Bryan Cranston learns an important life lesson

Bryan Cranston learned an important life lesson playing Dalton Trumbo.
The 59-year-old actor stars as the American screenwriter and novelist - who spent 11 months in prison for refusing to assist the McCarthy witch hunts against Communism - in 'Trumbo', and Bryan thinks the movie carries an important message relating to "civil liberties".
He told the New York Daily News: "It allowed me to open up and learn, not only Hollywood history but this dark period in American history and realise that oppression in whatever form is an ugly thing, and even uglier if it's done by your government.
"It's the cautionary tale that civil liberties are not to be messed with. They're to be taken very seriously."
Meanwhile, Bryan's co-star Dame Helen Mirren said she was aware of Trumbo's story because of her father and his political views.
The Oscar-winning actress said: "My father was a left-wing Socialist the way Dalton Trumbo was, and I grew up with those kinds of attitudes in my household.
"We benefited because a lot of the very great artists came to live and work in Britain, where they were welcomed."

Harrison Ford’s ex-wife is dead

Harrison Ford's ex-wife Melissa Mathison has died.
The 'E.T. The Extra Terrestrial' screenwriter, who was married to the actor from 1983 until 2004, passed away in Los Angeles on Wednesday (04.11.15), aged just 65 after sadly losing her battle to neuroendocrine cancer, her sister Melinda Mathison Johnson has confirmed to CBS News.
Steven Spielberg, who directed the 1982 classic, said of her passing: "Melissa had a heart that shined with generosity and love and burned as bright as the heart she gave 'E.T.' "
Ford, 73, is yet to comment on his ex-spouse's death.
Mathison sadly leaves behind her two grown-up children Malcolm, 28, and Georgia, 25, whom she has with Ford.
The former couple, who met on the set of Francis Ford Coppola's 'Apocalypse Now' in 1976, married in 1983 but filed for divorce 18 years later in 2011 following allegations the Hollywood legend was out partying with other women.
Their marriage was finally legally dissolved three years later and was branded the third most costly celebrity divorce in history, according to E! News.
Ford went on to tied the knot with actress Calista Flockhart in 2010 after he met her at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards, while Mathison never remarried.

Sean Bean: Memes are my unintended legacy

Sean Bean thinks online memes will be his "unintended legacy".
The 56-year-old actor has enjoyed a stellar TV and film career, but has admitted he may ultimately be remembered for being the man behind the meme of his 'Lord of the Rings' character Boromir saying, "One does not simply walk into Mordor".
The British star said: "For some reason, the parts I play, like Boromir or Ned Stark, have a life online long afterwards.
"I keep seeing, what do you call them - memes? 'One does not simply ask for a drink' instead of, 'One does not simply walk into Mordor' - that sort of thing."
Sean suggested that despite his acting achievements, he's more likely to be remembered for the humorous memes that have appeared on the internet.
He told Radio Times: "They'll probably be my unintended legacy."
Meanwhile, Sean also acknowledged his reputation for being killed off early in films.
He said: "I have died quite a few times to be fair.
"I've seen that reel of clips - it sounds a bit macabre, but I watched that back, and I'd forgotten some of the scenes I'd died in."

Olivia Colman has joined the EE Rising Star Award jury to help choose the shortlist for the 2016 award.
The 41-year-old actress - who starred in 'The Iron Lady' and 'Locke' - has joined a host of leading industry experts on the judging panel for the coveted award, which has has been won previously by the likes of James McAvoy, Tom Hardy and Kristen Stewart.
Olivia said: "I feel very privileged to be sitting on the jury panel for the EE Rising Star Award - it's so important to have a category that recognises up and coming talent.
"After reviewing the actors and actresses that have emerged this year, whittling down the shortlist is going to be no easy feat but I'm looking forward to it enormously."
The award was created in honour of Mary Selway, who was a BAFTA-winning casting director, and who worked with a host of acclaimed directors, such as Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood and Ridley Scott.
The nominees for the award will be announced on January 6, when public voting will be opened and available to all UK residents.
The award winner will be announced at next year's EE British Academy Film Awards in February.

Ralph Fiennes ‘to play Alfred in Lego Batman Movie’

Ralph Fiennes is to voice the part of Alfred in 'Lego Batman Movie'.
The 52-year-old actor can currently be seen starring as M opposite Daniel Craig in the new Bond movie 'Spectre', but Ralph is reportedly set to become the loyal servant of another iconic character, Batman.
The award-winning performer has been cast alongside the likes of Will Arnett, Michael Cera and Rosario Dawson in the much-anticipated new movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Zach Galifianakis, meanwhile, is reportedly in negotiations to play the Joker.
News of Ralph's casting comes shortly after he praised 'Spectre' for being relevant to the modern world, although he admitted the Sam Mendes-directed movie doesn't stand up to closer scrutiny.
Ralph shared: "I do like the fact Sam has tried to root it in something real and relevant, but it doesn't bear very meticulous inspection. I like the principle.
"And it felt like quite a good line to say; that a licence to kill is also a licence not to kill. But the Bond films work on dialogue that you buy into at the moment because the real world is much more complex."

