James Buckley: Filming in Australia was lad’s holiday

James Buckley says filming ‘The Inbetweeners 2’ in Australia was like going on a lad’s holiday.

The 26-year-old actor and star of ‘The Inbetweeners’ TV series and films has confessed it was a dream come true to be able to film the second movie Down Under.

He said: "We were very lucky to spend a bit of time in the Outback, which was an adventure. It’s an amazing country and we loved being there.

"We were really shocked that so many people were happy to have us there. We had no idea that ‘The Inbetweeners’ was so popular over there. It made for a really pleasurable trip."

Buckley admitted that while travelling to Australia with co-stars Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas was like going on a lad’s holiday, he thinks they’ve matured a lot since the series first began in 2008.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he explained: "We’re not really lads though! On one of the down days, I was working unfortunately so I missed out, but the other lads went on a wine-tasting trip up in the mountains.

"That’s the sort of sophisticated lads we are [these days]."

He also claims it was easy to slip back into his character Jay Cartwright’s sleazy ways, adding: "We really got back to that good old disgusting, immature mentality straight away. It was really nice to be back."

James recently hosted an epic pub crawl event in Shoreditch, east London to help celebrate Bing’s fifth birthday. Find out more about how to take part in the Bing It On challenge at www.bingiton.com.
