Julianne Moore is in talks to play a villain in 'Kingsman: The Secret Service'.
The 55-year-old actress is in negotiations to star opposite 25-year-old Welsh actor Taron Egerton - who will reprise his role of troubled youth-turned-secret service agent Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming action sequel - and will reportedly take on the sequel's villainous part.
If she joins the cast, Moore will take up the mantle of the main baddie from Samuel L. Jackson - who played an eccentric eco-warrior called Richmond Valentine who planned to save the planet from climate change via a worldwide killing spree in the 2014 film.
Details for the character have not been revealed but Taron previously indicated the latest nasty piece of work for the spy-thriller series has been so "brilliantly" written that he wished he could have played the part himself.
And it has now become clear as to why that would be impossible for more reasons that one, as the part has seemingly been written for a woman.
Meanwhile, the action is set to take the spy-thriller movie from London to the US, with Taron previously revealing: "With 'Kingsman', we're shooting in the summer at present. There's a script, it's brilliant. Obviously there's only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot the first one all in the UK, that won't be the case with the next one. It's a far more international story, we're going to some incredible places."
Julianne can currently be seen in 'Freeheld' opposite 'Juno' star Ellen Page.

Alejandro G. Iñárritu admits he made an "irresponsible decision" to only film 'The Revenant' in natural light.
The filmmaker spent 11 months shooting the motion picture in sub-zero temperatures in Canada, and to make conditions even more difficult the director decided the lighting wouldn't be enhanced in outdoor scenes, which he now realises was a "very bad decision".
He said: "It was insane. I would say the film is a happy accident of a very bad decision.
"It's the result of an irresponsible decision that I made. But we need that sometimes - to be naive, blind from reality.
"If not, we will not embark ourselves on things. I'll be an office guy or whatever. I mean, I'm not an idiot - I knew how difficult it would be.
"But I can feel now how far I was from reality when I was deciding how this was to be made.
"I'm glad that I did that irresponsible decision, but it could have been really bad. You know what I mean? Like when you climb Mount Everest and nobody dies, but we were so close! It's that feeling of relief."
Despite the tough circumstances, the movie is now being recognised after winning three Golden Globes and five BAFTAs - including Best Film at both ceremonies - and is nominated for 12 Academy Awards.
During filming there was speculation that some crew members had quit due to the difficult conditions, while some were also sacked along the way, but the 52-year-old director believes "every penny" and "every decision" was justified in the end.
He added to Rolling Stone magazine: "Of course some people were fired. And some people stay and love it. Is that really something should be even discussed? I don't think so.
"But anyway, now the film is there, and now the people understand that every penny, every decision that was made, was worth it."
The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio as fur trapper Hugh Glass, who sets out for revenge after being left for dead by his colleagues - who are played by Tom Hardy and Will Poulter among others - following a bear attack.

Julianne Moore insists it was a "joyful" experience for Ellen Page to play her "authentic self" in her first lesbian role in 'Freeheld'.
The 55-year-old Oscar winner stars alongside the 'Juno' actress - who publicly revealed she is gay in 2014 - in the new movie and she thinks it was important for Ellen to be her "authentic self in a part".
In an interview on UK TV show 'This Morning', Julianne said: "This was the first time that Ellen's played a gay character on screen and she was delighted. She felt that she was able to be her authentic self in a part.
"Even though the story is very sad, it was also joyful for her that she was able to participate in that way."
The film focuses on the real-life story of the battle cancer sufferer Detective Laurel Hester (Moore) had to transfer her pension to her civil partner Stacie Andree (Page).
Julianne admits she questioned Elle on her coming out for research for the film.
She said: "Ellen would answer any question that I had about what was it like to be out? What is like to feel you can't talk about your sexuality when you're at work? What does it do to you emotionally? She was very anxious I think to share all that."
Although the 'Still Alice' actress initially rejected the script she revisited it on the request of her daughter and soon realised the movie had an important message to share about gay rights and acceptance of other people's sexuality.
She said: "It was deliberately misleading at the beginning so you thought you were going to be watching this story about a police officer but really it's this tremendously beautiful very personal love story and that's why I did it - I was so moved by it.
"I like a love story, just as everybody else does and I think we all build our lives around our relationships. So it was important for me as a human being and then yes the progress that we have made and continue to make in the world with gay rights."

Rebel Wilson got Dakota Johnson to ask Universal if she could be in 'Fifty Shades Freed'.
The 35-year-old comedienne has revealed her 'How to Be Single' co-star - who plays submissive Anastasia Steele in the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' film franchise - told her about a role in the final instalment that would be ideal for her, so she encouraged her to put her name forward.
She said: "[Dakota] was like, 'You know there's this one character,' I forget the name, but it's a dominatrix character that pops up in the third movie. And she was like, 'Rebel, you could be that.'
"So I was like, 'If you want to put in a word for me with Universal and see what happens, yeah.' And she did offer to do that!"
While Rebel insists she hasn't read any of E.L. James' 'Fifty Shades' erotic romance novels - which the films are based on - she would love to do some "whipping" in the third movie in the series.
She added to Cosmopolitan's website: "I don't know how I'd be in a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' situation. I haven't read the books so I don't know what goes on in those movies!
"The whipping might be fun, but you'd probably have some tight leather outfit that wouldn't be very breathable. Who knows, I'll wait and see if I get offered the role."
Filming for 'Fifty Shades Darker', the second movie in the franchise - which sees Jamie Dornan play sexual sadist Christian Grey - began yesterday (16.02.16).
E.J posted a picture of the set on Instagram and added the caption: "Day one #FSD Good luck to all the cast and crew (sic)"

Born on May 16, 1917 in Helsinki, George cut his acting teeth in his 30s and enjoyed a healthy career on Broadway before he made the move into television in the '60s and '70s and starred in some of the biggest shows of the era such as 'Mission: Impossible', 'Hawaii Five-O', 'Hogan's Heroes', 'The Six Million Dollar Man', and 'Columbo'.

Adam McKay "will definitely" work on 'Ant-Man and the Wasp'.
The screenwriter will return for the Marvel Studios sequel to most likely pen more comedic quips for Paul Rudd who plays the titular shrinking superhero.
Speaking about the sequel to the 2015 'Ant-Man' film, McKay said: "We've been talking to Marvel actually. We just talked to them the other day, and it looks like I will be involved. I don't know if it's going to be right from page one. But it looks like I will definitely be involved."
The 47-year-old filmmaker - who has been nominated for an Oscar for his work on 'The Big Short' - also previously collaborated with Rudd on 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy', co-writing the script with Will Ferrell.
The script for the second film in the franchise will be jointly written by Rudd, McKay, Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer, while Peyton Reed will once again take the director's seat.
Rudd will be joined by Evangeline Lilly, who played Hope van Dyne in the first film and will be donning the Wasp shrinking suit in the sequel.
Michael Douglas is expected to return as scientist Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man and the person responsible for creating the suit after he discovered the subatomic particles that made shrinking possible.
'Ant-Man and the Wasp' is the twentieth instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while also being the eighth instalment of Phase Three, and McKay has expressed an interest in expanding on the story and writing a solo Wasp movie for Marvel Studios at some point in the future.
'Ant-Man and the Wasp' is currently scheduled for release July 6, 2018.
