Adeel Akhtar: I’d do anything for art

Adeel Akhtar would do anything for the "artistic" cause.
The 35-year-old actor - who stars alongside Ray Panthaki, Verne Troyer and Vicky McClure in the comedy movie 'Convenience' - has revealed he'd always be willing to push the push the boundaries, even if it means entering a sex dungeon for British poet Kate Tempest.
Speaking at the London premiere of 'Convenience' at Curzon Soho last night (21.09.15), Adeel told BANG Showbiz: "I did this thing for Kate Tempest, I love her. I did a video for her and in the video I get kidnapped by a couple of women, and they put me in a sex dungeon and they dress me up as a woman, with a terrible blonde wig, and I'm dancing, zoned out in a sex dungeon. And I thought it was because Kate Tempest was a part of it. I asked her and she goes, 'No no no, I had no idea.'
"I thought it was part of this artistic movement, with Kate Tempest at the helm and it was like 'No, you just did that off your own back'."
Adeel said that although the clip proved to be popular on the internet, it's not one of his career highlights.
He said: "So yeah, I did that to myself. I mean, I got 50,000 hits on this thing, because I thought it was for the cause, you know what I mean? The artistic cause or whatever, but it wasn't.
"It was just me in a sex dungeon with a terrible wig. That's one where I go, why did I do that?"
'Convenience' is in cinemas October 2 and On Demand/DVD October 5.

Emily Blunt feels intimated by Mary Poppins role

Emily Blunt would be scared to play Mary Poppins.
The 32-year-old actress has been heavily linked the iconic role in a planned Disney remake, but has insisted she's yet to agree a deal with the studio and she said the idea has not progressed beyond mere rumours.
Asked if there's anything she can officially reveal, the actress said: "No, I've heard rumours of this and people have spoken to me about it today and there's not been anything official.
"I mean, she's an icon."
Emily admitted the idea of replacing Julie Andrews as the flying nanny was intimidating.
She told Digital Spy: "Oh I won't go there yet, but I think it would be [scary]."
Last week, it was reported Emily had already been offered the role of Mary Poppins and was likely to accept Disney's invitation to star in its much-anticipated remake.
The planned movie will follow storylines from more of P.L. Travers' children's books that focus on Mary's magical adventures with the Banks family, and could be directed by Rob Marshall, who previously helmed Disney's 'Into the Woods'.
The remake will take place in London 20 years after the original movie, which also starred Dick Van Dyke.

Jared Leto and Chris Evans wanted for The Girl on the Train

Jared Leto and Chris Evans are in talks to join 'The Girl on the Train'.
The Hollywood duo are both wanted to appear opposite Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett in DreamWorks' adaptation of the Paula Hawkins best-seller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story focuses on a jobless alcoholic who spends her daily train ride dreaming about an apparently perfect couple who live in a house she looks at from her carriage.
But after returning home following a heavy bout of drinking covered in blood and unable to remember much, the central character - played by Emily Blunt - realises she may have witnessed or been involved in a serious crime.
Chris Evans - who's best known for his starring role in the 'Captain America' franchise - is wanted to play the ex-husband, while Jared Leto is being eyed for the role of a neighbour.
Meanwhile, Chris admitted recently that he's eager to continue in the role of Captain America, having developed such a good relationship with Marvel Studios.
Chris said: "Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me. I've never had such a relationship where you have such - I mean look at my resume, I'm used to being on set being like, 'Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?'
"Marvel just can't stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It's wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it's like a playground as an actor."

Christoph Waltz: Bond team always talk about Blofeld

Christoph Waltz and the 'Spectre' team constantly talk about Ernst Blofeld.
The Oscar-winning star - who's been cast in the eagerly-awaited new James Bond movie - has been consistently linked to the role of the iconic movie villain, but has refused to reveal whether he'll play Blofeld.
He said: "The B-word! We talk about it all the time. It's the great figure from the Bond vault, as it were.
"There was this big spectre hanging over the movie and the franchise, which is Blofeld, and what happened to the supervillain. That's all I'm going to say."
Although Christoph remained predictably tight-lipped about the specifics of the plotline, he revealed 'Spectre' would deal with some major issues in the Bond franchise.
He told Empire magazine: "There's some big stuff the movie is moving towards. There are depth charges you hopefully don't see coming."
Meanwhile, Monica Bellucci insisted recently she is a "Bond woman" not a "Bond girl".
The 50-year-old said: "Men have the power in everything: journalism, acting, direction; in banks, finances, schools. All the laws are made by men. Men think that women, when they're not able to procreate any more, become old.
"That is not true - they are still amazing! That's why I think that [director] Sam Mendes in choosing me, an adult woman, created a big revolution."

