Ernie Hudson ‘accepts Ghostbusters role’

Ernie Hudson has reportedly accepted a role in the female-led ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot – despite previously saying it was a "bad idea".

The 69-year-old actor – who starred in the two original movies in the franchise, in 1984 and 1989 – was seen on the set of Sony’s new ‘Ghostbusters’ movie during the final day of filming on Saturday (19.09.15), suggesting he’s accepted a cameo role in the eagerly-awaited reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It’s unclear if Ernie will reprise his famous role as Winston Zeddemore in the new movie – which also stars Chris Hemsworth – or whether he’ll appear as a completely original character.

He is, however, the latest member of the original cast to participate in the making of the latest movie, with Bill Murray reportedly set to play Martin Heiss, a professional supernatural debunker.

Meanwhile, Dan Aykroyd has also been handed an unspecified cameo role in the Paul Feig-directed project.

In a recent interview, Bill admitted he thought long and hard about accepting a role in the film before he agreed to do it.

He said: "I thought about it for a very long time. Like, many, many months. No, that’s not right. I was seriously thinking about this for years, really.

"It kept eating at me, and I really respect those girls. And then I started to feel like if I didn’t do this movie, maybe somebody would write a bad review or something, thinking there was some sort of disapproval [on my part].

"I like those girls a lot. I mean, I really do. They are tough to say no to. And Paul is a real nice fellow."
