Brie Larson gets a rap name

Brie Larson has been given a "rap name" by her 'Kong: Skull Island' co-star Jason Mitchell.
The 28-year-old actor - who recently portrayed Eeazy-E in 2015 biopic 'Straight Outta Compton' - bonded with the 26-year-old beauty on the set of their forthcoming movie, which comes out in 2017, and now fondly calls her 'Young Brie'.
Jason shared: "We get along. We kick it on our days off ... I felt like I had to give her a rap name. She always wanted a rap name her whole life, so I'm like, 'You're Young Brie now.' "
Brie has landed a nomination for Best Actress at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards, which takes place in Los Angeles on Sunday (10.01.16), for her role in 'Room', and also picked up the Breakthrough Performance award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival last week.
Despite her recent successes, Jason thinks Brie is "dope" because she doesn't get caught up in Hollywood hype and they both still appreciate "every moment" in their respective careers.
He told Deadline: "I think we're both kind of in the same place mentally where we're not caught up on the hype of it or none of that. We're still at a super-homey point. No matter how much people talk about awards stuff, we still love it so much that everyday matters, every moment matters to us. It's dope working with somebody like that."

Sylvester Stallone says Creed sequel could happen

Sylvester Stallone is in talks to make a 'Creed' sequel.
The 69-year-old actor reprised his most famous role as boxer Rocky Balboa for the seventh film in the 'Rocky' franchise and has now revealed he has been discussing ideas for another movie with director Ryan Coogler.
What's more, the film could see Rocky reunited with his late friend Apollo Creed - whose son Adonis 'Donnie' Creed, portrayed by Michael B. Jordan, the retired champ trains in the current flick - with Carl Weathers returning to the franchise to reprise the role for the first time since 1985's 'Rocky IV'.
Stallone said: "Ryan has some ideas of going forward and backward and actually seeing Rocky and Apollo together. Think of 'The Godfather 2'. That's what he was thinking of, which was kind of ambitious."
Stallone believes that if the idea was to come to fruition, they need to act quickly to get Coogler, Jordan and the rest of the cast on board.
The action legend - who wrote the original 'Rocky' film which went on to win the Best Picture Oscar in 1976 - told Variety: "I know Ryan is probably going to be gone for a couple years. So there will be a quandary: Do we work with another director and have Ryan produce, or do we wait? There's a diminishing time acceptance of a sequel. Now they are cranking them out in a year."

Rooney Mara turned to Toy Story to forget traumatic shoot

Rooney Mara watched 'Toy Story 3' to help her forget about the rape scenes she had to shoot for 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'.
The 30-year-old actress played computer hacker Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's 2009 Hollywood interpretation of the Swedish novel of the same name and she decided to turn to the Disney animated film for comfort after acting out a graphic episode in which Lisbeth is sexually assaulted by her legal guardian.
She recalled: "I remember when I saw 'Toy Story 3', it was when we were filming 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' and it was after filming a week of rape scenes. I watched that on my computer and I was literally like scream crying. I was so upset at the movie I just cried myself to sleep."
Rooney - who has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) for her role opposite Cate Blanchett in 'Carol' - loves 'Toy Story 3' and admits there is one particular scene which always moves her.
In an interview with W magazine, she said: "(There's a scene) where Andy has decided to take his toys and he's going to give them to this other little girl who doesn't have any toys. And the entire movie that's all they want is for Andy to play with them ... so he takes them out of the box and shows her how to play with them. I'm going to cry just talking about it. They're so happy to have just one last time with Andy playing with them. I love that movie."

Lily Tomlin: Acting is my therapy

Lily Tomlin says acting is a form of therapy for her.
The 76-year-old star has had roles in movies such as 'Nine to Five' and 'I Heart Huckabees', as well as in television series including the critically acclaimed 'Grace and Frankie' alongside Jane Fonda.
And opening up about the long-term appeal of acting, Lily admitted she finds the process beneficial for her mental health.
She said: "That's part of why being an actor is so wonderful and exciting to you, is because you know what you want to go for. There are exceptions - people can fake you out - but if you're doing a scene that has an emotional turn, it'll come out different every time you do it.
"That's what I love about being an actor - it's kind of like psychotherapy. I get all of my 'therapizing' done on the stage."
Lily doesn't find her age is preventing her from being cast in roles, and is hoping Hollywood will soon change it's approach to older actresses in general.
She added to Deadline: "I think when all that gets out in the zeitgeist and when people see the potential of humans or age groups that they're not familiar with or they're used to thinking of in stereotypical terms, then the creative people will make that adjustment upward. I've played lots of mothers in the last four years.
"I just think as women expand beyond those stereotypical roles that they've been relegated to, then people will reflect those in the writing."

