Joe Manganiello linked to role of Deathstroke in Suicide Squad

Joe Manganiello is a candidate to play Deathstroke in 'Suicide Squad'.
The 38-year-old hunk, who played Flash Thompson in the original 'Spider-Man' film series and also appeared in the 2012 hit 'Magic Mike', is being lined-up for the role of Slade Wilson - who's also known as Deathstroke - in the eagerly-awaited new movie, Cinema Blend reports.
Over the last few months, a number of high-profile performers have been attached to the film, including Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto as Deadshot, Harley Quinn and The Joker respectively.
However, with shooting expected to start later this month, the part of Deathstroke remains officially unfilled.
Meanwhile, Will Smith recently insisted that details of 'Suicide Squad' will remain a closely-guarded secret.
The 46-year-old star confirmed he was busy preparing for his part, but insisted that he's not able to reveal any information about the film before its release.
Asked whether he could discuss the 'Suicide Squad' movie, Will said: "No sir, I'd have to kill you. It's top secret but it's really good, though. It's great stuff, fantastic. I'm already in shape for it, I'm already training."

Frozen Fever score previewed online

A two-minute preview of the score to 'Frozen Fever' has been released online.
The eagerly-awaited short film is set to debut later this month and Christophe Beck - the composer of the score - has revealed it's been inspired by the 2013 musical fantasy-comedy film, starring Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, whose performance of the track 'Let It Go' won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
He explained: "I made a conscious effort to have the score for Frozen Fever evoke the spirit of the feature film - in fact, the first few bars reprise one of the themes from Frozen.
"From then on, though, I introduce new material, but it never strays far from its musical ancestor."
To create the distinctive 'Frozen' sound, Beck "used indigenous Scandinavian instruments, to give people a sense of time and place that felt new and unique to Frozen, but with a more traditional symphonic backbone providing that classic Disney feeling".
Meanwhile, Kristen Bell, who starred as Anna in the original movie, revealed recently that her two children - Lincoln, 23-months, and Delta, 12 weeks - are not allowed to watch the film.
The actress - who's married to Dax Shepard - said: "[Lincoln's] never seen 'Frozen'! She is not my biggest fan. She just doesn't know what I do for a living! She couldn't care less. [It] is extremely humbling to come home to someone who couldn't care less about what you do!
"The APA [American Psychological Association] recommends that you let kids watch TV when they're 2 and a half, so we're trying to follow that, which unfortunately is not realistic for all parents."

Liam Neeson quitting action films

Liam Neeson is planning to quit action films.
The 62-year-old actor has become famous for starring in action-thrillers such as the 'Taken' trilogy despite having starred in films such as 'Schindler's List' and 'Star Wars' in the past, but he's now confessed he wants to move on from the genre in the next couple of years.
He said: "Maybe two more years - if God spares me, and I'm healthy. But after that, I'll stop [the action], I think."
Neeson reprised his role as former secret agent and security expert Bryan Mills in 'Taken 3' earlier this year and admits the success of the action franchise has seen him inundated with offers for other movies but that he's well aware it can't go on forever.
According to the Guardian newspaper, he explained: "I'm in a very, career-wise, great place. The success certainly of the Taken films, Hollywood seems to see me in a different light. I get sent quite a few action-orientated scripts, which is great. I'm not knocking it. It's very flattering. But there is a limit of course."
In addition to his success in the action genre, however, Neeson also starred in 'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane's comedy-western 'A Million Ways to Die In The West' last year and is set to work with him again on 'Ted 2' this summer.
Meanwhile, he will next star in 'Run All Night', recently wrapped filming on 'A Monster Calls' and is currently filming for his role as Father Ferreira in 'Silence'.

Richard Glatzer dies aged 63

Richard Glatzer has passed away aged 63.
The 'Still Alice' director was diagnosed with motor neurone disease - also known as ALS - shortly before he began working on the Oscar-winning film in 2011, but died from complications of the illness in Los Angeles on Tuesday (10.03.15), Ekta Farrar of the publicity firm Block-Korenbrot has confirmed.
In a statement from Wash Westmoreland, who married Richard in 2013 and co-directed the film, he spoke about his devastation at Richard's passing, and thanked people who had offered their condolences.
He said: "I am devastated.
"Rich was my soulmate, my collaborator, my best friend and my life. Seeing him battle ALS for four years with such grace and courage inspired me and all who knew him.
"In this dark time, I take some consolation in the fact that he got to see 'Still Alice' go out into the world. He put his heart and soul into that film, and the fact that it touched so many people was a constant joy to him.
"Thank you to everyone for this huge outpouring of love. Richard was a unique guy -- opinionated, funny, caring, gregarious, generous and so, so smart. A true artist and a brilliant man. I treasure every day of the short 20 years we had together.
"I cannot believe he has gone. But in my heart and the hearts of those who loved him, he will always be alive."
The filmmaker's death comes less than three weeks after actress Julianne Moore won the Oscar for Best Actress for portraying a woman who suffers from Alzheimer's.
Richard had been due to attend the Academy Awards ceremony but was rushed to hospital two days earlier after suffering from respiratory problems.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday morning (12.03.15), Julianne posted a link to a news story about the director's death, and wrote, "i love you richard. (sic)"