Ernie Hudson ‘accepts Ghostbusters role’

Ernie Hudson has reportedly accepted a role in the female-led 'Ghostbusters' reboot - despite previously saying it was a "bad idea".
The 69-year-old actor - who starred in the two original movies in the franchise, in 1984 and 1989 - was seen on the set of Sony's new 'Ghostbusters' movie during the final day of filming on Saturday (19.09.15), suggesting he's accepted a cameo role in the eagerly-awaited reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It's unclear if Ernie will reprise his famous role as Winston Zeddemore in the new movie - which also stars Chris Hemsworth - or whether he'll appear as a completely original character.
He is, however, the latest member of the original cast to participate in the making of the latest movie, with Bill Murray reportedly set to play Martin Heiss, a professional supernatural debunker.
Meanwhile, Dan Aykroyd has also been handed an unspecified cameo role in the Paul Feig-directed project.
In a recent interview, Bill admitted he thought long and hard about accepting a role in the film before he agreed to do it.
He said: "I thought about it for a very long time. Like, many, many months. No, that's not right. I was seriously thinking about this for years, really.
"It kept eating at me, and I really respect those girls. And then I started to feel like if I didn't do this movie, maybe somebody would write a bad review or something, thinking there was some sort of disapproval [on my part].
"I like those girls a lot. I mean, I really do. They are tough to say no to. And Paul is a real nice fellow."

Brie Larson ‘in talks to star in Battle of the Sexes’

Brie Larson is in talks to replace Emma Stone as Billie Jean King in 'Battle of the Sexes'.
The 25-year-old actress - whose previous film credits include '21 Jump Street' and 'The Gambler' - has been approached to play the iconic female tennis star in the movie, after Stone was forced to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict.
The movie will tell the story of how King in 1973, then aged 29 and the world No 2 female tennis player, was challenged to a match by Bobby Riggs, a retired former Wimbledon champion.
She accepted the invitation, with a $100,000 prize on offer to the winner of the high-profile event.
Meanwhile, Brie admitted recently she was once overawed by having to promote her movies, but said dressing up has helped boost her self-confidence.
She shared: "I used to get so nervous about walking red carpets.
"The photographers yell at you, and you can't see anything!
"In my day-to-day life I'm not really one to get dressed up or put on makeup, so I'm finding that it's such a fun time to play dress up.
"I'm learning that the power of the right outfit can totally change your perception and confidence level."

Kristen Bell ‘to star in CHiPs remake’

Kristen Bell is to star alongside her husband Dax Shepard in a remake of 'CHiPs'.
The 35-year-old beauty - who starred in the 'Frozen' movie in 2013 - has agreed to appear in the much-anticipated film based on the iconic TV show, with her husband also assuming directing duties, TheWrap reports.
The movie will feature performances from 'Ant-Man' star Michael Pena, as well as Adam Brody, Rosa Salazar and Vincent D'Onofrio, the latter of whom has been cast in a villainous role.
News of Kristen's casting comes after she opted to take the summer off from acting, as she wanted to spend time with her children, daughters Lincoln, two, and nine-month-old Delta.
Speaking in May, she shared: "I'm going to mommy them the whole summer. I'm going to take my girls out and about, and do crafts and art projects. We just got a bunch of plants at the farmers market and we're going to plant a big garden this summer."
Kristen also revealed the challenge she and her husband face in balancing their careers with family life.
She said: "We're trying to have only one parent working at a time. Since I just finished 'Michelle Darnell,' the movie with Melissa McCarthy, I'll take the summer off and Dax will be working."

Joanne Froggatt: I’d love to do a Downton Abbey movie

Joanne Froggatt would "love" to make a 'Downton Abbey' movie.
The hit TV show is currently in its final series, but Joanne - who stars as Anna Bates in the period drama - has revealed she would happily return to the set once the final episode has aired.
Asked about turning the show into a movie, the 35-year-old actress said: "It's a great idea, it would be lovely and I would love to do it. The difficulty would be getting everyone together.
"The first episode aired tonight in the UK so it's such lovely timing, I'm so happy to be here. I have to fly back so can't go to a party but will have a glass of champagne on the flight instead."
Joanne's remarks come shortly after her 'Downton' co-star Phyllis Logan said she "definitely" wants to make a movie.
However, she admitted there are a number of obstacles standing in the way of the movie getting made.
Asked if she's keen to star in a 'Downton' film, Phyllis said: "Well, I definitely would. It would be lovely. But logistically it's quite complex because there are so many of us."
