Ryan Gosling’s haunted mansion

Ryan Gosling is in talks to star in 'Haunted Mansion'.
The 'Drive' actor has appeared to have struck up a friendship with Guillermo del Toro in recent months and it now seems their February trip to Disneyland - where they rode the Haunted Mansion ride, as well as Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction - was research for the filmmaker's planned supernatural family film as he has offered a role in the Disney movie to his new pal, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
The movie has been in development for some time and was first announced at Comic-Con almost five years ago.
'High Fidelity' screenwriter D.V. DeVincentis is currently working on a script for the film.
Del Toro has previously spoken of his excitement to bring some "dark imagery" to the big screen for Disney.
He said: "Dark imagery is an integral part of the Walt Disney legacy. After all, Disney himself was the father of some really chilling moments and characters - think Chernabog from Fantasia or Maleficent as the dragon or the Evil Queen in Snow White.
"I couldn't be more excited to be a part of my own adaptation of the original theme park attraction Walt envisioned and that remains, for me, the most desirable piece of real estate in the whole world!
"It's going to be a thrill ride for the whole family but it's definitely going to be scary. Walt Disney is one of the creators of some of the scariest images in my childhood. People forget that he not only made sweet images but also images of nightmare. We need to honour that side of the legacy."

Ryan Gosling cast Matt Smith on the back of his Doctor Who performance

Ryan Gosling cast Matt Smith after watching him talk to aliens "like a boss" on 'Doctor Who'.
The 32-year-old actor was the 11th Doctor in the BBC sci-fi series and his starring performance on the show convinced Ryan, 34, of his suitability for the villainous role in his new Gothic fairytale 'Lost River'.
He recalled: "One day I was watching TV. I heard Matt Smith's voice coming at me. It was Doctor Who and there was an episode where he was in a car screaming at these aliens and telling them where to go. Like a boss. Just telling all these spaceships what was what.
"As an actor I know that's pretty hard to do, because I'm pretty sure those spaceships weren't there. I thought, 'Who is this guy?'
"There's no-one like him. He's like one of those actors from the Seventies, just themselves and nobody else. I said, 'I have to work with that guy.' So I tracked him down."
Meanwhile, Matt said his audition for the film took on an unusual twist.
He recalled: "It's the only audition where I've talked for a good hour about what we like: music, books, everything. Then we started the scene, and the camera ran out so we ended up doing it on Ryan's iPhone."

Daniel Radcliffe is in talks to star in a new drama about the creator of the 'Grand Theft Auto' video game. The 25-year-old actor, who is best known for his starring role in the 'Harry Potter' movies, is in talks to play Sam Houser, the British-born c...

Robert De Niro to star in Enzo Ferrari biopic

Robert De Niro is to play Enzo Ferrari in a new biopic about the motor racing entrepreneur.
The 71-year-old actor, who's previously starred as Jake LaMotta in the Martin Scorsese-directed 'Raging Bull', has revealed his pride at being cast in the role of one of motor sport's most famous names, saying it will take priority over his other ongoing projects.
He told Italian newspaper Il Messaggero: "It is an honour to tell the life of an extraordinary man who revolutionised the world of motor sport.
"The film will go into production soon, mostly in Italy, and has absolute priority over all my other projects."
Ferrari died in 1988 at the age of 90, having founded the Scuderia Ferrari racing team, as well as the iconic car company that bears his name.
It remains unclear whether the film - which is expected to cover a period from 1945 to the 1980s - will be shot in English, Italian or a mixture of the two.
However, neither will prove a major obstacle for De Niro, who learned the Sicilian dialect for 'The Godfather: Part II' and also spoke Italian in the romantic comedy 'The Ages of Love'.