Lasse Hallström says working with Steven Spielberg is ‘heavenly’

Lasse Hallström found working with Steven Spielberg to be "heavenly".
The 68-year-old director helmed the 2014 comedy-drama film 'The Hundred-Foot Journey' after he was drafted into the role as Spielberg's replacement, but has revealed how much he cherished working with the acclaimed film-maker, who served as a producer on the movie based on Richard Morais' 2010 novel with the same name.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I hadn't read the book before taking on the project. I got the script that was based on that book, which was faithful to it.
"This was meant to be a Steven Spielberg-directed movie. As he abandoned the project, I got on board. Already, Dame Helen Mirren was on board. So, I was the quick replacement of Mr Spielberg."
Hallström was due to direct the 2002 movie 'Catch Me If You Can', starring Leonardo DiCaprio, but it was ultimately Spielberg who took the role.
He explained: "It was fantastic to get to work with Steven as a producer - I always wanted to do that.
"I had a project many years ago, where I was supposed to direct and he was supposed to produce called 'Catch Me If You Can'.
"But it ended up being Spielberg taking over that time. That was how I got to know him and I got to work with him this time - it was heavenly, I must say."

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan ‘seek seven-figure pay rises’

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are both seeking seven-figure pay rises for the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' sequel.
Although the first movie based on the erotic novels by author E.L. James was greeted by mixed reviews, the pair want a substantial pay increase to star in the next instalment of the franchise, having been paid around £170,000 for the first film.
Reflecting on their contractual situation, an insider explained to The Hollywood Reporter: "It was a very basic franchise starter deal.
"Look at Twilight and Hunger Games, and that's where it is heading."
Meanwhile, it was recently suggested Dornan would decline the invitation to appear in the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' sequel, with reports claiming that his actress wife Amelia Warner - with whom has a 15-month-old daughter, Dulcie - is unhappy with him starring in explicit sex scenes.
The 32-year-old actor was also reported to be concerned at the prospect of being forever identified as Christian Grey, the central character in the popular books.
However, it now appears that he and Johnson, 25, are happy to star in the sequel provided they both receive substantial pay increases.

Charlotte Le Bon says Helen Mirren is her inspiration

Charlotte Le Bon aspires to be like Dame Helen Mirren.
The 28-year-old actress, model and television presenter stars alongside Dame Helen in the 2014 comedy-drama 'The Hundred-Foot Journey', and has revealed she found working alongside the Academy Award-winning Brit to be an inspirational experience.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It was really inspiring to see her work, because she was not at all pretentious.
"I was nervous at first to work with her, but she's so easygoing and so humble, she works with you as an equal. It was amazing given the career she's had. She wasn't trying to give me any advice or stuff like that. She was just acting and playing with me, being a big help.
"She's beautiful and extremely confident. I want to be like that when I grow up."
And the actress - who's spent the majority of her acting career in France - revealed she was attracted to the film because of the stellar names attached to it, which included Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg as producers.
Charlotte - who plays the role of Marguerite - shared: "When there are names like [director] Lasse Hallstrom, Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg attached to your project, you just say yes right away - you don't even think about it.
"I was totally just working in France. And I think this casting ... I was just hoping and they called me back and they said I had the part. I was just really, really excited."

Oprah Winfrey charmed on set of The Hundred-Foot Journey

Oprah Winfrey felt like she was "stepping out of the script" on the set of 'The Hundred-Foot Journey'.
The 61-year-old star served as the producer - alongside Steven Spielberg - on the Lasse Hallström-directed comedy-drama movie based on Richard Morais' 2010 novel with the same name, and has revealed she was charmed by the story from the outset.
She shared: "From the moment I read the script, I knew this was a piece of work that I wanted to be associated with. And I think what Richard Morais did with The Hundred-Foot Journey, was to allow the reader to step into a world that was unfamiliar to them."
The movie, which stars Dame Helen Mirren and Charlotte Le Bon, tells the story of a family who own a restaurant in Mumbai, India, but are forced to leave after being attacked by a mob.
And Oprah said that what she encountered on the set of the movie was precisely how she'd envisioned it.
She reflected: "When I came on the set, it was like stepping out of the script. Everything has the texture and feel of exactly what I imagined it to be."
'The Hundred-Foot Journey' is available on Blu-ray and DVD now, courtesy of Entertainment One.