Liam Neeson offered starring role in Watergate movie

Liam Neeson is wanted to star in a movie about the Watergate affair.
The Oscar-winning actor has held discussions about taking the central role in 'Felt', a drama about Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein's notorious Watergate source, who was originally known as Deep Throat but was later revealed to have been FBI agent W. Mark Felt.
The scandal ultimately led to the resignation of the US President Richard Nixon, and Neeson has been offered the role of Mark Felt, according to Deadline.
The 63-year-old star would work from a script penned by Peter Landesman, who also wrote the American crime thriller 'Kill the Messenger' in 2014.
Meanwhile, Neeson has previously revealed that the success of the 'Taken' franchise has created a wider range of career opportunities, but he also conceded he can't appear in action movies for too much longer.
He shared: "I'm in a very, career-wise, great place. The success certainly of the 'Taken' films, Hollywood seems to see me in a different light.
"I get sent quite a few action-orientated scripts, which is great. I'm not knocking it. It's very flattering. But there is a limit of course."

Anne Hathaway cast in The Modern Ocean

Anne Hathaway is to lead a star-studded cast in 'The Modern Ocean'.
The Oscar-winning actress will appear alongside the likes of Keanu Reeves, Daniel Radcliffe, Chloe Grace Moretz, Tom Holland and Asa Butterfield in the new adventure-drama movie.
FilmNation - the movie distribution firm - previewed the picture, saying: "This epic tale, fraught with danger and intrigue, takes us from the ancient trading houses of Algeria to the darkest depths of the ocean floor."
Meanwhile, Anne has recently been linked with the starring role in the 'Mary Poppins' sequel, while she is also set to appear in and produce new sci-fi comedy 'The Shower'.
The 32-year-old actress - who appeared in the Christopher Nolan-directed 'Interstellar' last year - is to play a crucial creative role in the female-led comedy, which has been written and will also be produced by Jac Schaeffer, who penned the 2009 sci-fi rom-com 'TiMER'.
Anne said: "[Schaeffer] has written an awesome sci-fi comedy centred around funny, fully dimensional female characters.
"I feel so lucky to be a part of the team that will bring her enormously talented and fresh voice to the big screen."

Dame Joan Collins wants Bond girl role

Dame Joan Collins wants to be the oldest ever Bond girl.
The 82-year-old actress may have turned down the role in the James Bond franchise twice before, but she now has her sights set on becoming an iconic love interest of the secret agent in the near future and wants to go down in history.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "I was asked to be a Bond girl many years ago in 'Goldfinger' but I didn't fancy being painted gold. It's a pity I didn't do that, it would have been quite iconic. And then I was asked another time but I was expecting one of my children so I couldn't do it."
And the legendary star has already decided she will be a tough-talking "b**chy" Bond girl if she ever lands the role.
She explained: "I would love to be a Bond villain. Who wouldn't? What actress wouldn't? I would be good - I would be a bitchy Bond villain."
Meanwhile, Monica Bellucci, 52, currently holds the title for the oldest Bond Girl in the franchise's history after she was cast as widow Lucia Sciarra in the new movie 'SPECTRE.'
The brunette beauty previously admitted she initially thought director Sam Mendes was casting her as the new M, formerly played by Dame Judi Dench, due to her age.
She said last month: "I assumed they wanted me to play the new M. I really did but when Sam explained that he wanted 'an adult woman to seduce Bond for the first time,' I realised that this was going to revolutionary. It's such a beautiful example to set for other actresses - and other women."

Dave Bautista fears being typecast

Dave Bautista has rejected lots of film roles for fear of being typecast.
The wrestler-turned-actor stars as Mr Hinx alongside Daniel Craig in the new Bond movie 'Spectre' and has revealed he had some serious concerns about the role before he finally accepted the part.
He shared: "I really fought hard to not get typecast as your big, dumb muscle-head. We turn down a lot of stuff. We're very picky and choosy, which means not working very much.
"But we really fought hard because we didn't want to get typecast as that guy. Because that guy is easy to play.
"That was my concern because I didn't actually know much about the character when I was asked to audition for the part."
Dave also lifted the lid on the casting process, admitting he initially auditioned for another role in the movie.
The burly star told Entertainment Weekly: "I auditioned for someone who was not Hinx. I reenacted a scene from another Bond film. It was a video audition. I had to recreate a scene from 'Casino Royale'."
Dave also said he's proud to have become the latest in a long list of iconic Bond henchmen.
The 46-year-old actor reflected: "For another film, I might not use the word henchman. But for Bond, I will proudly.
"Bond henchmen are iconic. The way Hinx is portrayed is awesome. There's nothing subservient about him. He's on a mission. He's smart. It's great!"
