Martin Clunes to present a new TV travel series

Martin Clunes is set to present a new TV travel series.
The 58-year-old actor impressed ITV bosses with his three-part show ‘Islands Of America’ in 2019, and four episodes of ‘Islands Of The Pacific’ are now being made by the team behind Martin’s hit TV series ‘Doc Martin’, according to The Sun newspaper.
The actor previously admitted he’d pitched the idea of a second travel series to TV bosses.
Speaking at the launch of ‘Islands Of America’ in 2019, Martin explained: "We’re going to do the ‘Islands of the Pacific’ next, in 2020 if it gets picked up, because that won’t be a ‘Doc Martin’ year.
"That’s my pension plan, to be the island guy."
Meanwhile, Martin previously insisted he’s not heard anything about a ‘Men Behaving Badly’ reunion.
The actor played lager-swilling lad Gary Strang in the comedy series between 1992 and 1998, and although there’s been a clamour for it to return, Martin insisted he hasn’t heard anything official about the show’s proposed comeback.
Quizzed about the rumours on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Martin replied: "It’s the first I’ve heard of it!"
Martin went on to joke that a revival would be difficult because his co-stars Neil Morrissey, Caroline Quentin and Leslie Ash don’t look as good as he does these days.
He quipped: "The others haven’t aged as well as I have!"
By contrast, Neil – who played Gary’s layabout flatmate Tony Smart – previously admitted that he and his castmates would be up for a ‘Men Behaving Badly’ reunion if a good script was written.
He said: "If there’s a script – because in my game everything starts with a script – and if the script’s good … Martin and I and Leslie have all said of course we’ll do it."
