Lucy Mecklenburgh doesn’t think she could help Gemma Collins lose weight.
The 25-year-old beauty has her own fitness company Results With Lucy, and while her online venture has seen thousands of women sign up in a bid to shed the pounds, she thinks her former ‘Only Way is Essex’ co-star is too stubborn for her to be able to use her methods to overcome her much-publicised battle with the bulge.
She said: "I would take her on but Gemma is Gemma and she has to do things her own way. I think I would struggle to help her lose weight.
"When she puts her mind to something, she’s really determined and ambitious – she’s done really well with dieting before – but I think I’d probably let her do her own thing."
However, Lucy would be willing to rise to the challenge if Gemma asked her for advice.
She added: "I’d be more than happy to help if that’s what Gemma wanted though."
Meanwhile, though Lucy was recently rumoured to have a new boyfriend, the brunette star – who previously dated Gethin Jones, Louis Smith and Mario Falcone – insists she is keeping her personal life private from now on.
She told Closer magazine: "I’ve been in the public eye since I was 19. I’ve found having public relationships and break-ups really tough.
"No one ever knows what happens apart from the two of you.
"Things get exaggerated, rumours start, lies are told. But I’ve learned from my mistakes and I want a low-key thing now…
"I’ve made the decision to keep my love life private from now on – but I’m really happy at the moment."
