Heigl ‘stopped challenging’ herself

Katherine Heigl 'stopped challenging' herself in movies.
The 35-year-old actress - known for her roles in comedies such as 'Knocked Up' and '27 Dresses' - has admitted she began to feel worn down by parts in rom-coms after failing to push herself to take on a variety of roles.
She told the August issue of Marie Claire: "I had an amazing time [doing rom-coms]. I love romantic comedies. But maybe I hit it a little too hard. I couldn't say no.
"I stopped challenging myself. It became a bit by rote and, as a creative person, that can wear you down."
The 35-year-old actress - who is set to return to television in November this year in the NBC drama 'State Of Affairs' - also opened up about her decision to take time off from the industry
She explained: "That was part of why I took that time off, to ask myself, 'What do I want? What am I looking for?' and shut down all the noise.
"I had a moment where, I don't know, I was thinking, 'Maybe open a knitting store, get my money out of retirement accounts and live off that, live off the land.
"I had my moment where it all seemed so complicated and all I wanted to do was simplify."

James Buckley: Filming in Australia was lad’s holiday

James Buckley says filming 'The Inbetweeners 2' in Australia was like going on a lad's holiday.
The 26-year-old actor and star of 'The Inbetweeners' TV series and films has confessed it was a dream come true to be able to film the second movie Down Under.
He said: "We were very lucky to spend a bit of time in the Outback, which was an adventure. It's an amazing country and we loved being there.
"We were really shocked that so many people were happy to have us there. We had no idea that 'The Inbetweeners' was so popular over there. It made for a really pleasurable trip."
Buckley admitted that while travelling to Australia with co-stars Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas was like going on a lad's holiday, he thinks they've matured a lot since the series first began in 2008.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he explained: "We're not really lads though! On one of the down days, I was working unfortunately so I missed out, but the other lads went on a wine-tasting trip up in the mountains.
"That's the sort of sophisticated lads we are [these days]."
He also claims it was easy to slip back into his character Jay Cartwright's sleazy ways, adding: "We really got back to that good old disgusting, immature mentality straight away. It was really nice to be back."
James recently hosted an epic pub crawl event in Shoreditch, east London to help celebrate Bing's fifth birthday. Find out more about how to take part in the Bing It On challenge at www.bingiton.com.

Pierce Brosnan wants Expendables 4 role

Pierce Brosnan wants to appear in 'The Expendables 4'.
The actor has confirmed he approached producer Avi Lerner about a potential role in the next instalment of Lionsgate's star-studded action franchise alongside Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and co.
He told ComingSoon.net: "I said, 'If it works out and you have a good script, Avi, you know where to find me if you still want me.' It's as simple as that really."
The 61-year-old star added: "Sylvester Stallone is the one that's given us these wonderful platforms for actors who have and had careers to go play and have fun and to entertain. To bring a bunch of guys together who saved the world, fought the bad guys, and put them all on the same stage, that's crazy good."
The British star would fit in with the rest of the cast perfectly after cutting his teeth playing secret agent 007 in four 'James Bond' films, and he claims he misses the thrill of no-nonsense action blockbusters.
He added: "It's just about entertainment. Avi is somebody I've heard about and his movies always have big brash entertainment value to them. You can really change the world and that's great, but 'The Expendables'? Yeah, I'd love to do 'The Expendables.' It's just a kick in the pants."
'The Expendables' was initially released in 2010 and the third instalment will be released in August this year, starring Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li, who reprise their roles as leaders of the titular group of mercenaries Barney Ross, second-in-command Lee Christmas and martial arts specialist Yin Yang, respectively.

Melissa McCarthy: Susan Sarandon’s gorgeous ankles

Melissa McCarthy says Susan Sarandon's ankles were "too good looking" for her character in 'Tammy'.
The 'Bridesmaids' actress has revealed that as the 67-year-old Academy Award winner plays her alcoholic grandmother in the comedy, they had to put a lot of effort into making her look older and less attractive than she naturally is.
She explained: "Listen, the amount of work that went into taking the glow off of her.
"We've got fake ankles on her, I mean whose ankles are gorgeous? We literally had to make prosthetic ankles and I was like, 'Oh for God's sake, your ankles are too good looking?'
"And then I looked at her ankles and I was like, 'Oh my god you've got gorgeous ankles'.
The 43-year-old comedienne - who is married to the film's director Ben Falcone - also joked that it was hard not to take offence when the production team claimed Sarandon was too attractive on camera.
Speaking on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' McCarthy added: "Anyway she wears this crazy wig and we put dumpy clothes on her and then every once in a while, this happened two times, when there was a lot of talking and looking around from Ben I was like, 'Can we help? There seems to be a hold up?' And they said, 'Susan looks too good'.
"And I was like, 'Oh, is it pretty lighting, do we both look too good?' ... 'No, just Susan!'"
The movie follows McCarthy's character Tammy, who, after losing her job, husband and car in one day, decides to escape from her small town existence, but with no form of transport she's forced to take her party-animal grandmother Pearl (Sarandon) with her.

The 'Wanderlust' actor has signed on to star alongside Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson and Kristen Wiig in the untitled project formerly known as 'Loomis Fargo', Deadline reports.

Keri Russell: Andy Serkis ‘unbelievable’

Keri Russell thinks Andy Serkis is an "unbelievable" actor.
'The Americans' star, who takes on the role of Ellie in 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes', claims her co-star - who provides the voice for ape leader Caesar in the film as well as that of Golum in 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' movies - isn't given enough recognition in the film industry.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: "Andy is just so good. That was really the treat of doing this movie. I really hope people start paying attention to him. He's unbelievable."
Serkis' character leads a nation of genetically evolved apes as they are threatened by a band of human survivors of a devastating virus which was unleashed a decade earlier, and the film's screenwriters claim it was his talent that allowed Caesar to speak.
Rick Jaff and Amanda Silver explained: "The decision to have him speak and have words - it was really Andy, [We] credit him with figuring out Caesar's voice."
'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' is scheduled for release in the UK on July 17 2014.

Joe Letteri agrees with rename of the final Hobbit film

Joe Letteri insists the title for the final instalment of 'The Hobbit' had to be changed.
The visual effects artist - who is known for his work on films including 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' - claims director Peter Jackson made the right decision in changing the name of the final instalment of the epic fantasy trilogy.
Following on from 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' and 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug', the third in the series was originally going to be named 'The Hobbit: There and Back Again' but was altered earlier this year to 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies'.
Quizzed on whether he felt the new title was a better fit for the concluding chapter, Letteri said: "Yeah because it is the climax, and you really just need to know that there is another battle for Middle-earth."
'The Hobbit' serves as a prequel to 'The Lord of the Rings' - both of which were written by J.R.R. Tolkien and adapted into films by Jackson - and Letteri thinks the new title better demonstrates that.
He told Collider: "The whole extension of The Hobbit's story has really been to get us to the point where we understand when we leave it what's going to happen when you pick up the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, and this really does kind of set that tone."
When asked whether the battle will be the highlight of all six films, Letteri added: "We hope so, that's the whole idea ... It's got to give you the sense that if it isn't won, there is no 'Lord of the Rings'."
'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' is slated for worldwide release in December 2014.