Kevin Hart thinks humour is the ‘most attractive trait’

Kevin Hart thinks humour is the "most attractive thing in the world".
The 35-year-old comedian, who stars in new comedy 'Get Hard' alongside fellow funnyman Will Ferrell, said he was unsurprised to hear Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep has a crush on his co-star, simply because he's able to make women laugh.
Asked if he was shocked by Meryl's confession, Kevin said: "No, I wasn't shocked she wanted to get with Will. Granted, Will may not be a walking sex symbol but what is the most attractive thing in the world to a woman? Humour.
"If you can make a woman laugh and a woman can have a good time, your longevity with that woman is so much better than the guy that walks in with the abs who doesn't really talk. That gets old after day three.
"The guy that you can be 100 percent of yourself with is the guy that you will truly love."
However, Kevin insisted you cannot teach someone to be funny, observing "you either have it or you don't".
He told Metro newspaper: "I don't care what anyone says. You can't teach funny. There's different levels of funny - family funny, professional funny, improv funny, coworker funny. Different types of personalities can shine but everybody can't be that person. When you are, you stand out."

Fast and Furious 7 ‘could be last in the franchise’

'Fast & Furious 7' could be the last film in the series.
The franchise is reportedly in a state of uncertainty, with no director or writer appointed for the upcoming eighth film.
There are also doubts over casting, with many key players not yet signed up for future films.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Neal Moritz said: "Honestly, we're just bathing in the success of [Furious 7]... We'll probably get together in a week or so to talk. [The story] is going to have to be something enticing for all of us. It has to be as good as or better [than 'Fast & Furious 7']."
'Fast & Furious 7' director James Wan, although originally signing up to direct two films, recently left the series to work on 'The Conjuring 2', and Justin Lin, who directed previous 'Fast & Furious' films, is also unavailable due to 'Star Trek 3' commitments.
In terms of the cast, the long-term contracts for many of the series' actors are said to have run out, meaning fresh negotiations will be required, while Dwayne Johnson signs on a film-by-film basis.
'Fast & Furious 7' recently topped the US box office, taking $143.6m in a huge opening weekend and becoming the fourth-highest opener of all time.

Idris Elba dismisses James Bond rumours

Idris Elba believes the chances of him playing James Bond are "gone".
The 'Luther' actor has been backed by countless famous faces to become the next actor to play the iconic spy in the film franchise when current Bond, Daniel Craig, eventually retires, but he believes there is no chance of it happening because of the mass media speculation.
He admitted: "It's a rumour that's really started to eat itself. If there was a chance of me getting Bond, it's gone."
The 42-year-old star also took the chance to clear up rumours he had been in talks with Bond producers, saying they have "never happened," and revealed it was actually Daniel Craig who originally sparked suggestions.
Speaking to the audience at London's British Film Institute, he said: "Daniel Craig actually set the rumour off. About four years ago he said Idris Elba would be a great Bond and then it started to creep. I blame Daniel."
Stars including Will Smith, Kanye West and Pierce Brosnan have backed calls for Idris to be the next actor to take on the role after a leaked Sony correspondence suggested the idea.
However, the father-of-two took offence to recent comments made by former 007 actor Sir Roger Moore who said James Bond should be played by an actor who is "English-English," despite the veteran actor later saying his comments has been misinterpreted and were not meant in a racist way.
Idris said: "I was born here. I was born in England, born and raised."

Ethan Hawke is ‘allergic’ to award-chasing films

Ethan Hawke is "allergic" to films that chase awards.
The 44-year-old actor, who stars in the Andrew Niccol-directed drama 'Good Kill', has voiced his opposition to small movies that are clearly made with the intention of winning Academy Awards.
Ethan said: "There's nothing worse, in my mind, than these movies that come out that small like they're chasing an Oscar. I'm just allergic to it - it's like, urgh.
"And I feel the same way about the ones that are chasing $100m or something. You can smell it on them. They're playing to the lowest common denominator. "
The 'Boyhood' star also revealed the influence director Joe Dante has had on his career, having helmed his first feature film, 'Explorers'.
Ethan told Den of Geek: "He was my first teacher, really, Joe Dante. You know, Quentin Tarantino's made being a film geek kind of famous, but Joe was a film geek way before. And he loves all kinds of movies.
"He would talk to me about John Carpenter's 'The Thing', he would talk to me about John Frankenheimer's 'The Train', he would talk to me about why Frank Sinatra was a great actor ... he had no differentiation between high and low."