Margot Robbie relies on DiCaprio to cry

Leonardo DiCaprio helps Margot Robbie to cry during emotional filming scenes.
Margot - who starred opposite Leonardo in 'The Wolf of Wall Street' - always thinks of the actor dying in the sea as his character Jack Dawson in 1997 blockbuster 'Titanic' when she needs to convincingly weep for a role.
She revealed: "If I ever need to cry in a scene, I think of Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack dying in 'Titanic'. I would never tell Leo that. I'll kill myself if he ever reads this."
The 'Suicide Squad' star was being interviewed for W magazine's Best Performances of 2015/2016 issue, and another admirer who quoted the 41-year-old heartthrob as an inspiration is 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' star Rooney Mara.
The 30-year-old star gushed that she was in "love" with Leonardo at the age of 11 and would pretend they were married.
She said: "I didn't have posters of him, but I definitely had some cut-out pictures. I would write my first name with DiCaprio as my new last name to see how it would look."
Leonardo has been tipped as a potential Best Actor winner at the Academy Awards next month for his performance as American frontiersman Hugh Glass in 'The Revenant' - which is based on the true story of the events that unfolded during General Ashley's expedition of 1823.
Despite being nominated for five Oscars, the 41-year-old Hollywood star has always left the ceremony empty-handed so far.

Kurt Russell reveals Tarantino’s parties on The Hateful Eight set

Quentin Tarantino threw regular parties on the set of 'The Hateful Eight'.
The 52-year-old filmmaker shot the western in Ultra Panavision 70 - a format used only on 10 films since its discovery in the 1950s and most famously on the 1959 historical epic drama 'Ben-Hur' - and organised frequent cocktail celebrations for the cast every time he went through 100 reels of film.
Kurt Russell - who stars as bounty hunter John 'The Hangman' Ruth - said: "The days [on set] itself was fun, because we celebrated every 100th reel. I mean these were 70mm [reels]. And every 100th mag we would stop for half an hour and have a party.
"It was always a theme, one of them was a Mexican theme. One was a Hawaiian tropical theme, and the drinks were different.
"We'd stop and sit down and we talked about how we're doing, what is taking place, within the fun of what it is."
Tarantino's other credits include 'Pulp Fiction', 'Reservoir Dogs' and most recently 'Django Unchained', and despite his tough reputation on set, Kurt found him to be "fun" and passionate.
Speaking on UK breakfast show 'This Morning', he added: "He's the most fun. "You know I hear all different things about him, from his volatility or his mercurial [way] but I just think he's a blast. He loves it, he loves the process, he cares about it greatly and you can't ask for more than that."

John Boyega features in first role post Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Michael Bay will direct Transformers for a final time

Michael Bay is officially directing 'Transformers 5' - but it will be his last foray with the franchise.
The 50-year-old filmmaker has confirmed he's helming the next film in the blockbuster franchise, but claims after this one he is calling it a day.
He said: "I'm doing 'Transformers' ... 5, is it? I've taken on a lot of work. ... It's fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else."
Despite being told by 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' director J.J. Abrams that he's the only person who can control the franchise, he believes it's time to leave 'Transformers' behind.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: "J.J. told me, 'You're the only guy that could do this.' But it's time to move on. One more."
However, this isn't the first time Bay - who helmed all four previous 'Transformers' movies - has threatened to leave the franchise as he has stated twice before he wants to walk away from the multi-billion dollar series.
The eagerly-anticipated film is yet to receive an official release date but, it's expected to hit the big screen in early 2017.
In the meantime, Bay is busy promoting his latest film '13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi' which is set for release on January 29 in the UK.

Sylvester Stallone didn’t commit to Creed for two years

Sylvester Stallone took "two years" to be convinced to star in 'Creed'.
The 69-year-old actor was unsure about going back to his most famous role as boxer Rocky Balboa for a seventh film in the 'Rocky' franchise despite being intrigued by director Ryan Coogler's plot for the movie, which sees an aged and sick Rocky train Adonis 'Donnie' Johnson, the illegitimate son of his late friend and former opponent Apollo Creed.
He explained: "It took (Coogler) about two years to convince me. I had been very, very grateful the way last chapter of 'Rocky Balboa' wrapped up his story in a satisfactory way for the audience. When Rocky waves goodbye, that was a goodbye to the audience and a thank you. I just thought, 'Finally.' And thought it was a wonderful send-off. Rocky stayed dormant for six or seven years, and then this fellow comes in, and says, 'Oh, can we dig him up?' I go, 'No, no, no, no.'
"Then he proceeded to tell me this story. My first reaction was it was disconcerting. It shows Rocky outside the ring, fighting the fight that he really can't win. It's a fight against the greatest opponent in the world; life. I said, 'No, kid, I think we're tampering with something here we should leave alone.' "
Stallone's agents and his wife Jennifer Flavin were desperate for him to make the movie - which stars Michael B. Jordan as 'Donnie' - to test himself on screen and depict Rocky in a way that audiences had never seen before.
And the 69-year-old action legend admired 29-year-old Coogler's commitment to the story and perseverance so much he decided to give him a chance to make his movie in the same way he was given an opportunity as a young man to make 'Rocky' in 1976.
In an interview with Deadline.com, Stallone revealed: "Coogler goes away and does 'Fruitvale Station', wins all these awards, and he's offered multiple job opportunities and he keeps coming back to
'Creed'. I see this and say, this fellow here obviously is functioning on a different kind of energy. It is heartfelt, not monetary, not ego. It's as though he has to finish a mission, which was a love letter to his father who had been very, very ill and that stimulated the idea. There was just something about this kid, who was very, very physical in his manner, but sensitive and emotional. It kind of reminded me...of me, truth be told. So I finally said, "You know what? Someone took a chance on me, once. I'm just going to throw caution to the wind and let him run with it."
